12 Hollywood Studios Rumors (A Disney Rumors video is on pg. 1) and (an update is on pg. 16)

I would love the idea of an Incredibles themed attraction because it's a great movie and not well represented at any of the parks. But I would hate to see the Honey I shrunk the Kids part go because I played on that as a child and I can't wait for my toddler to in a few weeks. Nostalgic attachment, I guess, but it one of my earliest memories of Disney.
The play area could be re-themed overnight to A Bug's Life (and therefore kept to the expanded Pixar theme) with virtually no changes other than a new sign. Have heard some recent rumblings that this might actually happen, so we'll see. For me, I'm just hoping that "Pixar Place" includes something beyond Toy Story. Adding Toy Story Playland (with three "flat rides") doesn't really do much to expand the Pixar presence beyond the one movie that is already represented with a ride in the park....when there is such great potential with other Pixar movies.

I hope it's still there later this year. My kids have just gotten to the age where they enjoyed watching Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, so it would be nice if they could play on that playground one last time before it's gone/changed!

I like the idea of changing it to A Bug's Life instead of getting rid of it. Sadly, I'm not sure how "relevant" Honey I Shrunk the Kids is to many of the kids that play on it now.

They better do something, we are not star wars fans and wen't 2 years ago. My kids said they would rather spend another day at MK, not sure if we will go back. We are planning a trip in January.

I wonder why they haven't done attractions and/or lands for the movies listed below. They are all true Disney Classics. They already have enough Beauty and the Beast, Mermaid and Finding Nemo attractions in the Disney parks.

Wreck it Ralph
Big Hero
Up
Wall-E
Incredibles
Inside Out
Tangled
Princess and the Frog
Hercules
Mulan
101 dalmatians
Jungle Book
Sleeping Beauty (except the lame walk throughs)
Lady and the Tramp
Bambi

No doubt they are leaving some of those gems on the table...

Big Hero 6, Wall-E and Inside Out (along with TRON, which as we now know, is being set up in Shanghai with the light cycle ride we've all dreamed of...at least a few of us have!) are all prime opportunities to give Epcot's Future World a much-needed facelift. There is chatter of Inside Out coming in at some point, so maybe that will happen. I know there are lots of Epcot fans who still do not want movies to take over that park, but at this point, that ship has sailed, so if there is room for improvement in any shape, form or fashion, I say go for it.

Wreck it Ralph would be a fun (and relatively inexpensive) overlay for the Tomorrowland Speedway.

Up (via Peter Pan's Flight-style ride), Incredibles (coaster or Uni IOA Spiderman-type ride), Ratatouille (boat ride from old lady's house to Paris) and Monsters, Inc. (the long-desired hanging/door coaster), could cement Pixar Place at DHS as one of the best "lands" at any Disney park, even if Star Wars is just a few steps away. Based on the continuing rumors, however, absolutely none of these movies (regardless of what type of ride it might be) will be a part of the new Pixar expansion...just more Toy Story stuff.

And a Jungle Book dark ride in DAK's Asia would indeed add a nice "plus" to that park.

what about the frozen fireworks show? Will that be taking place through September?

I think most of these films didn't do well at the box office, especially Lone Ranger. I wouldn't mind seeing a Mary Poppins Merry go round though. That seems like a perfect fit because of all the great music and the memorable horse scene in the movie.

Mary often hangs out in front of the carousel at MK, so although it's not named for her, I think they see that one as a box that has been checked.

As a lifelong Lone Ranger fan, I remain depressed about that movie. I actually enjoyed it (there was almost no way I wasn't going to, if only by sheer will power), but I can definitely appreciate how they could have tweaked it just a bit and made it more of a success. Even so, it still baffles me that they wouldn't at least have a meet and greet in Frontierland for LR and Tonto (or in DHS, since this thread is technically about DHS - ha!).

One of these days, if only in my imagination, there will be a park (in the U.S.) full of TRON and Lone Ranger rides, with a dash of Incredibles and Monsters, Inc., and I'll be happy as a clam.

HS will probably have a new ride opened by Spring of next year, and the new TS track as well. I think they will open things in stages and are probably planning at least a 2-3 year overhaul of the park.

Has anyone seen any construction going on in the old back lot area?

Yeah and Mary's on the great movie ride as well. So technically she's on a ride, it's just not about just her. That's good you liked Lone Ranger. I was disappointed with it, I thought they made the ranger too much of a wimp.

Nope, it seems like all the props are still there. It'd be cool if Disney was secretly building something though instead of just sitting on their keisters.

That might need another 3 billion

Anything with the 3 Billion price tag attached I don't believe. DCA got 1 Billion for the redo. DHS is hardly as in bad shape as DCA was.

Mary Poppins earned 13 Academy Award Nominations and has earned $102 Million Dollars over it's lifetime. The $27 Million over it's initial release allowed Walt to purchase the Florida Project land. I'd say it did it's job.

Well you better believe it. DHS is getting 2.8 billion including infrastructure so that's parking garages and stuff included. Both MK and Epcot get 300-350 million for various things. DHS is in bad shape they only have five rides a few shows it needs a lot of work. DCA at least still had more rides than DHS does. DCA didn't need the infrastructure upgrades.

I said "Most" and than said I'd like to see a Mary Poppins ride. I don't think they would do a Mary ride though, it's pretty old and it's a "live action" movie. Disney usually creates attractions based on their modern and classic animated films.
