OMG! You aren't going to believe this. I got a Ding for SW for my return flight in May......$29!!!!! So, I canceled and rebooked both legs, because the flight down was a bit cheaper too! I now have a $263 credit that I can use toward my October trip! So airfare for 3 of us for our May trip is $381!

Hi all!

Well yesterday was a nightmare! We were to leave Peoria at 10:45 am. The flight was delayed till 11:30, then delayed till 12:45. It was finally canceled. We stood in line for 3 hours to see what was going on with our flights. They had already rebooked us on another flight leaving at 4:45 pm. This flight was delayed as well. We finally arrived in Atlanta around 8 pm last night. We were told that we would be given a room because we have a 21 hour layover in Atlanta. Let's just say that Delta customer service is the worst I have ever encountered! I know they cannot control the weather, but they need to work on their customer skills.

After arriving in Atlanta I stood in yet another long line only to be told it was not their responsibility to give us a room. Gary had gone to get our luggage. Neither of us have been to this airport before. So we did not know that once you go to baggage claim you cannot get back in. So I wait for Gary getting frantic because I do not know what is going on. I hear a page with my name, but I did not hear where it said to go. Finally I decide to go to the baggage in hopes this is where Gary is. I was so happy to find Gary, I was in tears!

Gary had also found a Delta employee that gave us a hotel voucher & food vouchers. We made it to the hotel at midnight. We leave out of Atlanta today at 4:45 pm. So we are a day late & Gary is very upset. He has planned this for so long, but what can you do?

I truley hope today is better & less stressful. We did lose out on our train tickets from Dusseldorf to Amsterdam & the 1st night stay at our hotel in Amsterdam. Gary did email them that we would arrive Sat., but we have not heard back. Hopefully they will still have our room.

I called Chanon earlier & was able to find out about our seats on the plane. Not really what we wanted, but there again it looks like we are stuck. Thank you Chanon for trying to help me! It was nice talking to someone who knows what they are doing :goodvibes

I am going to call Chanon later to let her know that if flight has taken off.

So Tammi's Scorcerer Mickey purchase this morning got me thinking that we should have one for our next trip. That is our favorite version of any Disney Character. So what is a good price on Ebay for him? I'm also looking at big lots of trading pins. I'm thinking we'll need about 100 pins between the 3 boys for 3 weeks. There was on lot of 100 pins for $150 plus $15 shipping. They are all Disneyland Paris pins. Anyone know anything about trading DLP pins at WDW?

I won the auction with a bid of 39.99 plus shipping was 9.99. I've seen them go anywhere from $40-$50. Mine was "used once" so I hope it is in good condition. It doesn't say anything about a belt clip, so I'm assuming that it doesn't have one, which we won't use anyway. I'll get a lanyard for him when we get down there. I'm going to PM you about the pins.

good for you! I didn't get the DING! but when I went to check my small screen there was something there. However, I can't seem to get any of it to load properly! GRRRRRRRRRRR

Just try going to southwest.com and plug in your dates. If a ding fare is good it will show that way too.

yeah, I found it. I can get the $29 for the trip home but not for the trip down. Although $79 isn't bad at all. are you all leaving on the a.m. flight on the 28th??

so if I book the flights separately and the flight from Dulles to MCO comes down I can rebook that portion and get a lower fare? But if I book it as RT and the flight down does down I can't do anything about it? I think I have that straight.
 
I would not open the emails anymore and definitely don't contact him. Any attention from you good or bad would lead him to believe that you care about him. He sounds like he thrives on manipulation and if you respond he has you hooked again. If you are worried about threats maybe you could forward the emails to someone you trust and have them read them just to make sure that he is not threatening you. I would probably even change my email address as it is unlikely that he would use your family to track you down. If he were to contact a family member or friend would they give him info? Luckily, I don't think that they would. Living so close to my family now, they would know that there must be some reason I'm not responding or would just simply pass on the fact that he contacted them. The friends that he would know were friends of his at one time and he separated from that whole group himself on not the best of terms so I don't see that he would even try and they certainly wouldn't help him as they were privy to the circumstances with the first girl who was and is a friend of theirs.

Book separately. If you book r/t, you can't cancel just the flight down. You have to cancel both and then you might lose the $29 fare, because you would have to rebook the flight from mco to iad at the going rate. Yes, we are going on the 7:30 flight. Will you be joining us???? :teeth:

What a day! I hope that tonight finds you happily landing in Amsterdam with no problems moving forward. Enjoy a few hours in Atlanta and have a great trip!

Are any of the DDA involved in the bus accident with the baseball players from Ohio? Airtran is offering free airfare for the families to get them to Atlanta. This is beyond heartbreaking. Between this and the tornado hitting the school, the news just couldn't be sadder. My heart is just breaking with all this bad news.....
