What was one of the most awkward places/ways that you were stuck on at a ride in WDW?

Back in 2008 we were stuck on Dinosaur for about 15 minutes. It was DDs first time on and, being 5, she was terrified as it was. Then, when we got stuck, it literally was right where you get your picture taken - where the giant dinosaur hovers over the car roaring. While they shut off the animatronic, they did not shut off the sound loop. Needless to say, DD had nightmares and still, to this day, refuses to go back on.

Last October we came to a hard stop on the steepest bank of TT. The brakes squealed and smoked, I felt like I was truly a part of a test! I was on the outside closest to the track and had to hang onto my husbands seat belt to keep from hanging out.

About 20 minutes or so a mechanic came out and pushed us all the way to the end. When we went by the mirrors people were whistling and cheering. I must admit, it was kinda awesome! :thumbsup2

I would love to be walked off a ride, especially a dark ride . And in most cases, I actually like short delays and having extra time to look around.

It would make me nervous if a ride malfunctioned right before a big drop. For me, being on TOT or Splash Mountain right before the drop would be the worst. RNR or being in the hot or cold rooms on TT would be pretty bad too.

I agree. I have no issues with being broken down - I love the chance to really take it in.

I have been stuck in the "white room" of IASW for 20+ minutes, on Splash for 15 or so (in the area before the ascent to the big drop), I have been stuck on TTA in the pitch dark (many times...love it..), and most recently, I rode EE during evening magic hours. Dark outside already, and I was a single rider sitting next to a man I didn't know, and we got stuck outside super high up, in the pitch black. We were stuck a good 10 minutes....

I love being stuck backwards on HM and SSE...I close my eyes and rest a bit.

The first time DH & I took our oldest DD to MK (she was just under 2) we got stuck on Haunted Mansion where you go backwards into the graveyard scene. We were stuck there for a long time basically lying on our backs. Eventually they turned all the lights on and came around to walk us out of the ride.

That's the same place we were stuck once. Thank goodness it was before we had kids, my DD would probably have had a meltdown being stuck on a ride...unless it was Dumbo lol.

DH got stuck with our kids on the SKI LIFT at BB or TL (can't remember which).

I was waiting at the top & they were SOOOO close, then, the ride just stopped. They were stuck there for about 1/2 hour. We never learned why it stopped.

I got stuck a few times for 10-15 minutes, in Tomorrowland Trasit Authority in the part were it is dark, in the final scene of IASW (pure torture) and the scene with Jack Sparrow singing in POC, like some of you

I also got stuck what seems like an eternity in Nemo, during the scene were Dory don't remember the name of Nemo and keep intoducing herself.....I assure you, after 20 times I was going crazy !!! :rotfl2: It is now a running gag when we rode that attraction !

In Kilimanjaro Safaris, our vehicule stopped, completely, just as we were approaching the rhinos... and our driver was unable to make it work again..she seems a little worried to be honest ! She had to restart. We stayed there 10-15 minutes, so we had times to make beautiful pictures. After that we were offered to take another safaris, so we were in the savannah approximately 1 hour ! It turned out to be my best safari experience !

We were stuck on the Back Lot tour on the bridge part at the canyon. The special effects of the canyon malfunctioned and didn't go off. Rather than moving forward, we had to sit and wait for maintenance to come and fix the effects. We sat in that hot car on this bridge in 90 degree September weather for a good 20-25 mins when finally the effects were fixed. Not worth waiting for, IMO.

We also got stuck on the incline of the big hill on Splash Mountain. Probably only about 5-7 mins but felt much longer!

I have been stuck backwards in the HM graveyard scene and in Finding Nemo where you go through the "EAC" (had to close my eyes for 10 minutes) and of course on IaSW. Doesn't everyone get stuck on that?

I honestly had no idea that people were getting stuck so often. And why? I always thought they were getting someone with a DISability on/off the ride and it took a little longer. But now I am thinking perhaps it is something else.

We were stuck on Splash Mountain almost to the peak on the incline on the big drop. It felt like our legs were above us. You couldn't move your head without hurting. We were there for about 10 minutes but felt like a lot more. We were thrilled when it started moving.

Another time we were on Spaceship Earth & it was 15 minutes. I just took a nap until we started moving again.

Every time we've been stuck on IASW it has always been in the last room. We wait about 20+ minutes in there every time. IASW is such a slow loading ride, and there are also a lot of people with disabilities that also slows the ride down even more.

I got stuck in July on Buzz my son's favorite ride in the movie section were you are shooting at the allround movie for at least 15 minutes. I could have racked up serious points but my giddy toddler twirled us like we were on an extented teacup ride:eek: He had a great time and never realized that something was wrong.

Years ago before they changed the ride in Mexico to the Three Caballeros, we got stuck for well over 20 minutes. They had to escort everyone out the back of the ride. Just a lot of trash compactors there from what I remember, I was really young.

In 2008, we got stuck on Space Mountain and all the lights turned on. Our car slowed down and stopped, but the ones up higher going down the slopes were still going pretty fast. It was scary to watch because we weren't moving it looked as if they were going to crash into us!

The Seas with Nemo & Friends, in the turtle tunnel with all of the bubbles whizzing by. Our "shell" stopped for a few minutes while our vision was filled with swirling bubbles whizzing by.

What's normally a cute scene with Nemo swimming and giggling with his turtle pals quickly became a dizzying, nauseating blur that we couldn't wait to get away from.

It almost made me wish I had one of the "space barf bags" they had on Mission:Space when we rode it the one and only time right after it opened.

just remembered another ride we got stuck on our last trip. On TSMM, each stage we stopped for at least 5 minutes. it got so obnoxious i actually now kind of hate the ride... it lost its appeal for me when you can't get through a carnival game type ride without finishing it all properly and without interruptions. its hard to describe, but i can't see the hype after getting stuck on it like that. i dunno why this trip was the start stop ride trip...

We just got back from a 10 day trip.

We got stuck on the dinosaur ride at AK, right where one of the big ones moves toward the car. Lights went on; took about 10 minutes.

But the best this trip was on the People Mover. The ride shut down when we were well out of the station. Took about 20 minutes until they came and walked us all back along the path next to the track. It was pretty neat and I got photos of us walking there. A behind the scenes moment.

Years ago we got stuck on Space Mountain with the light coming on. When we finally got to the unloading area they told us we could just hop on again w/o waiting on line, so that was neat.

I got stuck at the exit of Splash Mountain for 45 minutes once. Not the tunnel to the loading dock, not the last scene, I was AT THE EXIT. The ride had gone down and they'd stopped all the boats, and for some reason no one thought to lift the lap bars of the boat that was already done with their riding. It was right at the end of the night and I had the whole log to myself, too, which made it really kind of creepy (it was during a day off on my CP).

I've been stuck on many rides at WDW but there is one instance that comes to mind...

I can't remember what year it was, but my family and I went on Tomorrowland's CoP to get out of a nasty summer storm. Bad decision. For some reason they could not rotate the rooms due to the storm so we were stuck in the first scene and had to watch it 4 times. Let's just say by the 3rd time around people started to add their own commentary to it.

All the usual suspects get us all the time as well.

HM, RnRC, PoTC. Luckily, no ToT for me yet.

But the IaSW is BY FAR the worst in my opinion. I can ride that once a trip and it's cute. But to get stuck for more than 10 minutes in certain spots is just plain awful.

I HAVE to give an honorable mention to something I almost consider a ride. I have not seen anyone mention it yet but here goes.

Monorail! I love kids. I love people. But man, when that thing breaks down after parks close and you're jammed on there with tired children and frustrated parents. It really does make sitting in IaSW for 20 minutes look good.

We got stuck on the people mover one time...in a PITCH BLACK area!! For 35 minutes!! :scared1: My DD 3 at the time was fit to be tied!! Luckily, DH being the "boy scout of preparedness" that he is had a flashlight! Saved the Day for sure on that one!! :cutie:

We once got stuck in Splash Mountain, RIGHT BENEATH the high pitched singing possum... it ...was special... yeah... special...
