Girls Only Trip (old planning thread, see link to new one in 1st post)

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! This doesn't apply only to those with two legged children... it means furry children or otherwise, or for a woman who has been highly influential on someone else's life. I gave a card to the priest at my church who has been completely awesome to me... for a long time when I was as an adolescent she was my only friend among other things. She has been just totally awesome. So with that having been said, I'll say this again... HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

I'm sorry I can't catch up right now because this is a day where life happens.... it goes down in the "history of Bridgette" book as one of the top 25 days in almost 25 years book of longest days. I promise if I don't catch up tonight later on I will tomorrow.... It's one of those days where I can't remember if I slept in my own bed or at my parent's house last night. :confused3 At this point I 100% truly cannot remember. I can't stop long enough to care enough to think about it hard enough about it. :rolleyes1 All I care about at this moment is I SURVIVED GRADUATION and it wasn't without much effort. That is a gigantic understatement by about 6 years. If anybody said that getting a fine art degree is an easy version of a college degree they've never taken a studio art class (nevermind one of the "live model session" ones :scared1:... wow do I have some colorful stories :lmao:)

Thanks all for the encouragment!

My day has gone further downhill now, my mother called me and we were talking about our moving to help Nathan get more help, and she got very upset with me for talking about it (even though she was the one who asked). She is soooo anxious for us to move out there (WV), but there are many reasons why it's just not the best idea right now. We need to go somewhere where we can get more help for Nathan, not less. It just made me sad that my mother felt the need to get upset with me today. If only she knew how hard this was on me. I spent half the day yesterday crying because I'm just at the end of my rope. I can't fix everything. :sad1: I wish I could be with my family, but I have to think of my children right now.

It sounds like many of you are having great days, and I'm so glad that I can come on here and celebrate your wonderful days with you all. :flower3:

I'm sorry Heather . Sometimes family members think they are being helpful and really make things worse. Your mother probably just missing you and the kids and doesn't realize how stressed you are.

If it makes you feel any better, I'm having a horrible mothers day . My life has been so crappy lately that I just learned to live with it. DH and I got in a huge fight on Friday and I haven't seen or spoken to him since.

Oh yes, your story sounds very similar to mine. And I love the 'she made your buttons' story! :lmao: It's so true. I, like you, love my mom, and really do wish we could be closer. I'm sure she was just sad not to have me there for Mother's day, and she let that cloud her judgment. I've smoothed things over since, but it's so stressful for me during the blow up!

Thanks for the advice. I asked about mold, and he said that we got to the carpet soon enough. Luckily it's not monsoon season, so it's still really dry here. Hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm worried about the water inside the walls. The water went down between the walls, and bubbled up into my apartment around the baseboards. I'm more worried about mold in the walls. Like Stacie said, I need to move. The question is, am I going to be closer to you or Stacie! We can't decide! It's a toss up between Phoenix and OC. Everyday, I have a different plan!

Things are ok, I'm slowly working through laundry. They are going to clean out the A/C also because he said it's almost ready to overflow! I am the proud owner (well renter) of a shiny new faucet and pipes under sink in the kitchen. :thumbsup2

At least I wasn't lonely on Mother's Day, I had 3 different men visit me today! :rotfl:

That's the way to make it positive! Hopefully you don't have any problems with all the water, just make sure you watch it.

And hugs :grouphug: to all the moms and daughters! We are an awesome group of ladies!!

For Mother's Day, I am finally posting on the Dis Boards for my mom. I have been meaning to, I swear...but I have been busy with work and school I rarely log online these days. I love seeing all of you at the meets though so I am going to post more often.

I am Lulubelle's (Linda) DD Brianne. I was super excited to see some of you last night at the Hearthstone Lounge! I know my mom was super glad to visit with you ladies. :yay:

Today was super fun at Disneyland and DCA for Mother's Day. Mom got a carnation to match her outfit (yellow) and we even got a buzz on at the Sweet Sundays. I am told anyone who went on the tour from the last meet will be glad to hear my mom got a picture of Ryan's behind. lol. The park wasn't too busy and we went on plenty of rides. Even my dad came and he only comes once a year! Anyways, just wanted to send a hello and wish all of you a Happy Mother's Day! I hope your day was magical and spent having fun.

Heather, I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! My brother's kitchen had a pipe burst underneath the floor at his old house. He came home from work one day and "SURPRISE!" ugg....

Yes, we did have an awesome time last night with everyone and a lot of fun today, too. It was a beautiful weekend and I had lots of wonderful company.:grouphug:

Cheryl, I agree that the "chef dessert making" portion of our Sweet Sunday event was a bit of a let down. For one thing, we barely had time to eat before she started. It felt rushed. I think it should have been 2 hrs, not 90 minutes. Also, the dessserts were good, but not super indulgent like I would have thought. I was kind of expecting some sort of cake (or cupcake) that we would sink our teeth into and say O-M-G! There were no OMG moments. If it weren't for the free flowing champagne, I would have felt ripped off. And I must say, it was so nice to meet your lovely mother. What a cutie! I hope to visit more with her at future gatherings.:cutie:

Heather and Katie, I am so sorry the day turned out to be not so magical for you.:sad1: I hope tomorrow is a better day.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO EVERYONE ELSE!:dance3:

PS I will post pix later. And yes, I did sneak up on Ryan and snapped a picture. He saw the flash out of the corner of his eye and turned around and busted me. DD & I were laughing hysterically and he just looked at us like we were weird.

Welcome Brianne!! I am excited to see you here!!! I enjoyed talking to you at the MA (can you believe we only had 114 points!!!!) and I love that you made your username so easy for us to keep you straight!!!

Oh Heather, sorry you had such a crappy day! Not the way someone wants to spend Mother's day. I hope the week gets better for you!

Cheryl & Linda it sounds like you guys have a great day today!

:flower3::flower3::drinking1

All you can drink Magicale??? What was the cost of this, if I may ask? I have a feeling it was a good deal considering the Magicale!

I would worry about mold in the walls too. I think Stacie is right, it's a sign you should move.

It was $65 each--so if you drank two or three glasses, that was more than half the cost!

How could he POSSIBLY think you were weird????? LOL--when Mom and I pulled up to the GCH valet he was waiting out front--apparently for his VIP victim of the day--he saw me and just looked away--I'm sure because I "dissed" him after the VIP tour last time (by not wanting to talk to him about the issue with the other guide). funny that Linda and Breezy saw him too!

Linda--are you going to email that photo to AmySue--you know she wants it!

and Beth--the new siggie is so true!

Okay, Linda and/or Brianne, you better post a pic of Ryan's behind here. I'm telling ya, if I had to put up with him for four hours (or should I say if "we" had to put up with him for four hours), then we deserve a little something in return from the guy. :rotfl:

(Ugh - to think my son's name is Ryan. Oye!)

By the way, WELCOME BRIANNE!!! I'm so excited that you posted! :yay:

I am still here and have been skimming through the last few days but I am not much for chatter. Once I decide whether I will be going I will join in more, especially once there is more actual planning going on. I am hoping to talk DH into going in September on the 5 for 3 deal and stay at GCH. If you are getting 2 nights free then that seems like the best place to do it!:thumbsup2 He and my 17yo are getting burnt out on Disney; they think that going every year is too much or even that we don't need to ever go again because we have been so much. :scared1: So if that happens, I may have to become a Dis Diva for life - thank God I found you! If I do go on this trip, I would be interested in staying at GCH but I have to come home on 2/28 because I am an accountant and cannot miss the first few days of the month.

Glad to see you still around Carol.

Morning ladies!!! Kellybell from the DISign boards has come up with two possible t-shirt designs for next year:

disdivaminnie_2010.jpg

and

piratedivas_2010.jpg

My personal fave is the second one and I think that one would look super on a black t-shirt (and would be great with a long sleeve pink shirt underneath for layering, if needed).

What do you think???

I like the second one better. Maybe if it was a smaller design over the chest pocket area of a tee would be nice. And just because I won't wear a shirt too long after the date is on it.....I would drop the year off of it.

Stacie, I'm jealous of your memory skills.

Don't be. I took a class on time management, and it taught me how to write down a lot of stuff and take notes to remember.

We are ohana. ;)

You got that right!

I'm not sure. I personally think the trip is still pretty far away. I mean, it is over 9 months. While there is planning taking place now, it's simple things like tees, and groups rides, etc. Nothing to sign up for yet.

However, having said that, I will say that the more you put into this group, the more you will get back from it. I realize not everyone has the time to keep up with such a fast moving thread, but just taking time to get to know everyone a little will go towards making the trip seem much more fun.

After months of chatting, it's not like meeting a group of strangers. It's like meeting up with good friends. :goodvibes So hopefully those who are new, or those who are lurking thinking of joining will eventually decide to post as often as they can and get to know us, as well as give us a chance to get to know them. :thumbsup2

And if you're not buying that, then let's just say my whip scared them all off. You can blame it on me. :rotfl2:

I think your whip scared them.

Seriously though....the trip is what you put into it. THe more into the group and planning, the better time I think you will have.

I don't know about a smaller design over the chest pocket area. You put a design over my chest pocket area, and the design might start to look a little funky if you know what I mean. Plus, I'm not sure if I want to draw attention there. ;):rolleyes1

Happy Late Mother's Day! I hope everyone had a terrific day!! I haven't had a chance to read back through the posts but I'll try to skim them later.

We just got home from DL an hour ago, just in time to watch Amazing Race. It was fun meeting everyone last night! We really had a great time! After everyone left the GC we went into DL and stayed until closing 12am...no crowds. Then this morning we got up for MM and left when it did get crowded around 9:30am and went back and spent the rest of the day at the pool at DLH. We ran in Jen and her family at Autopia...her boys are darling.

Good night!

Ummm....What is Sweet Sunday???

I am so sore from playing softball today! We had a lot of fun! I'm sun burned!

How is everyone tonight??

Brianne, it's great to see you posting! :yay: I'm Courtney btw,. Your Mom mentions you a lot on here! :lovestruc

Cheryl and Linda it sounds like you had a great time! Unlimited Magicale sounds fun.

Uh oh, sunburned is no fun. Hopefully it'll turn into a nice tan in a day or two. I'm doing great tonight. I bought a bunch of flowers and folage and planted my mom's big pots for her on her deck for mother's day. She loved it! Now I'm just chillin' watching a little TV and having a beer.

By the way, thanks for the Happy Mother's Day text message this morning. That was a great surprise!

:grouphug: to everyone. I'm headed to bed but I wanted to say to Heather and Kate I hope your day got better and that tomorrow goes well too.

Sounds like those that went to Napa Rose had a nice time.

Traveling today was quite uneventful, always a good thing when you're flying... ;)

And I thought I'd share this article. They called me about an interview on Friday. http://www.edwards.af.mil/news/story.asp?id=123148477 I wish they had written more on the other mom, being a single mom in the military is way harder than me in the military.

Hope you all have a nice evening.
