I know, I know, this is a totally insane question to ask on these forums and I dont expect anyone to reply ok? BUT! I've got a bet with my wife after the two of us read an article about Timeshare owners and so on.

The median US income right now is around $45K / yr and we read that 80% of all Timeshare owners are double the median income ($90k or so).

Anyhoo! I told her I was SURE that many many many DVC owners were not DOUBLE the median income lvl.

So, Im posting a poll to win this bet (who makes dinner on the 4th of July). All you have to do is post your poll. You don't have to make a post if you don't want to.

Keep the flaming to a minimum. I'm an old man :wizard:

My household annual income fluctuates a lot, so I didn't answer.

That $45K figure includes a lot of household with just one person. Timeshare-owning households usually have two adults, and therefore have a higher median income. The US census says median income for households with four people was $65k in 2003. (See http://www.census.gov/hhes/income/4person.html)

I suspect you are correct, but it will be interesting to see how the poll develops.

Clarification, please.
Are you asking about my INDIVIDUAL income, or my total HOUSEHOLD income?
Thanks.
Kelley

"Annual Family Income" That would be what is brought into your household by those who are working on an annual basis. Net worth is something totally different.

The last thread on this subject showed that about 1/2 of the people had incomes over 100 grand.

However, when you ask questions like this you get folks like me who think that this is none of your business and lie just to screw up the results. (Don't take it personally, I like to phone survey folks or just about anyone else who thinks they need this type of info!) I am either at the top or bottom depending on what the ranges are and what I feel like doing.

I didn't even bother to reply.

Actually you DID reply LOL :cool1:

I'll just put you down for UNDER $90k. I hate to cook :rotfl2:

But really I have NO income LOL! (That always get the survey folks... )

I think the fallacy in your arguement is that while the median income for WDW GUESTS is probably lower than most of us think (which brings up those screamed comments like "you are going to enjoy this vacatio for what it cost us so BE HAPPY!"), I think that most "average" joes wouldn't even consider a timeshare and/or are not aware of DVC. I certainly wasn't until our 4-5 trip - not aware enough to stop and get information, etc.

Happy grilling!!!

So I guess we'll put you down as "over $90k". :cool1:

I'll admit that we're in the highest poll category and consider myself extremely fortunate to be there. I'd taken it as a given that most DVC owners were a bit above the median. Or we wouldn't be buying into DVC.

I figured it would be about 50% over $90k and 50% below $90k. Looks like I was wrong.
