A poster on the phone thread mentioned not only primarily using a landline phone, but also having an actual answering machine. If we saw one today some of us would laugh at the antiquated "technology" and some of us probably wouldn't even know what it was.
In my office at work I have a transistor radio that I use daily. I've had it for 25 years or so and it's always been tuned to the same AM talk station. I know I could easily stream the audio on-line but somehow I just can't bring myself to part with it. I also get a chuckle when I am occasionally asked "what it is".
