NICE!!!

THANKS FOR POSTING......

I am guessing they will let you in just in case IF it does hit occupancy max? This may be a bit difficult to maintain as I am thinking opening day is going to be crazy......
if the land is at capacity they will have CM with pads checking reservations at Grand Avenue and allowing people with reservations inside. This is how they handled people with FP for Pandora during opening weekend

I suppose the other big thing would be trying to get into the park itself, between bag check and tapstiles. Could take awhile, and then they might not accept that excuse for missing your reservation.

I apologize that I haven't read all 34 pages of posts, but I did read the last several. I have reserved a Droid depot spot for my 6 year old son for his birthday. I also will have his 5 year old sister with me. Will they not let her in with us to do this? Trying to determine if I just need to cancel altogether. I know my son would love to do it, but we can't go without his sister.

I know the policy is the builder +1. However, in the case of one adult alone with 2 fairly young children if it were me I would keep the reservation and go anyway. It isn't like a family of 6 who all wants to go in and build one droid, it's a case of you can't do it if they won't let you all in. I would be willing to go and try, and see what happens. If they really do have to stick to the rule (which I would understand), I can't believe they would still charge you. I guess the real risk in my eyes is your sons disappointment if by chance they won't let you all go. Only you know how he would handle it if they don't let you in.

they will allow both the kids go into the experience. Disney policy states that a child 7 years old an over can go on an attraction alone. They will not want the 5 year old staying behind so they will allow the child to go in with you

Droid depot will be open during ap previews
I don't think you need to make a beeline for it but it will be popular
I've heard more people complaining about the BB unit. But you could search for reviews on YouTube, the are a lot. I made an R unit but just because R2D2 is my favorite character
Controlling a BB unit takes practice. From the videos it seems they are very similar to the BB8 that I have and let me tell you. In the beginning and still is a pain to control some times. Because his head can loose connecting and his head can come off. But after you get a hang of it. That is where I see most of the complaints forming through. Though these BB units are bigger than my BB8.

I am doing an R unit because I already have a BB unit with having BB8. Hope this help.
Thanks for the advice, that's kind of what I'd figured based on a few comments here and there. it seems as if we should either make 2 R units of one of each and let the older kid do the BB unit. Neither one is super patient, so I'm thinking the R units will be much better for them actually using them. Another option is to just make 1 R unit and have them share. Not that they are good at sharing, but then I could more justify the cost and we could go ahead and let them get the carry bag and maybe a personality chip or 2 without it being so darned expensive (assuming they have those, but since we're going the first AM I hope they do). The other benefit is our house is busting at the seams, so we would only have one more toy to fit in and have sitting around lol :upsidedow.

How did you transport your saber and droid home on the plane? Did you take a small carry-on just for them?
My understanding is that TSA and the airlines are allowing people to bring them not as carry-ons but as personal items that you can stow in your seat area. Hasn't been a problem with LAX and I'm guessing Orlando is prepared for this already.

I don't think we have a definitive answer with respect to passengers flying on Spirit or Frontier. Both airlines charge for bin bags. Many passengers seem to make do with just a personal item. I don't think a droid and a small backpack will fit under the seat in front of you.

We are flying Frontier TO WDW but taking Southwest home the next day (for our preview of GE). I am bringing only a “personal item” but putting a folded up bag inside of it for the trip home. We may or may not be bringing home 2 droids :). Of course it wouldn’t be the first time I had to buy a suitcase while on vacation to get my souvenirs home!

Does anyone know if we can have our Droid sent to our WDW resort room after building, or do we have to carry it out?

Hmm, we are a family of five 2 adults, 2 kids, and a toddler. We have reservations for DS1 at Savi's at 3:25 (I will be his +1), DS2 at Savi's at 4:05 (DH will be his +1) and Oga's for all 5 of us at 4:45. This is going to be complicated but I think we have two options under the rules:

Either (1) show up at SWGE at 3:05 (one hour before the second Savi's, so the four of us are in the 1 hour window), and hope they don't count the toddler, or (2) DS1 and I go in to SWGE an hour before his appointment, DS2 and DH stay outside SWGE with toddler, and go in at 3:45 (1 hour before all of us have Oga's). Either way, we will have to book it like crazy to get to Savi's 15 minutes before the appointment. This is going to be SOOOOO stressful.

Or we could all just show up early enough to have time to walk to Savi's for the first appointment (e.g., 2:45) and pray they take pity on us, since, after all, there is basically nothing the toddler will be doing in SWGE buy hanging out in his "youngling transport."
