Day 03
The Perfect End to a Perfect Night: Part One
Magic Kingdom Day I/Part VI

After our magical meal, James and I rushed over to the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to use our Fastpasses. It was officially that time of night in Magic Kingdom that is so beautiful, way more peaceful, and just so much more magical. The sun had set, the Kingdom was all lit up and glowing.

Even though we had fastpasses, I got a red card. I get these all the time!

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was amazing as ever. James loved it, too!

Riding it at night is AWESOME!
We were impressed that the photopass pictures automatically show up onto the MDE app.

Afterwards we hopped over to visit the Hundred Acre Wood. The line took a decent amount of time but we had fun while waiting.

After, it was time to head out into the hub to watch Celebrate the Magic and then Wishes. We found a spot about 5 minutes before Celebrate the Magic right against the railing on the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland. It’s a perfect spot to watch the show without having to deal with the crowds infront of the castle.

I wanted James to just enjoy it, so I told him to put his phone away and just take it all in. I loved it- it’s my fav- and James really enjoyed it, too.

Once the show was over we headed to the Castle to hopefully find a spot for Wishes. Last year on my family trip we stayed put on the bridge for Wishes and there was no audio and there was trees in the way. We found the perfect spot inside the taped line right infront of the castle.
​

​

I started crying, and when I asked James what his favorite nighttime show was at Disney (to put in my new PTR) he said Wishes- because he loved how happy it made me.
​

​

James did get a few pictures of Wishes for me.​

After Wishes we moved back behind the castle to Fantasyland. It’s A Small World was posted for a 5 minute wait (it ended up being a walk on!) and before we knew it we were off on the happiest cruise that ever set sail!

James thought this was weird...which makes me laugh because my sister thinks the same thing. I love it for what it is- a classic Disney attraction unifying all the people of the world. Plus it’s a nice long relaxing ride.

Anyone else horrified by these creepy clowns?

My sis is so weirded out by them. She’s like WHY ARE THEY HERE?

After It’s A Small World, we headed over to my favorite, Splash Mountain. We rode this earlier with FP+ but after checking the MDE app and seeing the low wait time, we jumped at a chance to ride it again.

Continued from above:

Splash Mountain was wonderful as always!! There was a guy and a girl infront of us who were talking about posing for the picture, so we tried to get in on it secretly as a joke but I have no idea if they realized since we lost them near the picture viewing area. But man was it a fun memory!

It was about 5 minutes to 11 which was closing time so sadly it was time to head out.

But then we saw a few people sitting on the side of the path...like they’re waiting for a parade. I asked what they were waiting for, why the Main Street Electrical Parade second showing of course!

UMM WHAAAT HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS???
​

​

Apparently if there’s enough people in the park they do an extra parade even if it’s not originally scheduled? Atleast that’s what the girls sitting who we asked told us.
​

​

We find a comfy spot to watch the parade. It’s hard to explain where we were sitting. It was near the shooting arcade but we weren’t curb side because there was truly nobody else around. We sat up on a wooden thing that had trees growing in the middle, like a platform up on the sidewalk. It was comfy, we had a great view, and once the parade rolled around and a couple more people showed up I got up to stand by the rope to wave to the characters.

It’s like we had the parade to ourselves. A couple months later they announced the MSEP was leaving Disney World, and since I hadn’t planned on seeing it until our last MK day and even then I wasn’t looking forward to it that much, I am SO glad we caught it this night.
​

​

I have one memory of this parade from my sister trip and we had a great spot by the castle until we were pushed out of the way by a cast member might I add because some lady who spoke broken English was yelling at the CM saying they were saving a spot for their massive family...mind you we were there way before her....so we literally were told to please move...the CM looked desperate so we helped her out and did but still we couldn’t see the parade and that left a sour taste of the parade. I did see it my first trip but barely remember it.

So I am SOOO glad I got to experience it like this. It is such a happy memory now and I can officially now say I’ll miss the MSEP.

You got such good pictures in IASW! Mine always come out super dark and blurry.

I think Kenny was ready to shoot himself after all the times we heard the Main Street Electrical Parade Music. Sometimes I even turn it on to annoy him now. But I enjoy it, because it's one thing my grandma remembers about Disney when she took my older cousin, and always asks me about it! I'm sad that it left.

Wishes makes me cry every time too! I'm really hoping we get the same effect from the new show. Also, at least James rides Small World...Troy refuses! I let him off the hook for now... until kids come in the picture!! And your pictures of MSEP came out great!!! Mine are always fuzzy/blurry! I love that parade though. However, it has been around FOREVER, and something new would be nice. I just hate having no parade at all!!! That music gets me too!

I am glad you were able to catch the Electrical Light Parade. I am sure going to miss it the next time I go to WDW. I guess I just have to plan a trip to Disneyland so that I can see it. ( I wish!) Too bad my budget will not let me right now.
Oh well, I can just live vicariously through other people, reading their trip reports. Looking forward to reading more about your trip.

I'm listening to Wishes now... so emotional.... can't handle....
I have no doubt Happily Ever After will be spectacular and we will all end up loving it... but atleast for me since my first trip wasn't until less than 5 years ago, Wishes WAS nighttime at Magic Kingdom. Wishes=Disney!

I was never the biggest fan of MSEP, but lemme tell ya, this basically private showing of it made me love it! Plus knowing I'll never see it again I think makes it a little sad too. You don't know what you have till it's gone It was the best way to end our perfect night!

Hmm someday we shall get to Disneyland! I am so happy with Disney World- but someday I'll make it to Disneyland! That said...when that day finally comes I doubt MSEP will still be there! One can hope!
I hear ya on that one- whenever I feel all sad about not being at Disney I just read tons of Trip Reports! That's why it has been so hard for me to keep up with mine- I'm too busy lurking through everyone elses!
I'll finish this one before my next trip though-I'm determined! I'm quick to write my updates, it's adding my pictures that eat up the time!

Day 03
The Perfect End to the Perfect Night: Part Two
Magic Kingdom Day One: Part VII

Hey all!​

When I last left off, James and I were enjoying a near-private Main Street Electrical Parade! Which we had no idea was going to happen- an 11:00pm parade surprise- on our most perfect Disney night!

We took the bus back to the room and though this was exactly one year ago today and I never took any notes, I’m pretty sure we just showered and watched some Stacey before hitting the hay.

Day 04
Rain Rain Go Away...
Rest Day/Part I

Our plans for the day were to sleep in, go mini golfing, and swim.
But we woke up to a TON of rain! It still looked like it was night out!

Our new plans? Sleep, eat breakfast, sleep some more, eat lunch, get coffee, eat dinner.
Okay so it wasn’t the most productive day at Disney..but hey that’s okay! We still had fun.
We also had a quick trip to Disney Springs which I’ll tell you about later!!​

​

First off, after sleeping in we headed to Landscape of Flavors to grab some breakfast.
​

​

​

​

We split that plate of breakfast delights, if I remember correctly James ate the waffles and I ate the eggs and we split the rest. He had chocolate milk and I had strawberry milk!
​

​

The rain let up a bit (it was still misting and overcast but it was a nice break in between down pours) so we took some pictures on our way back to the room.
​

...we went back to the room and napped!!

Apparently being awake a whole like two hours was exhausting work. We didn’t plan on napping, but I do remember the sound of the rain and the gloomy day getting the best of us so we both dozed off. I remember waking up in the early afternoon and not heading out again till probably 3ish.
​

We were both hungry so we decided to get some lunch.

So far all we’ve done today is sleep in, eat breakfast, nap, and eat lunch. We are totally owning this rest day.

​

James got the meatball sub and I got cheese pizza and caesar salad.
​

​

Yes I got a Mickey straw. I also picked one out for each of this kids I babysit.

I love the theme of this food court. For anyone who hasn’t been/hasn’t read, it’s divided into four sections. They are Cars, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid, and Finding Nemo themed, just like the rest of the resort. We ate in all the sections throughout our trip.

Today we ate lunch at The Little Mermaid section:

At this point, I was getting whiny. I hadn’t had any coffee yet and that just isn’t right.

I’m the kind of person that needs coffee the second I wake up. No wonder I took a nap!

We decided I needed coffee- STAT- and not the nasty stuff I had the other morning at Landscape of Flavors. We were headed to Disney Springs for some Starbucks.
​

​

Fun fact: I didn’t start drinking Starbucks till my 2014 Sister Trip to Disney. We stayed at Shades of Green and there’s a counter in the lobby that sells Starbucks. I fell in love with the iced Caramel Macchiato. At home I’m a Dunkin Donuts girl.
​

So I didn’t meet a single character (I have to live with that regret forever) because coffee rules my life. So off to Starbucks we go.

We had our mugs with us because we were coming right from lunch. Also, rain’s holding off for now.

Oooo awk..that’s not Starbucks nor Disney Springs. But I assure you, we went. I also assure you that is poured the entire time we were there. I have no photo evidence to back this, but James didn’t want to get his phone wet to take pictures, so thereyago.
​

​

I do remember getting off the bus, booking it to Starbucks, and booking it back to the bus. I don’t think we went into any shops, but this was also over a year ago and I took zero notes (never again!) so who really knows?
​

​

I know we showered and changed, then grabbed a bus to Magic Kingdom. We took the monorail to the Poly for our 9:15 reservations at Ohana.

Rest Day/Part II​

​

When I last left off, James and I had just arrived at the Poly for our dinner at Ohana.
We were early, so we looked around the shops and got some pictures before checking in.
​

After checking in, we found a seat and I had one goal- try a Lapu Lapu!

James holds the seats- and I go to find my drink. But the bartender was clearly ignoring me (I do look 12 but seriously not cool) and someone walks up next to me and he asks them what they want. It made me sad haha I DO look young but don’t ignore me!
​

​

I avoid confrontation at all costs, and sometimes realize I should be a little more assertive. A simple kind and friendly, “Hi! Excuse me but is this where I order a drink?” but instead I had awkwardly stood there, and being cut off discouraged me so I sulked back to James. James is so good to me. He promptly gets up and returns minutes later with my drink.

We were then called to our seat. The hostess was very nice.

Our waiter, Morris (pronounced Maurice) was CRAZYYYY. In a good way!

He was so much fun and kept making fun of me but in a friendly sorta way. He made this meal. Cause sadly...we didn’t care much for it. I’m not sure if it was because it was the end of the night, but nothing was hot, the bread was hard, and we didn’t get seconds on anything. But to be fair, we went close to closing.
​

​

Morris was very fun though- he even got James a kid’s dessert because he doesn’t eat basically anything adventurous (apparently bread pudding is now adventurous) but to be honest, I barely touched it.
​

​

The lady sang which was fun, and they piped Wishes in (not as amazing as I thought it would be though).
​

Awww man, I'm sorry you didn't like Ohana! We ate there for the first time on our last trip and fell in love with it! We still talk about how good the food was and decided that whenever we go back, we will always eat there. The chicken we had was some of the best chicken I have ever eaten. I think they put crack on it or something I would give it another shot at an earlier time, maybe it was because y'all were so close to closing time... IDK.
