i have a faculty meeting this morning so gotta get ready...this week was a killer so i cant wait for this week to be over! have a great day

Updates on wedding plans! I meet with photographer #2 on Thursday! DJ is paid off! Florist says I'm too early though (Go figure! Doesn't he know I'm a planner??? :rotfl: ) but I did decide on centerpieces. I'll have to take some pics of them through the shop window. They are nothing spectacular - just the tall vases, about 36 inches, with golden branches and crystals hanging from them...but they will give the room height. Mom is still trying to convince me to do a Disney theme wedding, but too many people are expecting that from me...

Oops Sorry! I forgot you were looking forward to your first one. I should have just said it wasn't anywhere near as bad as everyone made it out to be!!!! I'll take it over the other female exam every year.

Yes, I agree with this, and I'm not exactly small chested.

I'm looking forward to a trip sometime in my life to Yellowstone and the other parks out that way. I would love to go camping there.

I went to Yellowstone when I was in high school. I had an aunt and uncle who lived in Wyoming not too far from there. I accompanied my grandmother out by train (she wouldn't fly). We visited Salt Lake City on that trip, and camped for several days at Yellowstone. The nights were cold (around freezing) in August, but it was a great time. I want to take my kids one day.

Aunt Stell is home from the hospital. They tell her that she is 99% fine and is able to continue her regular life. She got lucky. Thanks for all your thoughts & prayers. I have lots of aunts & uncles. I do not look forward to each passing year. We have been very lucky that we have lost so few of us.

Until my father died in the car accident 8-1/2 years ago, every one of my grandparents decendents who survived birth were still alive including my grandparents. My dad has 12 brothers & sisters, 11 of them married, and 10 of them had children. I have lots & lots of cousins, second cousins, third cousins ... you get the picture. I was very close to all of them growing up. Since losing my father, my grandmother died after having something similar to alzheimers, grandpa died a year or so later from a broken heart (he told us it was just too hard to go on without her), my Aunt Carol died of complications from adult onset diabetes which she had battled for years, and one uncle by marriage died. One of these days, the flood gates are going to open and I will be attending funerals left & right.

My mom has 8 brothers & sisters when you include those that are 1/2. We have lost quite a few on that side but we were not close with them except for my favorite aunts husband who we lost 24 years ago and my grandparents. My grandfather died of old age when I was 16 and my grandmother died when I was 23.

I dread them all getting older. It hit me hard when we heard about Aunt Stell. She is one of those that was special to dad. She was his older sister and there was only one older. They all have had illnesses where they have been in the hospital but very seldom is it anything life threatening. I dread the flood gates. :sad1:

 I'm glad that Aunt Stell is doing so well. Getting older and seeing the generation before you age is awfully hard.

Deb - I say start to plan that western US vacation! One of the best vacations my family ever took was in 1967. My Dad took 6 weeks off and we rented a pretty good sized travel trailer. We took the southern route from PA through the midwest and TX, AZ and NM. Then we headed up the west coast through California (my first Disney Park experience!) and Oregon and Washington. Coming home we went through the norther tier of states.

We saw everything from the Painted Desert and the Grand Canyon to the Redwoods, Crater Lake and Mt. Ranier. There were the Badlands and Custer's Last Stand as well as Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. So many other stops along the way that I cannot even begin to list here! What a gorgeous country we have!!

It was the most amazingly powerful vacation I have ever taken and I would love to be able to afford to do it again someday. One of the best things about the summer before my Dad died was that he and I sat in their living room for many weekends going through all the pictures from that trip and cataloguing them and talking about the trip. We did not have any idea that he would die that December so I hold those memories very close to my heart. :) And it is one of the reasons I still try to afford a couple of vacations a year for my family. The "stuff" I had growing up is long forgotten but those trips I took as a child are still fresh in my mind. Over the years we did 4 weeks in Canada and 2 weeks in New England. There were beach trips and vacations in PA. I think I could track our itineraries on a map to this day!

Elin, that is almost exactly what I want to do Summer 2008! I need to work on dh to use all his vacation time at once (though I think we'll have only 4-5 weeks to use instead of 6) and convince him that we can afford it (if we even can). Since we don't have as much time, I wasn't thinking of going as far south as Texas. I haven't really begun to plan yet, but that is my dream for next July, beginning of August. The only other consideration is the kids. They seem all for it right now, but it would pretty much be their entire summer. Cross country practice starts mid-August, and we don't get out of school until the end of June. It is the summer before Matthew's senior year, so it's almost now or never.

Sounds great to me!

Tia I hope Terra's eye is feeling better :wizard:

Thanks for the concern everyone! We did end up going to the doctor yesterday afternoon as the eye was still really red and puffy. She did have a small scratch right in the middle of the lens. They gave us some antibiotic eye drops to protect from any germs in rubbing, but she should be as good as new in a day or so.

Elin~ a  and here's hoping the the traffic isn't too bad. The obituary was very moving. I'm sure I missed you though!!

Debbie~ Sending prayers and :wizard: for your brother

Tammi~ Prayers and :wizard: for your uncle

Tia~ Hope Terra is feeling better today :wizard:

Elizabeth~ Sorry to hear about Amanda. Did your bosses accept the slot for brother?

Jennifer~ Here's wishing Brad a speedy recovery. :wizard:

Sending out a  and :wizard: to everyone else that I may have missed.

We have been outside enjoying the nice weather we have had along with gymnastics, Emma's 1st soccer game (which they won!) and all my down time during the day (when the kids nap) I have been cleaning and organizing our basement.

I probably won't get a chance to pop in until Sunday. We have to go shopping tonight and tomorrow is another soccer game, our traditional Easter Egg making day with my mom and aunt's and cousins and finally dinner with my 2 of my girlfriends and their families. Have a great weekend!!

Does anyone know if there is a "formal night" on the 4 day Wonder cruise?

Lindsay and Becky were spot on with their advice. You will see everything from people in tuxes to people in jeans. In fact, a family on our dining rotation last summer wore jeans to dinner every single night. They were the obnoxious family everyone talked about because it was obvious they thought they were "beautiful" and so hip that they didn't need to dress like everyone else! :rotfl:

Well that's the last straw in John never cruising. Even if I could get him over his fear of water, he would never agree to dress up. Heck I am lucky he wore a tux to our wedding.

There are a lot of other options -- I've seen many people on the cruise board talk about skipping the dining room on formal night and eating up on deck 9 or getting room service, so don't let John use that excuse!

just giving a heads up that i probably will not be on this weekend. we are throwing my dad a surprise birthday party saturday and i get to entertain my aunt and uncle all day tomorrow till about 3 then they have to head to the hotel or where ever to stay away from my dad. my brother will be staying where the computer is so i will not be on till late sunday or even monday.

one other thing could you please put marsha gonzoles(sp) on your prayer list. she is my moms coworker and just found out she has breast cancer. i think they scheduled a lumpectame for friday. they are going to place something in her breast to see if it has spreed once they take the lump out.

PD and prayers for Marsha!

Fabulous news on Aunt Stell! I'm so happy to hear she is doing much better.

Don't beleive all the hype, my sister is very large chested and had no pain at all with her mamao.

I had to have two last summer, as they found suspicious tissue the first time. I think it all depends on the tech -- I'm a 36DD and it didn't hurt either time.

Thanks for the concern everyone! We did end up going to the doctor yesterday afternoon as the eye was still really red and puffy. She did have a small scratch right in the middle of the lens. I'm glad Terra is doing better.

We had bad weather last night, and after a particularly loud clap of Thunder around 10:15, I could hear feet hitting our floors, and around the corner came Jake. He slept with us last night. While I didn't sleep as well, it was kind of nice having our "baby" close.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Good morning, DDA! Hope the day is looking bright for everyone.

I got my PassPorter News email this morning and read a really fun tip. I think I'm going to dig out some of my postcards for Terra.

"My family collected post cards from specific rides and places we visited in Walt Disney World. I brought them home and laminated them for my children (ages 3 and 7) to use when they play post office with their wooden mailbox. They can pick a post card and talk about their memories of our trip and help them keep up the excitement for our next visit."

Has anyone tried the new PassPorter Club yet?
http://www.passporter.com/club/

The idea and the worksheets look pretty cool, but I was wondering if anyone had tried them yet.

I'd like to, but I haven't had time. I like that they are offering free e-sheets to help explain the program. I hope to research it more soon.

Hi Terra.
Oh my how big she is gettin'.

I know, I can't believe it! She measured 40" at the doctor yesterday and is so excited.  I think the in-laws are flying us out to CA in May and we'll hit DL at least one day, more if we can get people to sign us in two days. She can ride Star Tours now which she has talked about for months. Unfortunately, Splash will be closed as I think she'd love it. Space Mountain in DL is 40" as well so we may venture that since I can sit next to her on it. We'll see though.

Chanon, who cares if everyone is expecting a Dinsey theme? If that is what you want then I say go for it. :goodvibes
