WISHing Away the Pounds - 2015 Edition!! Everyone Welcome!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hello.. I have missed chatting with you all .. just like everyone else the holidays were hectic and wonderful and I spent time with family and friends, had a bunch of time off work , ate all the wonderful yummy treats and goodies, tried shakeology (UM not for me) got back on low carb -- Atkins 40 -- that seems to be working for me.. so I am going to just lurk for this month and join in next month.. but here is my intro...

Hi I am Michelle, mom of DS 18 and DD 21, wife to the Hubs now for 6 years, and mom to fur baby Hunny.. I am 44 and have type 2 diabetes so Low carb is the way for me to lose weight and I have some good stuff coming up this year to lose it for..

I have a weekend scrapbooking event the beginning on May and I'd like tonot have my Tshirts sticking to my preggie looking belly!!:sad2: In June my DS will graduate HS and again I'd like my pics to not look like I am preggie! :crazy2: In July we are taking a weeks vacation to a favorite resort and I'd like to not look like a whale in my bathing suit!:mad: In Oct my sister-in-law is getting married and I'd like to look stunning in a NEW dress :sad: also the week after her wedding is my 45th
Birthday and really I'd like to be the envy of my friends as my Hubs takes me someplace swanky in the new dress from the wedding!!:flower3: or heck maybe i'll buy two!!!

anyway.. I have to rush back to work now.. I'll see you all around.. have a fantastic week.. :cheer2::cheer2:

Just stopping by quickly...

I meant to do a long reply earlier, but I got busy.

I've been snacking a lot over the past few days, but I know I can do better. Meals have been okay - Sunday's dinner was stir fry potatoes & veggies, and last night was leftovers. For tonight I'm thinking fish sticks for the brother, something healthier for me (I'm not a big fish stick fan), and roasted cauliflower for both of us. My brother is not a big veggie guy (yesterday his veggie was ketchup), but I know he eats cauliflower, so hopefully he'll eat this dish.

Okay, I'm off to keep scouring the internet for healthy dinner recipes for me (and I should probably start the roasted cauliflower soon, too). I hope everyone is doing great, and I'll try to actually catch up later this week!

Good Morning WISHers! It's been almost 2 years since I have been on this thread...new job kept me busy....but lately I've been missing all the wonderful people I have met here! I'm jumping back in to the chat for the moment and will get some WIs going next month.

A little about me...I'm Karen (41) and work as a college counselor at a private school in Northern NJ. I'm single....still..wondering if Prince Charming actually exists :love: I've struggled with my weight my entire life and really want to just be healthy. I lost 35 pounds last year...and then promptly gained it all back. I realize that I am a stress eater and without being aware of this, I became a yo-yo dieter. My journey reboot began again on January 2nd and I hope to stay the course this year until I hit goal (goal being a really cute Vineyard Vines skirt that I have owned for 7 years and can not fit into!) Additional motivation is a family wedding in Tampa in August....with a side trip to see my favorite mouse (that's if the stars align and I can get a decent room rate!)

So, that's me in a nutshell :goodvibes

I look forward to meeting many of you as well as checking in with those I knew from my last go around on this thread!

Wishing everyone an OP day :thumbsup2

Hey all! Sorry that I disappeared over the past few days. I stayed busy over the weekend and then DD was home for a VERY SHORT 24 hour visit Monday into Tuesday and then of course, I had to work last night. Here working at school today. Eating between Saturday and Monday night were :eek: and :rolleyes1.... but back on track solidly yesterday and today. Praying to just maintain this week after all that!

I only have a few minutes here with my students out to recess, but I'll try to pop on later today when they are at Art! TTYL..........P

:welcome: back Karen!!

I am also tired of winter! this week has been a bit of a break in the bitter coldness, but I'm sure it will be back

I'm doing pretty good this week, getting my steps and workouts in so far. Monday lunch was impromptu Mexican which put me over for calories for the day...I have mixed feelings on what the scale will say in two days but I know I've been giving it 110%.

I miss wine

Healthy Habit Week 3: Fiber!

Fiber is something we all have heard of as something that is good for you. But what is it really? And why is it good for us?

So, the challenge for the Healthy Habit this week is to make one conscious choice every day for one food that is high in fiber. For example, you want to get some fruit - choose one that is higher in fiber than another. Go for whole wheat bread instead of white bread. Make a meal with beans or lentils (great for getting fiber!)

Don't go crazy if you don't have a high fiber diet yet - it might upset your guts if they are not used to getting loads of fiber. This challenge is not about trying to hit a certain amount of fiber, but about getting awareness of what it is and how to get it!

Have fun - there are lots of tasty food out there that have plenty of fiber. Eating lots of fiber does not have to feel like eating cardboard boxes!!!

The challenge runs from today, Saturday, until next Friday and this time you need to get 7/7 to get a perfect score!

I missed seeing this, but I do eat a very high fiber diet.... and if I feel like my fiber intake has been low (like not eating lots of fruits and veggies that day), I make sure to add some Benefiber to my evening tea and/or my morning coffee.

I can't count a 7/7 because I didn't make a conscious choice for the last few days..... just what I would normally do. But I do read a LOT of labels and higher fiber is definitely a thumbs-up for me.... especially on things like veggie burgers, breads, etc.

Just a quick check in! So far I've worked our three days this week, two runs on the treadmill and one 90 minute hot yoga session today. I'm on track with exercise! But I've had a cold so I'm not sure my weight will be a loss. We'll have to see tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed for you!

:wave2:

Well, not to great week for me. I am still "icky" and not sure why. Overall I feel okay-- I don't have that "ugh I am sick and just feel miserable" feeling. But I am having a ton of sinus congestion and lots of drainage in my throat (sorry if that is TMI!). I have allergies so my nose is usually congested but it is actually fine for a change! But my ear is sore and my throat is scratchy and I am having sinusy headaches and intermittent coughing fits. I lost my voice on Thursday-- which is great for a school secretary! Still don't have it back. Me not talking????? That is unheard of!!! :scared1:

Hard to eat because it is uncomfortable to swallow so sticking to soft foods and most of those are off plan. Drinking tons of fluids! But I am having soda so I blew my 10 day mini goal-- my go to comfort drink is grape juice with gingerale (diet). And of course lots of hot tea and honey.

I am not sure if I am fighting some sort of weird virus or if it is allergies or what. Nothing seems to indicate an infection in my sinuses, ear or throat so hoping it will clear up in a few days.

This also means I didn't manage to get any exercise in this week. Trying to just take it easy and rest as much as possible. I swear that every time I make a plan to start exercising the universe conspires to make it not happen. I get sick, I hurt something, a schedule changes, sudden blizzard in July. . . .

I am going to try to read back and get caught up. I am trying to be mostly on plan today (except for the juice and gingerale). Since I am home I can make protein shakes and prepare soft foods that will be easier to swallow.

Sorry you are sick!! It does seem like the Fates conspire against us at times, doesn't it!?? Try to get better and have a plan for getting back on track once you are feeling more like yourself!

Hello all!
As for me ... it's 1:30 PM and I'm still drinking my coffee, but that's okay, Sundays are days to take it easy. Yesterday killed my 10-minute exercise streak ... I just couldn't muster up the energy. I felt bad, but oh well. I'm going to restart it today as a 15-minute exercise streak, and hopefully this one will stick for longer.

Don't kick yourself for missing a day..... give yourself credit for all of the days you DID get in your 10 minutes and move forward from there!

Today is day 1 of controlling all of my meals ... I had greek yogurt with granola for breakfast, and I'm having a veggie burger for lunch. Not sure about dinner yet, but I'm thinking about seeing if we have potatoes and trying to make myself some sort of vegetable & potato hash - I'm thinking cut up a potato into small pieces (I don't think I actually have a grater anywhere), mix it with some frozen peas and carrots, and toss it in the frying pan ... and hope it works out. I tend to experiment with food and not bother with recipes, and it doesn't always come out well.

I tend to be a bit of an experimenter as well.... sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I always learn!!

I've got 2 more "healthy dinners" on the menu after tonight (the rest will be leftovers), so I'm spending part of today looking for recipes. My brother asked me which day this week I wanted him to pick up Chinese food ... I told him that he can get Chinese for himself and I'll make myself something healthy. Not a hard thing for me to say, because I don't really like Chinese food much anyway.

That would be hard for me.... Chinese is something I used to LOVE!! But I cannot tell you the last time we indulged.

As for sleep ... I did get to bed at 10:30 exactly last Thursday, but haven't been to bed before 10:30 since. Hopefully I will this week because things are quieter around the house.
My weigh-in last week was lower than expected. I'm wondering if, like Magdalene, I've been eating too little and need to start eating more. I'm trying to up my calories a bit this week to see how that affects my weight. I've always been a small meal person, so it's an adjustment, but if it's what works, I'll have to learn to adjust.

This week's healthy habit will be a tough one for me ... I tend not to think about fiber as much as I should. But ... when trying to decide which veggie burger to have for lunch (we have 2 kinds that I like in the house), I chose entirely based on fiber content - I went with the one with 6g of fiber (the other one was only 3). So I guess that's today's point.

Okay, I think that's all I've got in me for today. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Which veggie burger did you pick? I really love veggie burgers and I am always looking for a new flavor!!

Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to have the company. I've been overweight my whole life and now at 26 I am finally done with it. I've realized I can't be the person I want to be at my current weight so I'm doing something about it.
Some more basics about me, I live in Iowa and I am a substitute teacher. I obviously love Disney but unfortunately haven't been able to go since 2012. I miss it there so much.
Ok enough about me. I hope everyone has a great week!:thumbsup2

Good for you for getting a handle on it while you are still young!

I am a substitute teacher as well.... been doing it for 11 years now. I will admit, I don't love it, but I LOOOOOVVVEE the flexible schedule and short days, so I stick with it. And count me as a "missing Disney" person too!

Motivational Monday!!

We are over halfway through the month and some might start to lose the momentum of starting out to a new goal that carried us through the beginning of the month, so I thought this quote would help us to stay motivated for the last 12 days of the month:

5.jpg

I could DEFINITELY use some "umph" in my momentum!! Too many excuses to go off track, too many "reasons" to splurge.... and too much cold, dark, yucky weather!!

great motivational Monday!

our gym was closed today so it's going to be a challenge to get my workout in, a challenge mentally that is....my fitbit friends started a weekday challenge for this week so maybe i'll just take the dog on a long walk later. we did yesterday despite the chill and it was so nice to be outside

pixie dust for a great week for us all!!

Good for you for going out in the cold!!

Dammit, been floating around 225-227 for the last few weeks. I feel like I need to see 220 next week or else (even though the plan is 221.5 on 2/1).

If it were consistent even or dropping slightly I'd be good. It's the whole down 2 then up 5 then down 2 that bugs me.

The rollercoaster-effect can be FRUSTRATING.... but as long as the overall trend is DOWNWARD, you are on the right track!

Hello everyone!! I am feeling tired and exhausted today. And already had a far too enthusiastic meeting with the candy box we have here at the office. I try to avoid it most days, but today I was in its presence twice and just could not resist. Yes, feeling tired equals craving for carbs. But tomorrow will be another day and todays candy has been tracked (I have no points left, but that's ok since I am allowed to eat my weekly points).

I have to say that I am starting to get really fed up with winter. I want the days to be longer and the weather to be warmer! And it is only the middle of January!! :sad2: I think the older I get the grouchier I become about winter...

Good for you for tracking the candy and being ready to make a new start!! I am SO WITH YOU on getting tired of the weather!! I'm sitting here dreaming of winning some money so we could go somewhere tropical for February vacation!!:rolleyes:

Okay friends.... I'm feeling caught up here!! :dance3: That makes me happy!

Anyone have any MIRACLE RECIPES? You know.... a wonderful, delicious, healthy meal you can make the family when the fridge is BARE??:rolleyes1 Yup.... 3 days til payday and I'm not sure we will make it!!;) I have some oranges and bananas and grapefruit, one green pepper, a few carrots, and 2 bunches of celery (as far as produce goes). Meat is scarce, but I did notice a roast in the freezer this morning that I didn't know about.... so that can go in the crockpot tomorrow.... but with what??? I am pulling out a previously made meatloaf tonight and have a ratatioulle casserole that I froze back in the summer when the tomatoes, onions, and eggplant were plentiful.... and I will make some brown rice or whole wheat couscous. But after that we are literally down to ...?? Eggs? Yogurt? Guess I had better get ready to pull a rabbit out of my hat by Friday!!:rotfl2:

Off to get my kiddos from art!.................P

These challenges provide a wonderful support group for all of us wanting to lose weight. And in order to be able to support each other, it is good to know a little more about all of us participants.

So, please introduce yourself, tell us something about why you want to lose weight (and as an additional exercise, try to say it in a positive way ;)) and what your biggest challenges are!

I'm late to the board, but I found it because I was specifically looking for a Disney centered weight loss group! My name is Mikenzie, and I am 33. I have a hubby and a 3.5 yo daughter at home, and work at a desk job 4 days/wk.

I was a very skinny kid growing up, but once I hit puberty, my metabolism hit the skids. I was able to lose some weight and get toned for my wedding about 9 years ago, but even then, I was still on the heavy side. I told myself clothing didn't fit because I was big chested, or had muscular thighs, but I knew it was more than that. What finally lit a fire under me was starting a Disney vacation fund for next fall, when I realized that this will be my daughter's first trip to Disney, with lots of meet & greets. I don't want to shy away from pictures, or look at our albums with any regrets. It's funny the things that motivate sometimes, but that was my "aha" moment.

My biggest challenges are energy levels (I swear, DD sucks energy right out of me somehow) and the fact that there are CONSTANTLY treats at my office. We have a candy dish up front with all kinds of junk, every day all day. Add to that special events or office lunches, and well...

I'm trying to keep motivated when I'm working out by listening to Disney podcasts or watching eps of the Biggest Loser on hulu on my phone. ;)

I'm trying - again! Been here before off and on. I had a good handle on things (my weight) before and during most of the holidays but I really dont; know what happened. I'm thinking when I had bronchitis for 3 weeks last month exercise stopped and food got bad. I need that accountability of the boards but it's hard for me as I'm not super good at the checking in/social aspect. I hate typing/reading o my phone and I'm rarely at the computer.

anyway..my weight is creeping up again and I need to get control. I have 3 trips planned this year (2 are free/mostly free work related and 1 Disney trip in August).

I bought the 21 day fix Beachbody plan and I love the workouts. Serious soreness!!! I just can't wrap my head around the food plan. It's all no calorie counting just eat off a list and whatever fits in these colored containers thing. I'm a terrible cook and would prefer to live on protein shakes the rest of my life but I know that's not healthy. I'm working on making a binder of healthy recipes and snacks from PInterest etc. I need more of a "eat exactly this" type plan (jenny craig style) :rotfl2:. I'm just no good left to my own devices. I literally get angry when I try to cook. Speaking of...kids are asking what's for dinner and I have nothing prepared.

I started logging my food in MFP and that really helps keep the snacking at bay when I see each bite add up - darn those 2 Samoas!!!

So - off to find something not horrible for me for dinner that makes the kids happy!

Fly by -- more later but Pamela if you have eggs how about a veggie frittata ?

Wow - not sure what I would recommend... But obviously some celery/egg dish would be a good choice? ;)

:welcome: It is never to late to join in!! I think losing weight for your first trip to Disney with your daughter is a great motivation! And it seems like you still have plenty of time to lose weight before the trip! :thumbsup2

I know all about the work candy dish! I suffer from the same temptation... What about thinking up a small reward for every day that you don't visit the candy dish? I find it easier to not take any candy from ours here than to tell myself that I will only take one piece.

Which Disney podcasts are you listening to?

:welcome: backe! Great to see even more people returning!

Sounds like you have a great workout plan! As to the eating: have you searched around for well done meal plans for weight loss? I am sure there are some around. I seem to remember that Sparkpeople even had an option where you could let the program provide a meal plan for you (I hated it, but I hate all meal plans because I am so picky about my food and only will eat half of the stuff on the plan).

Fly by -- more later but Pamela if you have eggs how about a veggie frittata ?

~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sorry everybody that I still haven't updated the weights from last week! And tomorrow is weigh in day. I somehow had two horrible days feeling very lousy emotionally (TOM hit really hard for some reason this month) and then yesterday I had a horrible pain in my shoulder. Feeling much better today, so am going to get you updated tonight!
Eating has been all over the place the last two days. Now I just need to get back on plan today. While I have been doing ok, I still haven't tracked everything, which I really need to do! At least I still kept up my steps both of the horrible days.
Oh - and in totally non-weight-loss news: I heard on the DISUnplugged podcast last week that the DISboards will get a major upgrade in the next two months with new software. I am all excited about it as I hope that it will be easier to use and nicer to look at. They said that all the existing content will be transferred, so we don't have to be afraid of losing our old threads like trip reports or the recipe thread (which I should look at for some inspiration for meal planning for next week).
This week I've been getting over a cold, so I haven't worked out yet at all. Eek! I need to get a short run in after work today to get back on track. Plus the weather here has been the worst.
I have lost 2 pounds so far! Even though I've been sick, I've been focusing on not eating too many late night snacks. It really helps! Plus I also have a fitbit and that keeps me moving throughout the day. Yay!
:welcome: It is never to late to join in!! I think losing weight for your first trip to Disney with your daughter is a great motivation! And it seems like you still have plenty of time to lose weight before the trip! :thumbsup2
I know all about the work candy dish! I suffer from the same temptation... What about thinking up a small reward for every day that you don't visit the candy dish? I find it easier to not take any candy from ours here than to tell myself that I will only take one piece.
Which Disney podcasts are you listening to?
I've been doing ok with the candy dish, since I am usually more of a savory than sweet person. But I dread when I will be PMSing and craving anything chocolate...
I have started a rewards system for myself (for both weight loss and savings purposes) where every week that I don't eat out more than once for lunch, but instead bring one, I put $10 in my Disney jar at home.
Also, I use myfitnesspal to track my calories. That helps. When you are forced to look at your calorie count, you are more aware of what you are eating. For those who use a fitbit, it also syncs with that. (Now I just need to find my fitbit...)
Just started listening to the DIS Unplugged one, and I also like the wdwprepschool one. Any other suggestions?
Sorry friends for being MIA. Been job hunting and I guess it has paid off I got a caregiver position practically with no interview really. I just had a brief phone chat was asked about my cpr and 1st aid and then only thing I needed to start the orientation this afternoon was my tb test which they started and I get to start orientation on the spot job offer. Nice because interviewing is anxiety waiting to happen for me. I already had one trying for the long process of getting on the police department as 911 operator. I passed the written tests but something happen in interview I guess that wasn't rated up with the others. They were choosing eight new operators for a class that wouldn't start till March(I should still be in eligible batch for a year if someone backs out or something) but 30 or so went to test and quite a few were not going in room to get interviews the next day(I did)but I bet I was still competing with quite a lot, dozen or more maybe. But oh well. Lost out on an additional 10-15 grand a year towards what my salary will be but I'm just ready to be working again. Plus I can work on planning a WDW trip probably for late in 2015. Maybe in Dec when my step sister will be out there too. I can meet some of my other nieces and nephew. I haven't seen my step sis since 1998 and her 2nd daughter was just a few months old. I remember carrying her around the then MGM looking at all the Christmas lights.
I'll be working into a new schedule and routine but I should be back to reporting in and such soon. :goodvibes Hope you all have been having a great Jan and start to your year.
I may even try to get a short trip to Disneyland in March around dd's spring break time. We shall see. I totally am way more into WDW but I want to see California Adventures.
Hey guys. And :welcome: to all of our new & newly returning members! I love seeing so many people taking their health & losing weight seriously.
Just another quick pop-in for me. I've been reading along, but don't have the energy to reply. Someone is a little bit sick ...
I've been waking up with a little bit of a sore throat for a few days, but it usually goes away after a few minutes. Yesterday it didn't go away, and I started to get the sniffles and a headache. And of course, I had a job interview yesterday afternoon.
(Side note: the interview went okay, no idea if I'll move on to the next step, but it felt weird to refuse to shake people's hands because I'm sick - the two people I met with seemed to appreciate it, though).
Anyway, today I'm trying to take it a bit easy. Started off with a breakfast of oatmeal and tea (still drinking the tea). I was planning to run in the park this morning, but nixed that idea shortly after I woke up. I did hop on the treadmill to run, but cut it short because I was just so out of it. I'm watching TV now and hoping that if I take it easy today, I'll be back to normal speed tomorrow. I really hate being sick.
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a better day than me.
congrats Michelle on the new job!!
pixie dust to all those fighting off the winter bugs
I went into the gym this morning and did a basal metabolic rate test and was pleased to find out that I'm eating the right calorie range for my metabolism to lose weight...now if it just works!! I'm geared up for tomorrow's WI, if I lose this will be three weeks in a row and that is not a feat a managed all year in 2014 :(
today's a rest day for workout, took the dog on a very chilly 1.5 or so walk and heading down to work in my scrapbook corner on DD's graduation album.....
MAKE TODAY COUNT!!
I'm late to the board, but I found it because I was specifically looking for a Disney centered weight loss group! My name is Mikenzie, and I am 33. I have a hubby and a 3.5 yo daughter at home, and work at a desk job 4 days/wk.
:flower: Welcome!!
I'm trying - again! Been here before off and on. I had a good handle on things (my weight) before and during most of the holidays but I really dont; know what happened. I'm thinking when I had bronchitis for 3 weeks last month exercise stopped and food got bad. I need that accountability of the boards but it's hard for me as I'm not super good at the checking in/social aspect. I hate typing/reading o my phone and I'm rarely at the computer.
So - off to find something not horrible for me for dinner that makes the kids happy!
:thumbsup2 I'm just returning too!! Welcome back!
Sorry everybody that I still haven't updated the weights from last week! And tomorrow is weigh in day. I somehow had two horrible days feeling very lousy emotionally (TOM hit really hard for some reason this month) and then yesterday I had a horrible pain in my shoulder. Feeling much better today, so am going to get you updated tonight!
Eating has been all over the place the last two days. Now I just need to get back on plan today. While I have been doing ok, I still haven't tracked everything, which I really need to do! At least I still kept up my steps both of the horrible days.
Oh - and in totally non-weight-loss news: I heard on the DISUnplugged podcast last week that the DISboards will get a major upgrade in the next two months with new software. I am all excited about it as I hope that it will be easier to use and nicer to look at. They said that all the existing content will be transferred, so we don't have to be afraid of losing our old threads like trip reports or the recipe thread (which I should look at for some inspiration for meal planning for next week).
:cool1: Glad you are feeling better and the DISboard news sounds fantastic!! So glad the threads will not be lost!
This week I've been getting over a cold, so I haven't worked out yet at all. Eek! I need to get a short run in after work today to get back on track. Plus the weather here has been the worst.
I have lost 2 pounds so far! Even though I've been sick, I've been focusing on not eating too many late night snacks. It really helps! Plus I also have a fitbit and that keeps me moving throughout the day. Yay!
Yea on the 2 pounds!! How do you like your fitbit? I'm thinking about getting one...the fitbit Charge HR?
Sorry friends for being MIA. Been job hunting and I guess it has paid off I got a caregiver position practically with no interview really. I just had a brief phone chat was asked about my cpr and 1st aid and then only thing I needed to start the orientation this afternoon was my tb test which they started and I get to start orientation on the spot job offer. Nice because interviewing is anxiety waiting to happen for me. I already had one trying for the long process of getting on the police department as 911 operator. I passed the written tests but something happen in interview I guess that wasn't rated up with the others. They were choosing eight new operators for a class that wouldn't start till March(I should still be in eligible batch for a year if someone backs out or something) but 30 or so went to test and quite a few were not going in room to get interviews the next day(I did)but I bet I was still competing with quite a lot, dozen or more maybe. But oh well. Lost out on an additional 10-15 grand a year towards what my salary will be but I'm just ready to be working again. Plus I can work on planning a WDW trip probably for late in 2015. Maybe in Dec when my step sister will be out there too. I can meet some of my other nieces and nephew. I haven't seen my step sis since 1998 and her 2nd daughter was just a few months old. I remember carrying her around the then MGM looking at all the Christmas lights.
I'll be working into a new schedule and routine but I should be back to reporting in and such soon. :goodvibes Hope you all have been having a great Jan and start to your year.
I may even try to get a short trip to Disneyland in March around dd's spring break time. We shall see. I totally am way more into WDW but I want to see California Adventures.
Congratulations on the new job!! Sorry to hear about the other job not working out as well :( At least there sounds like a trip to see the MOUSE is on your horizon!! Hang in there!
Oh no!! SO sorry you are fighting the yuckies!! I hope you can take it easy and rest...maybe a hot bath with epsom salts will help?
Sounds like a great idea to get a BMR test! Wishing you a fabulous WI tomorrow!!
What a day! It's after 1pm and I just found a few moments to sit down and check in. Lots of kid issues today in and out of my office. Is there a full moon or something? Anyway, I'm OP today as usual but I'm slacking on the water....coffee this morning, a green tea at lunch, and I'm only halfway through my water bottle. Better get on that before the day is over! I've been doing the Ideal Protein diet for the past three weeks and I have seen inches disappear, unfortunately I'm no seeing the numbers on the scale decrease :confused3 I'm going to WI tomorrow and see if I have budged.
I'm leaving in a week and 1 day for an ABD Costa Rica trip!! Apparently, they have size limits for zip-lining and white water rafting and I'm nervous I won't make it (I'm so close to the top of the limit!!) On the plus side, I am just about finished packing - lots of bug spray, sun block, and quick dry clothing!!
Another emergency is at my door...:scared1:
Wishing everyone an OP day!!
Sorry friends for being MIA. Been job hunting and I guess it has paid off
Congrats on the new job!!
Is tomorrow really Friday? Short weeks mess me up!
Well I had a few snack attack things but I;m not bad off. OP for breakfast and lunch but almost zero water all day! I can't get much water at my job. I work in a hospital and do PT on inpatients. So I roam the hosp and no home base except for lunch. It's pretty frantic some days it seems like everyone is ready or needing you all at once so I literally zip from one to the next. I had to go to the bathroom for like 2hrs but just push it aside! Why is suppressing that urge completely IMPOSSIBLE when I run or wake up in the morning :rolleyes1
Stopped at Walmart which is the only place I can find these yummy Tomato and Basil 90cal wraps. I'm addicted! I put a little hummus, turkey and lettuce and it's divine! DS9 preyed on my work fatigue and a couple treats ended up in the cart.
Chocolate wafer cookies OMG I forgot how good those things are - or is it because I havent had a treat in so long :) I ate 1 - then 2 - then 3 total. BUT I logged them in MFP and that easily put a stop to that. Man logging works wonders when you see that number add up.
I made a Flat Out cheese pizza for the first time. Plenty of food I was stuffed and only 210 calories. Didn't have any good veggies on hand but artichoke and garlic sounds good! Going to have to investigate some recipes for those Flat Outs.
I only have 55 calories left (since I had those 3 cookies, 1 pringle and 1 ritz cracker - yes i log each bite) if I don;t do my workout. We have some after school things tonight so I'm doubtful. I might squeeze in a greek yogurt for some protein. Guess I'll chug some water too to fill me up and make up for my dehydration during the day!
Hope everyone has a good evening and good news tomorrow :cheer2:
I'm trying to keep motivated when I'm working out by listening to Disney podcasts or watching eps of the Biggest Loser on hulu on my phone. ;)
That's my TV time is the treadmill! No sitting and watching tv. I can only watch my shows on the treadmill so that keeps me motivated.
HI! I have been lurking on this thread a couple of weeks now. I started a diet on Jan. 3, 2015
Actually all I am doing is counting calories right now. I use the app Lose it.
I started @ 211 pounds ( I am only 5'4") - my pic is my Avatar. The app said to lose 2 lbs per week I could only eat 1207 calories per day. So, everything I eat or drink gets longed in and I have lost a bit over 15 lbs (15.6 to be exact) since I started. I wanted to lose 46 pounds by my 46th birthday which is June 11.
I plan on continuing to use the app next month, but I am going to start going to the gym at least 3-5 times a week. I have got to get back into shape-it has been way too long!!!
We are going back to WDW in September and I hope to be down below 150 lbs.
I can do this - we all can reach our goals. (((hugs))) to everyone and high fives too !!
:welcome: I'm Karen too! Funny I don;t meet many but on here there's another on here too - can't recall the screen name!
I'm doing about the same as you (with calorie levels) and logging everything! It's quite eye opening but I've seen good results so far as have you it sounds like! And that's all without a workout? That's great.
