September 4th
Hi guys!
It has been a long, but very fun day! I'm going to make this short and sweet again.
Polynesian Club Level Breakfast
Muffins (Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, Oat Bran), Fruit Salad and Oatmeal (which DMom said was AMAZING!)
Mini Croissants and Mini Bagels
Cereal (Corn Flakes, Raisin Bran, Fruit Loops and Frosted Flakes)
Cranberry Juice, Orange Juice, Skim Milk, Milk (Apple Juice and Chocolate Milk available on request)
Overall, I felt the breakfast offerings were very good. I think there is enough selection to please everyone.
Liberty Tree Tavern
First off, the MK was soooo quiet this morning! We walked onto Splash Mountain and there was NO ONE in line ahead of us! Then we walked onto Big Thunder, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Hall of Presidents. Literally, each ride we just walked right through the queue and onto the ride.
At Liberty Tree Tavern, we were seated at a lovely table that was at a bay window, facing the Liberty Tree and the Hall of Presidents.
Our server, Tyler, was very attentive and had a great sense of humour. He was easily the best server we have had at Liberty Tree. As a side note, ALL the Cast Members we have encountered thus far have been exceptional!
We started with:
Crab & Spinach Dip - This had very large pieces of crab in a creamy, slightly spicy sauce, topped with parmesan cheese and tomatoes. We loved it! (The table was decorated for DMom and DDad's anniversary! )
We also had the:
Tavern Fried Cheese - I know this is just fried cheese, but for some reason, Liberty Tree does it better than anywhere!
DMom had the:
Colony Salad - She loved this and said the chicken had a lovely smokey flavor.
DDad and I each had the:
Pilgrim's Feast - I cannot say enough about how much I love this dish. It is wonderful! The cornbread stuffing is to die for, the turkey is very moist and juicy, the green beans are still crunchy and garlicy! Mmmm!
At the end of the meal, Tyler brought this for DMom and DDad:
It may not look like much, but that was one insanely tasty cupcake
Polynesian Club Level Evening Offerings
Pineapple Pulled Pork served with Pineapple Coconut Bread - WOW! These were delicious!
Spinach Samosas - Very interesting twist on a Spanikopita (spinach and feta pastry). These had quite the spicy kick, but I loved them.
For those interested, Chef Eugene was constantly refilling the offerings. Every time I walked by he was putting out new plates of food.
Cheese & Crackers, Humus and Pita, Pulled Pork, Samosas, Pineapple Gazpacho and a glass of punch
We are finding the offering this year to be more flavourful and more memorable than last year.
Epcot
We went to Epcot this evening with a plan of hitting La Cava del Tequila and Via Napoli.
First up, some pictures of Hacienda de San Angel!
La Cava del Tequila
As we were still full from the lounge offerings, we decided to simply order drinks.
I had the Magic Blue Margarita and DMom & DDad each had a Sol beer.
We had our way over to Via Napoli
However, we discovered that they were no longer taking walk ups for the night (they had a list of about 20 families waiting to be seated as of 7:45pm).
So, we wandered over to Chefs de France to see if we could get in for some French Onion Soup and Baguette.
By 8:10 we were seated at a lovely window table
Even though it was very hot out, we always find this soup to be the ultimate comfort food
Coming up tomorrow: Two "California's" in one day: California Pizza Kitchen and California Grill!
