What Crack Planet Did I Move to in Order to Think This Was a Good Plan?

Should I post pics of the prep process for the trip now or wait for the TR?

  • Show me the mess now so I can make fun of you right away.

  • You should wait till you get back because I like anticipating torture.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Now, the trip title makes complete sense!
I aim to please! :goodvibes
Poor Carsyn. Tell her she can come on my disney trip in October if she wants. I promise not to cancel. But, at least you have all 3 kids together for the trip. I keep thinking that as well. Who knows how many more trips you have like that? Once Treynor becomes a world famous soccer player, he might be busy (but he should also be able to pay for YOUR trips!!!) How are things? I'll call tonight!

Isn't that the truth! - Things are better thanks! :goodvibes

OMG!!! I love that picture of the boys... It cracks me up!!! :rotfl2:

Have a safe trip next week... Our weatherman is calling for mid 40 degree weather here in Iowa, which means no snow!!! :cool1:

And if you get stuck at exit 284 on I-80 in Iowa (home of the World's Largest Truckstop), give me a hollar... I live about 10 miles away from it...

Nancy...

Just make sure you wave with all 5 fingers. The fibs might take offense! :rotfl2:

Treyner has a HS soccer teammate named Taylor who is dating a girl Taylor. :scared1:

Beat this, DH's friend is called Alan Kelly well guess what the name of his wife is? Yep Kelly, so she is now Kelly Kelly :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: At their wedding she told everyone it was the one and only day we could laugh about her name :rotfl:

This made me think of our babysitters DIL. Her name is Toni, her sisters name is Kelly. A few years back, their parents divorced and her father married his mistress...Toni Kelly. How SICK is that!! He named his daughters after his mistress. Until she got married and took her husbands name, she and her step-mother had the same name

Bummer about Hawaii but nice that Carsyn will be joining you!

Just read your other trip reports and then spotted this one in its infancy so have signed up. I have three teens and just find so many common points of interest :rotfl: Let the trip begin...................

I love reading reports when families have kids around my own age (I'm just a little older than your oldest son). I also love reading reports when the families are obviously in competition with mine for Nuttiest Family o' the Year.

Your other trip reports have made me laugh, and I'm sure this one will too! Can't wait to live vicariously through you!

I have to take plenty of pics minus her though just in case they do not last. Don't want to throw away a perfectly great vacation album! :

That happened to my Rome photos, my parents decided to take me and my then boyfriend to Rome for a long weekend and every photo aparently he had to be in and I was not about to try and explain that I didn't want him in the pictures of me in front of the Colosseum, Basilica, Pantheon, etc because I'd have to chuck the pictures away if we broke up. So now I have a whole 2 pictures of me in Rome :rolleyes1

And I know this was pages back but I once knew a Sean Kelly and a Siobhan Keely.

What if I close my right fist and then place my right forearm in the crook of my left elbow and then raise my left forearm into a bent upward position? ;)

:rolleyes1

K - so how many of you actually did what I decribed?

Roll Call!

So you are telling me he had a mistress his whole marriage and then named his daughters after her? Did the wife have a clue?

Hmmmmm.....if my Dad had named me after my ex step-mother, my name would have been Big T!ts.

oh....wait...that is what I called her.

What was her real name again......?

Rancid corpse of a maggot filled cockroach?

Nope.....again a pet name.

Now you got me stumped as to what the heck her name was.

(Truth - I really did call her BT (the full name mentioned previously.) In fact my kids would say, are we going to go see Grandpa Dave and BT? And I would say, why yes my sweet angels we are going to visit the bowels of he!! just for scrapbooking shots.

(Ok...so the last sentence was my fantasy but they really did ask the first sentence and don't go hating me. She is satan with EE breasts. She had been married to my Dad for all of 2 months when my grandpa passed away and he had a military funeral. 5 children in my Dad's family and when the flag was folded and presented to the family, BT came forward and took it.

My uncles and aunt wanted to kill her and no joke thought about it.

She is the only person I have ever hated in my life. And I have dissliked many people.

True!

I am absolutely amazed at how long you have been here and how few posts you have and yet you liked my TR's. Thanks!

Maybe we can have a "battle of the stars" type show for nuttiest family!

Wait - you are a baby - did you ever even see it? Go Hulu it - I would assume it is there somewhere!

Your other trip reports have made me laugh, and I'm sure this one will too! Can't wait to live vicariously through you!
Thanks for joining! I will tell Treyner he has his age company here and maybe he will join.

Ohhhhh...see if Europe wasn't so amazing that would not be such a great story. :headache:

If you had said, we went to Ohio for the weekend and now I have no pics by Bob's Big Boy rest stop and the Jelly Belly strip bar - it would not be so impressive and sad! [:rotfl2:/COLOR]
And I know this was pages back but I once knew a Sean Kelly and a Siobhan Keely.

Good Morning Vietnam!!!!

Or at least the US/Canada/UK/Ireland, cause I have not seen any Vietnam - ish locations in the avatar section!

Yesterday the entire day was spent finding recipes to make and cooking by me for the trip. I will have to catalog all the food - I am quite impressed with even some new concoction I found - one tastes exactly (and even a tad better) than Recces Peanut Butter Cups. (For my friends from the WISH - I tried literally a smidge - for now anyway! ;))

With 4 teens on the trip - pit stops could be pricey. So food for an army is needed not to go broke on the trip down.

We LEAVE WEDNESDAY!!!! :cool1:

I started my list of all things needing to be packed already.

Yes some of you OCD'ers out there would have it listed and packed by now.

We packed Baylor yesterday.

Carsyn comes home today after being in Iowa with her Dad and we will have her packed then too.

Oh...and Dan - the most amazing man on the planet and more talented than I could ever give him credit for...

Spent all day yesterday (literally from 10 am - 6 p.m.) ripping out the console in the new ghetto van and tearing through the front end so he could re-wire and attach an inverter (blah blah blah cause we all now I have no flippin clue what all that means) to make sure the new tv for the van does not drain the battery and cause us to be homeless in Illinois on our trip down. He tore up the carpeting, ran cords under the seats and the result...

We have a 19 inch flat screen TV WITH built in DVD player for our road trips.

Dan has a friend who knows a friend who knows a guy who finds things after they fall off the back of trucks.

Ok - I am kidding. He does have a friend though who got us access to an employee and friends website for a national electronics/appliance company and there they sell things new, refurbished, scratch and dented etc for cheap!!! Hence Baylor had enough on his own to buy the X-box and our ability to pimp the inside of the beast.

Including the purchase of the van and all the extras (TV/x-box/wireless remote/new stereo speakers etc.) we all spent about $1,900.

Now if we make it down and back - it was a steal because flying 5 of us was going to be $2,000 plus we would have had a rental van etc.

So...do we want pictures of all the food, packing stuff and van now?

Or should I wait to post it in the TR?

Let me get a vote people. In fact I may try and post a poll! :confused3 :woohoo:

Poll is up.

I repeat the poll is up.

I have posted my first poll.

Do I get a special sticker or should I write this on my calendar to commemorate this event?

I want to see it all now but you know I'm nosy :rotfl:

And yuuuummmm I just saw you're getting some Garrett popcorn, my Mom friend from Chicago brought some to the EE5K in September and it's delicious although I can't mix my sweet and savoury :rotfl:

Today we leave in 4 hours. I have been up since 4 am. If I get the rest of my itinerary done, I will post pics here. If not, I will try and upload them Friday night for you all once we get to Anderson.

I am exhausted. Carsyn had a huge project for her history class, 9 girls were in the group. Maybe 4 helped at all. Carsyn was up all night. Literally all night a in no sleep, trying to finish it.

35 minute documentary covering the 70's including politics, fads, fashion, entertainment etc. She is amazing at this stuff. The thing she put together was really incredible and a lot of creative design since Utube videos are not school friendly on their computers. She video taped the computer screen then transferred the video to the computer, added music, words etc.

At 10:30 when I crashed and the other girls said, they were done. There was 12 minutes. This morning their was 30 plus. All edited and spliced.

I am so very proud of her.

That is also why I have not had the computer! :thumbsup2

You will not believe all the food I made and we are bringing. It's like I am packing for the ark.

Shannn - Reece's Peanut Butter bars and home made nutter butters are coming!

I will say ta ta for now.

I will be asleep before we leave Minnesota I am sure.

First stop is Popcorn in Chicago for Treyner if we can make a 6:45 minute drive in under 7 hours because they close at 8 p.m.! :scared1:

Well that sucks your poll was closed!! Since I was not afforded my constitutional rights to freedom of voting I now have no right to be angry at the results, since I did not participate!!:rotfl2:

Have a great trip Dawn and keep us posted! I will look for the tricked out van on the news reports - kind of like the Olympic Flame passing though different cities!!:lmao:
