(UPD 8/29) Tales of the Tweedles & Other Spazzjazzerit PHM '15 Cupcake Adventures

You guys are too much fun!
I'm glad you got some good cupcakes and had a good time!
(And, of course, I'm glad Olaf got the help he needed and is now living an alcohol-free life)

Those flats need some striped swim suits to match!

Love the cupcake adventures. At least you finally found some worth eating.
That wheelchair picture is pretty funny.

Don't give Tammie any ideas about dressing up flats.. otherwise it'll likely happen for our next trip! :)

Well I shouldn't say for certainty that Olaf is living an alcohol-free life. He IS living with Karen after all... one never can be too sure!
(And I can continue to slander her since she's MIA currently!)

What fun! I just can't imagine how much fun it would be to resort crawl with a bunch of good friends...and eat cupcakes no less. I keep hearing about Jellyrolls...maybe one day I will get to be at WDW without kids and get a chance to go there!!

I adore Jellyrolls so much but then I have a thing for men who can play a piano and older songs. So maybe that is why! :) To me, it's great fun! Maybe not so much to a younger person. I dunno.........

I totally agree. I absolutely loved the Duelling Pianos shows in Vegas...so much fun...I imagine it's similar.

I can't speak for the show in Vegas, but I've been to other dueling piano bars, and Jellyrolls is better for a couple of reasons (1) it's all request and they will play anything, and i mean anything you request (2) sing-along is encouraged, and the crowd can really add a second layer of entertainment.

I'm with Tinker326 - though I don't have a thing for men that can play piano - Jellyrolls is just about my favorite thing at WDW since Pleasure Island/Adventurers Club closed down.

I've been to several in Chicago & one in St. Louis... and so far- Jellyrolls has been the best! Never in Vegas though.. will have to check it out next time I go..whenever that is......

Well (1) is incorrect. Because someone in our party did request something and they read it and threw it out- I watched it happen... but I can't remember what it was though. It's that faulty memory thing.....

I totally agree with #2. The better/more rowdy the crowd, the better the experience.

If I lived down there, I'd be a nightly staple at Jellyrolls. I had to laugh.. in May when I went with Becca I was standing in line for Primeval Whirl in AK and I look over and see this guy and I'm like "I know him.. how do I know him?" Sat there trying to sneak glances forever without being rude to try to figure out how I knew this guy.... Well it finally came to me- I didn't KNOW him but he was one of the piano players from Jellyrolls! And then I felt I was in line with a celeb! Hahaha!

And so it seems my Tweedle has literally fallen off the face of the earth and is nowhere to be found! My third update with not even a check-in. I think she abandoned me and left me for brighter prospects with better running abilities and who will also strip for Ed. I am not that person. Although I would possibly strip for someone like George Clooney. (not possibly. I would). So maybe she'll take me back on that principle......

Nah, she's just crazy busy with work. And I totally get to see her in like 1.5 months so I'm super excited. I'm sending home my pug and pooping elderly cat with her. It's a surprise for her since she's not reading this she won't find out till they are in her suitcase!

So I shall continue onward. We are really close to wrapping this thing up.

We were last waiting (and waiting and waiting and waiting) at the bus stop at MK to catch transport on over to Beach Club/Boardwalk to head to Jellyrolls! The bus took for-evah!

Finally we were on it. By 'we' (to refresh memories) it was myself, my Tweedle & our trusty swearing co-hort Edie! We would be meeting with Betsy, her sister Lisa, Amy and her friend a little later at the club.

We decided to disembark the bus at Beach Club and walk around to Jellyrolls. It will come as not gigantic surprise to anyone reading this report that I had to stop and find a bathroom before making that walk. So we trucked all over the Beach Club finding one. This is one of my better pictures.... for sure.

I think I mentioned previously that we were tired. Right? We were. This pictures says it all. It says 4 days of nonstop activity. No sleep. Lots of miles run. Injuries. Lots of water drunk & lots of resulting bathroom stops for TweedleSmallBladder.

And the party moves on........... onwards ho. To the Piano Men.

Oh how I love this place!

We paid our cover and headed in- it was still pretty empty and so we got a decent table near the front.

And we quickly ordered a round of shots. And some popcorn. Don't ask me what the shots were. I have no recollection. Therefore I shall call it the "jellyroll shot'

And then we moved on to other drinks. Also, can not remember what they were. At one point there was a drink that tasted like cough syrup. I dunno... I know Tammie is looking for some drink count here & I have no idea how many we actually downed. A shot & I want to say at least 2-3 mixed drinks after that for the Tweedles?!

Soon the show was starting- and I was quite excited to see some of my favorites were playing tonight (the sign of someone who has been to Disney too much- they have favorites).

The rest of our party arrived. And we got to the business of singing, drinking, laughing & having a good time. As cupcakes are prone to do!!!

The youngin's wanted newer songs. But I dunno, to me, the thrill of the Piano Bar is the older well known sing-along songs! Elton John, Billy Joel, Little Sweet Caroline & always some "Living on a Prayer" mixed in with Devil Went Down to Georgia.... However, this guy was playing which made the youngin happy....because he's cute!

There was an all too brief hour or so of the very drunk lady to keep us entertained. She had announced that she had been 'drinking since 10am' (it was now like 9pm). She kept trying to run up on stage to the piano players. Then she'd get up and dance all suggestively, by herself... till someone yelled at her to sit down. Then she started engaging in fights with other people who did not like her twerking. And then finally after one too many rushes up to molest the piano players they booted her out the joint. It was great fun to watch and I know Edie got some pictures & video although we shall refrain from posting and embarrassing (further) that lady who made quite a spectacle of herself that night! Consider it my random act of kindness for the day. Hahahaha.

My Tweedle drinking her cough syrup drink...

Cheers to a great weekend, great friends & memories made!

I think around midnight we decided to call it a day. At this point we were coming up on almost 24 hours of activity (including the 1/2 that took place just that same day!!). It was time for bed!!

Morning would come much too quickly and we would be forced to say our goodbyes after a year of planning, dreaming & finally meeting. Boo.

Well - what you have to remember is that they won't play the same song on a night more than once, so if you request a song they already played, they won't play it again. If you request a song they already played with a massive tip, they'll track you down and ask for a different request. And actually I lied about them playing anything. When we were there last time someone requested something (with the big tip) they actually admitted they couldn't do it (it was a rap song, I can't remember what) and then one of the piano guys went out in audience and consulted with them to pick a different song. Also, they get more requests than they have time to play them, so if you don't tip or give a small tip (<$5) you may not get your song. So yes, they won't always play your request / play everything, but they do a pretty good job of it.

Looks like you had a great night at jelly rolls. I can't believe we are so close to the end. I wish it didn't have to end lol.

I think it's more likely that she's just following Ed around and is too busy trying to evade his security to stop by the DIS.

Nah, she's just crazy busy with work.

... or that.

Shots and popcorn ... interesting combination.

Videos would be nice ... but I think the story is entertaining enough!

That's a long day! I think you deserved at least 2-4 days of sleep as a reward!

It was early & we did tip.. .so the song hadn't been played. But I honestly can't remember the song requested (it wasn't me) and I remember giggling so it's POSSIBLE it may have been an inappropriate (for Disney) song. :) I want to say it was I Touch Myself.. but I'm not 100% sure on that.

Looks like you had a great night at jelly rolls. I can't believe we are so close to the end. I wish it didn't have to end lol.

I wish I was still there! I'm going to leave it to Karen to finish up because the next morning were her creative shots. So it might not end anytime soon since she's MIA.

I think it's more likely that she's just following Ed around and is too busy trying to evade his security to stop by the DIS.

I read this and bust out laughing at my desk! :rotfl2: I think you got it spot on!! Too funny!!!!!

Shots and popcorn ... interesting combination

What? You don't do shots with popcorn? :drinking1popcorn::

(popcorn comes free).

That's a long day! I think you deserved at least 2-4 days of sleep as a reward!

Tell me about it! Then tell it to my work bosses!

You do realize that Karen is a big star in the Twitterverse and may not have the time to deal with us Little-Dis-don't-take-your-shirt-off-for-singers-people. It's all good. You still got the rest of us, Nicole!! I see you survived Shark Week and Sharknado 3!!! That's awesome! OH, what I wouldn't give to see the embarrassing Drunken Twerk Lady! See, Drunken Grandma is not THAT BAD!!! In comparison! Jellyrolls looks like tonz of fun and of course the company you kept looked fun, too!!! We'll be waiting patiently for the next update!!! :sail:

I know, she's famous. I know a famous person. I am very excited about that. :bounce:

And I know she'll keep me around regardless of the fact that I have never traded shirt with Ed, just so she can watch me fall off buses & visit every bathroom in DisneyWorld. My friendship is worth it's own weight in gold based on these perks alone! :rotfl2:

OhMyGod.. did you see that shark attack at the surfer competition last weekend. The size of that fin next to you in the water?!? I would have died from heart attack! :faint:

Drunken Grandma has her own qualities. I believe you engaged in FB banter with her where she stated she tried to pay horses to buck me off the side of a cliff?!

Also, much more importantly... YOU ARE A MONTH OUT FROM YOUR TRIP!!! HOW EXCITING!!!!
:jumping1:

And we got to the business of singing, drinking, laughing & having a good time. As cupcakes are prone to do!!!

That sounds awesome.

they booted her out the joint.

So funny. Though I can't say I've seen anyone get booted out of a bar at Disney lol! Looks like a really good time and my kinda night. I hope one day I get to go to Disney without kids...or perhaps it will wait until my kids are old enough to go with me lol. It does look like the show in Vegas but I'm sure Disney it's more fun...just because you are at Disney lol. I agree though...the old standards that you can sing along to are a lot of fun. Although...it's also fun to watch an old piano man try to play and sing "Barbie Girl" lol

I actually got booted out of a bar in Disney- back in the 90's. I had just turned 21 & we were in a group where several were just shy of 21 at Pleasure Island and a security guard caught me sharing my drinks and escorted us off the property.

Oh how I have missed Tweedle humor...and I find myself being talked about way too much in your last few updates! I really needed to read all this today (first day back at work) so you can tell how productive I am being! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Now to wait around to see if you ladies did any drinking on the way home!:drinking1

Let me kill that suspense for you- no. :)

Jellyrolls looks so fun! Makes me wish we were not bringing kids with us when we stay at the boardwalk (I just kidding, I think...;))
I hate it when I get drinks that taste like cough syrup, I mean really, doesn't someone test these things out first?

Also, I totally agree with you Billy Joel, Elton John and the like are the best to hear at piano bars. Many new artists just don't translate well to that format, stick with the classics!

Oh man, I'm so sorry. I really have fallen off the Disneywagon! :scared: It's not my fault, trade shirts with a famous ginger and get sucked into a whole other fandom. :laughing:Is my color blue? I can't even remember! I didn't completely abandon Disney in my head, I'm kind of stashing it away for fall/winter blues! We have this upcoming 1200 mile roadtrip (Tweedle! 17 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!) :cheer2::cool1::dance3::banana::woohoo:party:

anyway, it's a trip to see Ed again, two more times, I'm sure you are surprised since we are clearly now groupies...but they don't call people like us groupies anymore, it's FANGIRLS. Sounds way better, right? :lmao:

So I know after that, there are no more trips until our Disney April mother/daughter trip, so I thought I could jump back into Disneyobsession at that point. Tweedle logic. :crowded:

I GUESS I can bring myself to finish up this report, I think ending it will just make me so sad!

ok, off to pull the last day of pics...
