When is a good time for an "off season" visit but not too cold?

We want to start planning a trip for 2018 - 2019 - not tied to school schedule and prefer a time when the parks will be less crowded. However, not "real winter" because we don't want to be too cold! Any ideas??? Thank you!

June was nice and hot but more crowded than say February, so I'd say maybe May would be a good choice? Not sure if theres holidays during that time.

September is still quite warm and low crowds, as is early October. There are several French holidays in early May, which we encountered one year, very busy. UK schools have a holiday towards the end of the May too - so try and avoid both of these times. Regardless of when you choose to go, always try for mid-week. Weekends are always busier.

Depending on school holidays May can be good, but it's a bit tricky to find the correct dates... So personally I'd choose from mid September to mid October (and during the week) it's really the best time to go. We used to go every year mid-October (before we had a child and had to follow school holidays...) and it was always really perfect, sunny, not too cold (sometimes even warm), and not crowded at all. Plus Halloween!! September is probably quieter (the later the better) but you usually get the start of the Halloween decorations without any of the Halloween fun...
