Official Avengers Half Marathon Weekend 2015 Thread

Thanks so much for posting this. I can say that at least at Disneyland Half this year, they already had us pass through a bag check if you walked from a hotel on Harbor Blvd to the corrals - the same bag check to get into the parks. There were no lines at 4:45am (per my personal experience). And yes, bag check at Disney includes race belts (again in my experience).

But this sounds like they are adding some other check point that'll likely cause bottlenecks over in Downtown Disney. Glad we at least have some idea about this. Feel bad for those who won't pay attention to the emails or check this out on message boards like the Dis. I feel like a lot of folks are gonna end up arriving to their corrals even later.

I hope Disney puts out some kind of reminder on social media for those who didn't get or didn't read the email. But based on the spartan social media coverage of the race, I'm guessing that may not happen.

I think my Flip Belt will just stay nice and cozy under my shirt. There is no way I am shimmying that thing off and on.

I've been trying to download the waiver so I can get it filled out and what not before I arrive on Friday, but when it does the checker thing it can't find me. Can anyone direct me to a pdf of the waiver I can get?

Check your email confirmation again. Is it possible that you made a typo in your name or birthdate? Or try your birthdate plus/minus one day...sometimes Active.com messes that up.

No problem! It's a weird thing that happens from time to time...very common.

In my experience of waiting until the last possible minute to leave my hotel on Katella, they are very good a funneling you in a certain direction and blocking off the "easy" routes. This was definitely the case at the DLH this year. I imagine it will be the same with the new checkpoints. They will make it so that you have to walk a certain way to force you to go through their checkpoint.

Wow! Even pockets are checked. I keep my phone in the pocket of my running shorts, which is under my running skirt. I always feel self-conscious lifting the skirt to get to the phone, even though I am completely covered by the shorts.

It should make for a pretty interesting time at the checkpoint: "Ma'm would you mind lifting your skirt/shirt, so that I can check what you have underneath?" -- Suzanne

Every runDisney event I have been to the bag check standard has been 'if it has a zipper' they check it. I have taken note of that wording because my flip belt doesn't have a zipper...

That makes more sense. They never check clothing pockets at the theme park bag checks, so it seems extreme to do so at the running events. -- Suzanne

In September (Disneyland Half) they put a wristband on us at the expo. We wore the wristband all weekend and then after finishing the half, headed to a challenge tent. Once they saw the wristband they gave us the C2C medals.

will receive their Coast to Coast Race Challenge wristband at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo. Once you cross the finish line, please immediately visit the runDisney Coast to Coast Tent where your wristband will be used to award your runDisney Coast to Coast Race Challenge medal.
