Souvenir buying tips?

My husband and I are not staying at a Disney resort, but we're planning to buy lots of souvenirs at the park. Wondering if anyone has advice? For example, are we allowed to bring backpacks into the park? Do the parks have an option to send souvenirs to the front of the park for pickup at the end of the day? Or other options I'm not thinking of?

You can bring backpacks but there is no “front of the park” delivery service. There is a home delivery service which will probably cost you a small fortune. There are also lockers available.

We're staying at the Hilton and I think we are just going to buy things near the end of the night. I read not to wait until the last minute because they can sell out of things so we may go shopping around 4 pm. We plan to bring at least one bag into the park, also.

With a few exceptions you can find most of what you want at Bon Voyage, the store located outside of the park. I was surprised by how much they actually carried.

Backpacks are fine.

I'd browse earlier in the day when the stores are quiet to decide what you'd like to buy (and maybe take photos in case you forget which store you saw it in) and only purchase something if it appears to be low stock. Otherwise, we just buy what we want on the way out after the "park" has closed, but the stores are still open. But, be warned, it's pretty hectic in the stores once the park has closed. If you're wanting to try on a t-shirt, then you should definitely do that during the day as it would be too difficult to do after closing when it's quite chaotic.

I thought the Disney hotels delivered to the hotel like at WDW? I thought I read in someone else's trip report but I could be wrong.

ETA: Oops reread and saw they weren't staying at a Disney resort. Sorry.

This is from the disney website,
Souvenir Pick-Up Theme park merchandise purchased during the day can be delivered to a designated location near the front entrance for convenient pick-up as you exit the park. To utilize this service, simply let the retail clerk know during time of purchase.

No. This is absolutely not offered. What website are you looking at?

So they do have fitting rooms? I was wondering about this.

Yes, but not in every store where they sell clothes. So they may need to escort you to a different store and wait while you try on the item.

It would be too chaotic for them to do that at closing, so if you want to try something on, do so when the stores are quieter and they can help you find a fitting room if needed.

Otherwise, you may be stuck like I was in Shanghai trying on something in the bathroom (after purchasing) to see if it fit or needed to be exchanged!

A lot of the stores in Mediterranean Harbor and the World Bazaar close after the stated park closing time. Bon Voyage also stays open for a bit after park closing. For any large items that you don't want to carry, you can mentally note where you saw them and pick them up after fireworks.

I usually buy small items like pins, buttons and stationery as I see them but big items like Duffy costumes in the evening.
