awwww SNAP does that mean that the tag fairy has been flitting through these pages...:scared1: :scared1: uh oh

Geez! I miss ONE lousy day and I've got TWELVE PAGES to catch up on!!! :scared1:

Can you hear me groaning? I'm gonna be a good girl and go back to the last stuff I missed and start my ketchup.

I slept in a little yesterday. Not used to getting home at midnight (yikes). I had a fun time Saturday night and then we spent yesterday cleaning house, buying a tree, getting the tree inside, stringing lights on the tree, and then unboxing and hanging ornaments on the tree. I have pictures and I'll get them up if I can ever get back to this page again. I may get lost somewhere back around page 515. If you don't hear from me soon, send out a virtual search party...

Hi Tricia,
We missed you yesterday! I'm so glad you had a good time with your friend on Saturday night. What did you do? I remember you posting what you were doing, but can't remember, a friends band perhaps?

Sounds like you had a productive day on Sunday. I bet the boys were lots of help hanging ornaments! :rotfl2:

How did Carol make out over the weekend? I sure hope she is feeling at least a little bit better.

3-8 Atlanta @ 2-9 St Louis GO FALCONS:yay:

Well, we didn't win... but we didn't stink quite as bad as we have some weeks. How's that for hunting up a positive?

Oh, first of all, I have to tell you. DH is missing DS12's Christmas piano recital because that weekend (2 weeks from now) he HAS to be in St. Louis for business (after being out of town somewhere else all week). Well, guess what he JUST figured out? :confused3 Completely coincidentally? :sad2: The Packer's just HAPPEN to be playing in St. Louis that weekend! So although he was supposed to come home Saturday night, now of course he should just stay until Sunday so he can support them, right? Right? Well, that's what he's claiming at least.

Isn't it amazing that the Packers' just HAPPENED to be in Denver when he went out there for business and just HAPPENED to be in Detroit when we were home. Aren't these amazing coincidences!

I must say that IS an amazing coincidence! Amazing! A whole chain of events that just forced him to be in towns with his team playing football? Hmmm... :rolleyes1

My men just left for the WVU-PITT game tonight. It is going to be COLD! DS12 has:
underarmour shirt
T-shirt
hoodie
football shirt to go over hoodie
his winter coat
my winter coat (due to my "petite" size, it will fit over all of this)

I don't know how he is going to move!!!

I have a mental image of the little brother in A Christmas Story. "I can't put my arms down!" "You can put your arms down once you get to school."

some of these Jelly Belly jelly beans I am eating are nasty

Tricia- you handled Fluffy Muffins with grace and diplomacy. :goodvibes
I hated her type in school. just wanted to beat the pink stuffing right out of them.

well- here goes-
remember, I AM monkish.

everything is wrapped. will all be mailed monday.
Cards are done, will be mailed monday.
all shopped and totally finished with xmas.
my secret ornament has been delivered.
since we are not decorating this year or doing lights( i only do it every couple of years anyway) that is not an issue.

Please dont hate me. well, go right ahead. I will still love you all anyway. :surfweb:

Penny, if the Jelly Belly is bad... spit it out. Nobody will yell at you in your own house if you do.

I tried to handle Fluffy in such a way that she would realize what a clueless moron she is. Her priorities are so clearly out of whack that I doubt I reached her. She is the same mom that walks her kids into school each morning (STILL? After 4 months? They don't know where their room is yet?) and both kids are dragging rolling backpacks behind them. Umm... in my paperwork that I signed at the beginning of the year, it specifically requested NO rolling backpacks. She's a piece of work. :sad2:

I'm proud of you for being done with the Christmas stuff. One year, that'll be me... I hope...

Here is Ally decorating our tree at VWL last year:

Beautiful pictures Lori! An Ally is such a doll. :goodvibes

Well, I am really blessed, with all that's been going on with me, DH and our families. Guess what?? I did win round-trip airline vouchers from the radio station win!! :cool1: They contacted me via email late yesterday morning. I didn't need to call them or initiate the email. They are giving me 4 round-trip vouchers and an extra $300 for spending money, or to pay the taxes for the win. I never won anything big before, so this is great!! I do need to fill out the affidavit and a tax form for the winnings and need to fax the paperwork over to them. After they receive my paperwork, I'm supposed to receive my airfare vouchers I guess within 60 days. That's what it says on the affidavit.
Once I get those airline vouchers in my hand, I can start planning a trip to UO or WDW! Or maybe both!! But we have to make this trip inexpensive. I thought I'd never get back to UO/WDW again, as we don't have the money for that, but with this win, it should hopefully work out ok :cool1:
Mac, I know you wanted to know what happened :)

I told my mom on the phone this afternoon. She was happy for us. We were talking about how to file it when we do our taxes in Jan/Feb coming up. She said she thinks we have to pay 28% of the winning in taxes. I never knew what the percentage was to pay taxes for winnings. My mom loves talking about taxes, filing taxes, etc. as she is an accountant herself. Doing taxes is her specialty.

:cool1: That's great news Rose! What a wonderful way to start planning a trip!

Does your mom want to come down here and have "fun" with my taxes?

Everyone mentions how 'worried' they get about trees taking down power lines moreso than crashing onto their house....we are the opposite! The only 2 trees that would hit our house are 1 outside the kitchen window (which, come to think of it, might be too short and really not reach the house) and the neighbors backyard tree...which would crash onto Bubba if he was sleeping! Our phone, cable and electric lines to our house are all underground...dunno why more companies don't do it that way ...seems like a good idea!

I don't know about everywhere, but around here they can't bury the lines. We can't have natural gas lines either. We live in the foothills and they would have to blast into rock to get anything in the ground.

Now, where I used to live in Atlanta? I think they just wouldn't go to the upfront cost of digging the lines in. So, it's more cost effective to keep replacing poles and repairing lines? I don't think so.

ya dun real gud kid ;)

and....what did you find??? And, amazing what a good ole big fart can do for ya..... I live with him too..... (glad it wasn't a "sick"....rather be gas than sick anyday :thumbsup2 )

How'd that go? Any pix? Did they have fun? Was Brad along, or was he working again?

Hope you have a really awesome time....you deserve it

I'm trying to do real good again, but I feel like I'm drowning in posts and need to come up for air!

Yes, I'm glad Daniel was just full of gas. Well, I mean, I'm not glad that he was full of gas... but as opposed to being sick, I'll take the gas.

We had a fun time at the Christmas on the Square and yes I have a couple of pictures. IF I CAN EVER GET TO THE CURRENT PAGE... okay, I've b*tched enough...

I had a great time at the party. I'll have to see if Leta's pics came out because I forgot my camera.

Got the parental units back over to their house.
Power lines were reattached around 5:00. It took a few hours for the house to warm up, so they stayed for dinner and I drove them the mile and a half to their house.
My step dad is 15 years older than my mom. He is easily stressed when life doesn't go as planned. Has to eat dinner at 4:00 every night (afternoon!) or is grumpy as all get out. Getting old really sucks.

Mom has 5 (4 now) very old, very large, pine trees that tower over the house. Here you can see a couple of them.

In this next photo, you can see that the bottom of the tree is completely rotted. We are worried that the rest of the trees have the same problem. I'm going to call a tree removal company on Monday and get a quote. She had one cut down last year from out back and it was $1200.

There are usually cars parked on the street and in the neighbor's yard across the street where the top of the tree landed. Thank goodness there were none today. One of the plusses of living in a small town is the response time of Public Works. They were on the scene in like 15 minutes! Could'nt do much until the power was turned off, but it was reassuring to see them there. They said they would be back on Monday to clean up the mess. They used a backhoe to haul the tree out of the street and left it in her yard. They used a plow truck to clean the branches out of the street. It was pretty funny watching it!
Ok, now that I have bored you all with the tree saga, its off to bed.
I'm glad that I found you guys. :grouphug:
I hope Tricia made it out with her friend and is enjoying the evening!

It looks like they were lucky that the tree fell when and how it did!

Sagas are NOT boring. Now, if you wanted to tell us about how much the trees in the yard grew yesterday, that might be boring... but downed trees with power outages and such? Not boring. popcorn::

Good luck with finishing that Christmas list.... that's about the size mine is...finish the shopping, bake, ship gifts, take the picture/mail the picture/order the picture cards :guilty: and wrap! So much to do, so little time...
I thought a full 4 weeks between T-Day and Xmas would be great....maybe...IF T-Day wasn't so early this year :headache:

I'll just have to put on my big girl panties (that's "big girl" ....not "granny") and deal with it and gedderdun! :thumbsup2

Have you ever tried Vistaprint dot com for your Christmas picture cards? You can upload your own photo. Choose your background style. Type the personal message you want. Proof it and approve it. They print them up and mail them to you directly. MUCH cheaper than anywhere I've gone to order them myself.

Interesting night tho...We stopped at 7-11 for some Slurpies. Well as we are grabbing them, two young guys, maybe teens, head to the back of the store while keeping their eyes fixated on the counter. Well DF and I go to pay, and these guys move quickly out without buying anything. Well I glanced over and say at least two beers in one guy's pocket. The employee stops him, and the teen starts yelling that he walked in with them in his pockets. (Um, ok, sure) The guy was definitely under the influence, of what tho, I don't know. Well we finish paying, but the employees and the teen are arguing, while three of his buddies are standing outside. Then the guy starts yelling and almost getting violent with the employees. Then they take off, and guess what the cops were at McDonald's down the road!

So that was out interesting evening....kids these days :confused3

OOOooo... another episode of Cops live! Yeah, they walked IN with the beer in their pockets. Uh-huh. How young do you have to be to think anyone is going to buy that?

(the tree....not the kid!)

Good looking tree! Good looking kid too, but I'm guessing he runs you more than 50 bucks a year...

And Tricia - yep, I know about those moms too! In Michigan we called them BP's (Beautiful People). Trust me, it wasn't a compliment! I've also had a few altercations with wonderful people like that. In my experience, they also seemed to be the ones in charge of the PTA (since they liked to hear themselves talk and be the center of attention), which is why I've never gotten involved in the PTA's.

I can't make the PTA meetings. They hold them at 4pm on Thursday afternoons. I have 2 small children and I couldn't drag them to a meeting... and I can't work out babysitting once or twice a month like that. I'm sure she and her club are active members. Whatever.

....and, I didn't know 7-11s in NY sold alcohol :confused3 They do in Fla, NY...I think I'm livin in the wrong state :rolleyes1 ....altho, Sheetz convenience stores just started a 'test' store in central PA selling the alcohol....hopefully it will 'pass' it's test and all PA will eventually sell booze in supermarkets and conv. stores....

All our convenience stores sell beer and wine, but not liquor. You have to go to a "package" store for the hard stuff. Well, I shouldn't say ALL our stores do. I live in a dry county. There are gas stations on every major road just across the county line, so the locals have to drive a few more miles to stock up. Whatever. I don't drink beer at all and I don't drink anything else very often, so I doesn't make much difference to me. I think it is stupid, but whatever.

It was I guess, but I think I have been desensitized to it from teaching young nasty kids :rotfl: . They were blocking the door and I said excuse me to leave. My DF was like why would you do that? Because I wanted to go home of course......;)

:lmao: I can see that. "I know you are stealing, but would you mind letting me through so I can go home?" So polite to the teenage hoods... :rotfl:

I'm really working hard at it! The bad thing is this is pretty much the only thread I post in, there are a few that I do every once in a while, so you guys might get real sick of me if I try to get to 3000.

I won't get sick of you! Will you get sick of me? :guilty:

mr mac has to go to special meetings once a year.
i fly out usually the day before or the day of him being done.

in the past it has been on the east coast but being moved to philly in 08.

i'll let you know when i have the details.
it would be way kewl to meet up with you guys!

I would love to meet up with the two of you as well.....it would be a hoot :rotfl:

don't talk about pathetic unless you are talking about the bears and how they played today..........

now that was pathetic

I think me and jim lasting until the 3rd quarter in the freezing rain and snow and whatnot yesterday was pathetic - we should have just bagged it and sold the tickets......but we managed to have an ok time :thumbsup2

So, now I'm tired from ketchuping.... Tricia is gonna grumble again at all the pages she needs to ketchup on.... :rolleyes1 But, I'm sure her "gals nite out" was well worth it :thumbsup2

Did you hear me grumble? I grumbled. I'm STILL grumbling.

It was really weird out in the hot tub! The sky was kind of a light red color and it seemed almost like twilight, not 11pm! You could see everything ourside easily and no, it wasn't moonlight because there was complete cloud cover (and the snow switching over to freezing rain - joy - to prove it!). We couldn't figure out why it was so light out! :confused3

If Marcie disappears again, I'm thinking alien abduction. Weird light in the sky? Yep. They're coming for her...

:confused3 Not 'into' college scene....have no idea...I'm out on this discussion....Motherfletcher will probably be in on this one....

My mom and sister cheer for GA Tech, where my dad and brother went to college. Other than that, I don't follow college ball either.

Barb - oh, man, am I supposed to have sent my ornament already? I BOUGHT it - thought that meant I was doing well!

I haven't even bought mine! I've shopped! I've looked! I keep hoping that what I thought would be a simple thing to find will just BE there, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I may have to give up and just get something else. Sigh.

I really need to get myself moving - have a load in the dryer a load in the washer and need to find the middlebean's bathing suit top :scared1: Called the vet/kennel, miss sadie has an appointment at 9am and then will be boarded for two nights while we are away. They really take good care of her there :upsidedow

I want to have everything packed tonight and ready to go tomorrow afternoon.....I will miss you guys - don't think we get free internet access, so I will surely be lost come friday......we seem to have alot of night owls in the past few days.....I just know I am going to come home to 20 some pages of news and chit chat (as long as its not about me :flower3: )

Tricia and Marci - here's a story for you:
When DS was starting 5th grade, we had an open house a few days before school started. We showed about 10 minutes early and I was walking around and went oustside of the gym. Well this was where they were setting up the tables for the refreshments. I of course, was polite and said Hello to Fluffy, Beautiful People. And she looked at me and said, "Are you someone I should know?" :confused3 I then introduced myself, "I'm JawsCPA". And she then turned her back on me. DH still laughs about this one. And No, I didn't join the PTA for middle school. I did my duty in elementary school.

WOO HOO - look at my post - #7777.

:lmao: Oh, man! "Should I know you?" :lmao: Priceless. As if you don't even matter in her world. I'd have probably said, "Yes you should know me" and walked away with an evil smile.

ok.....i left this thread on page 506ish - :scared1: wow a bunch of yapping - but its all good :thumbsup2

Got lots to do as we leave for Great Wolf Lodge on Tuesday :cool1:

Stay warm/dry/comfortable everyone - I will check in with you all later!!!

Um, YEAH, there was some yapping! I'm digging my way out of a post hole!

Have fun on your trip!!!

James has just two things on his Xmas list, a t-shirt from his favorite geek store - Think Geek - and an electric razor. Going to be a very boring X-mas for him. Amanda gives me a power point presentation every year with about 50 items on it! One extreme to the next with these two. :lmao:

I fear the years that my kids are old enough. I just know I will get a Power Point presentation, complete with catalog numbers or stores where they are located. :scared:

Morning folks.

Just wanted to say that I'm done with the thread that was supposed to be a celebration about Universal's increase in attendence. But thanks to "Universal-Excitement" he has completely derailed the thread and continues to irritate everyone who responds.

So....I'm done with that thread.

Have a nice day!

I'm done too. I had to get my one last jab in and defend my homies, but I won't go back and give the bitter sicko any more grist for his mill.

Well, any time I mention a girls only trip cause the guys don't really enjoy all of a sudden they start talking about how much they enjoy it. They just don't want us going without them. I think I may try to plan one for hunting season next year. They guys get to do something, why shouldn't we?

I would love to see that power point presentation!:lmao: :lmao:

Now, a girls only trip during hunting season sounds like a good plan. That's thinking ahead Lori!

While I'm waiting for DS to get ready and help me shovel, I found these photos of his senior pics I took one day last fall.

We call this his Abercrombie pose.

This was one of my favorites, but cropped it didn't look to good.

This one was his favorite.

This one is pretty cool, but not for the yearbook

Well I am sorry I offended anyone with my posting. Thought we were just having some fun. I will go back to just relpying occassionally so as not to offend anyone else.

I do want to say that there have been many times that I have come in to many missed pages and if I don't want to read through all of it I don't. I sure don't get upset when people are in here having a good time.

I'm kinda felling like I was the one that got flamed.

Good morning all-

Lori-
I also enjoyed your pics, Christmas at WDW and the one of your DD in the outfit at AK :thumbsup2 . Your DD really looks like Bindi Irwin(Steve Irwin's DD) in that pic :thumbsup2

Tricia- glad you're back and doing ok :thumbsup2

Sharon- enjoyed your pics of your DS :thumbsup2
GLad things went ok with the tree saga. Glad your parents are doing ok

Hi to all I didn't address. I think about you all!

I am betting Tricia is pretty hung over.

Ya know....I was secretly hoping Tricia would stop by and PUI :rolleyes1 oh well....guess she was havin' too much fun.... :confused3

I didn't drink at the party. I know. Bummer. But, I had to drive about an hour each way, so no PUI or hangover. I promise to share the joy the next time I indulge, okay? ;)

big party at lori's place.....
i'll get out the mapquest and be there in about 16 hours.
who is bringing the munchies?

i'll bring the tp so we can do up that one certain person's house lori has mentioned before.....:rolleyes1

So, we've switched the road trip to Lori's house? Okay, I'll have to re-pack my stuff for the different weather...

the jelly belly factory is about a 10 minute drive from my house.
i go there frequently for the tour and free samples.

they advertise locally of discount days where you can buy the rejects.

What does a Jelly Belly reject taste like? :confused3 :scared:

I spent a productive day out shopping. :)

Found the ornament for the exchange today. Boy that turned out to be more of a challenge than I had thought! Was hoping to get it mailed tomorrow, but they are forcasting 8-12 inches of snow. Uggg, I am not ready for this.

A VERY productive day! Cool! I still don't have my ornament bought. :sad1:

ALLRIGHT, i WILL ADMIT IT. i MAY NOT BE THE BRIGHTEST OR SHINIEST BULB ON THE WHITE HOUSE TREE, BUT i DO THINK SOMETIMES.

-i ate fudge and drank lots of coffee today....

-every year at this time, some folks get all weird and decide that the creche at city hall,/public spot is no longer acceptable. they also do not want christmas carols in the school pagent, and all calendars marked winter /december vacation. fights/lawsuits ensue. the battle continues.
yet, and this is a big yet......
a woman teaching school lets her 6 and year old students name a teddy bear. parents go ballistic and went from jail and beating her to within an inch of her life are now screaming off with her head.
HELLO???????????????
welcome to the holidays and the peace on earth notion.

okay= i'll shut up now. someone else take the microphone please.

I would like to think that there was a time when the holidays were perfect... and I would like to think that there will come a time when the holidays will be perfect... but, somehow, I doubt it.

Well, I am off to get dinner started. I will return later to hog the thread and post more pics of my girls and bore you all to tears. Hmm, maybe I ought to pst some of my guys too?!? I really do have pics of them.

One of these days I am gonna get my Universal pics scanned. For some none of them are digital. Maybe I could start out scanning just a few a day.

Thread hog? Anytime one of us has time to spend on the computer, be it catching up or chatting, we post a bunch. That doesn't make us a hogger, does it? Am I a thread hog?

Sounds like the Godiva Factory..... (neighbor across the street works there....)

There are rejects from Godiva? What am I missing out on here?

I don't know WHAT I did to my arm, but it's been killing me for the last 2 days. I can't raise it (and of course it's the right one) without a really sharp pain. I've been taking motrin and trying to rest it, but of course that's nearly impossible. Just weird because it just started hurting overnight and has gotten worse. Don't remember doing anything in particular strenuous. (Well, I got my annual pap smear Friday but can't see how that would affect my arm! ).

My right arm has been bothering me too. I finally figured out that it is from playing Wii games with Joshua. I have Wii arm!

yours is, out mac...and i am totally puiright now

have a great nighr homies :cool1: :lmao:

Oh, man! I missed Tracie PUI! :headache:

:lmao: Oh, man! "Should I know you?" :lmao: Priceless. As if you don't even matter in her world. I'd have probably said, "Yes you should know me" and walked away with an evil smile.

Exactly what I was thinking! That you should have looked at her in disbelief, shook your head and said "You mean you DON'T?" and left her wondering who you were!

Sharon I love your pics! It's always nice to see other teenage boys looking nice for a change (not to imply your son doesn't normally, but mine sure don't!). I love the Abercrombie pose too!
