Wine and Dine 2015

Is Raw Threads the soft t-shirt company? Every Disney race I've wanted to buy a slogan shirt from them but always change my mind ... I was going to do it this time, but they really didn't have any mens shirts with good slogans! Or it's not the same company I'm thinking of ...

RawThreads has bamboo shirts, so yes, they are soft, but I'm not sure it's the same company you're thinking of. They have shirts themes for princesses, villains, superheroes, holidays, and some more generic ones. They are pretty pricey, so I can't blame you if you have changed your mind a few times.

So excited -- I promised myself once I completed my first half marathon I would buy myself a pair of new running shoes, and today I got them!

Brooks Ravenna 6s!

Welp it's time for redemption-just signed DH and I up for the Star Wars Half in April. Training in the Midwest in the winter is going to be a beast, but oh well. Anyone thinking about joining?
Signed up for the Dark Side Challenge - grew up in Wisconsin and Iowa so I know winter running/training well...since moving to California I have to drive to Tahoe to get snow and cold these days...layers and hydration are your friend in cold climates - you'll do great!

Back to training - I have to survive the 2016 Dopey Castaway Rebel Coast-to-Coast Challenge in 50 days...

Oh Run Disney, thank you so much for allowing me to use the Wine and Dine (6.72miles) as proof of time for a 10K (6.1miles). That makes no sense. Ugh.

It's probably a difference of one corral. But for someone for whom this was their only proof of time, it will be better than being in the last corral.

Holy Miley! And I thought I was nuts for just doing Goofy Rebel! Good luck!!!

Goofy Rebel Coast-to-Coast Challenge is huge - congrats for tackling the beast - I've just got a few extra 5K and a 10K sprinkled in. Good luck and keep up the training - we've got seven weeks!!!

Hey all, got a question. Thinking of using the Princess/Tink runs next year as a basis for qualification for half fanatics. I would have to add a run between them but it would be doable I think. For anyone who has qualified for Half fanatics, do you have to do ALL the bullet points under a type; or just one?

iOW I want to go for Neptune status and as posted on half fanatics, the requirements are thus:

NEPTUNE
hf_moon_sm.gif

2 Half Marathons within a 16 day time frame.

3 Half Marathons within a 90 day time frame.

Am I to understand that you can do 3 halves in 90days OR 2 in 16 and EITHER will work but you DON'T have to do both? It seems like in the FAQ that's what they are saying but I'd like to double check.

In other news; I'm thisclose to signing up for RNRoll half Vegas next November.... Anyone want to have an impromptu corral H reunion in sin city next year??? :rotfl2:party:

Wow the NYC full. That's like grown up running or something lol

That's way above my newbie self. Lol

When will you know for sure? I'm gonna send some pixie dust your way!!!

I'll put in for the lottery, but after Dopey if I decide the full distance isn't absolutely GD miserable, I'll fundraise in if I don't get a lottery spot.

I'm fundraising into the half in March and I'm super excited about that one!!

I haven't qualified yet but I am 99% sure it is either one. I had been planning to use W&D and a local one this coming weekend to qualify, because the local one I ran on 10/17 was 21 days from W&D, but it ended up not mattering since W&D didn't end up being a half. So, I ran a different local one last weekend, and now I'm looking at maybe doing the Jingle Bell half in Atkinson, NH on 12/12 to qualify under 3 in 90.

Yup! Just one or the other. I've missed on Neptune twice this year (the first time NOT by my fault, the second time is totally on me).

I'm shooting for Saturn in February/March ... 4 Half Marathons in 4 different US states, Countries or Canadian Provinces (any combination) 51 days.
I've got Princess (Florida, February), Cowtown (Texas, February), NYC (New York, March). It sucks that Cowtown and NOLA are the same dang weekend. Grr.

Where do you find out about the requirements for this fanatics you are talking about?

If you need the W&D 6.72 miler 2015, for Proof of Time, find a prediction calculator and screen print the results. That should get you into the corral best suited, after a trip to runner relations. You most likely will get a better Proof of Time at a Turkey Trot;)

You can plug in arbitrary distances into this web form/ pace prediction calculator(CRAIG GODWIN'S CALCULATIONS):

Yeah, we were also hoping to use W&D as a qualifier for Half Fanatics. Oh well. I'm thinking of trying to find one more before the first of February which would get us in for the 3 in 90 days. Not sure I want to mess with it though...
