If I had the annual leave ("vacation time") and a spare AUD$1300 for airfare, USD$366 to upgrade my 8 day tickets to an AP, and say, USD$1,000 spending money, id be there in a heartbeat!!

This has become a very long and convoluted thread (I am as much to blame as anyone) but I would like to meet up with people as crazy as I am.
I will try to make it to the Dis meet at Hershey if work allows to meet these people who have become virtual friends, but still would like a meet & greet for us. I now realize we are talking about more than 1000 people, mostly folks who frequent other forums on here. Atlantic Dance Hall seems the easiest venue to handle the crowds.
I know we are still waiting for an itinerary of official events, but if anyone feels similar to me please feel free to contact me. I am considering special things for my wife such as the hot air balloon at DS, Jellyrolls, and even the boat cruise for either Wishes or Illumination if others join in to share the cost. If there is a total of 10 people (the limit) the cost would be about $36 per person plus the tip for the captain.

We would also be interested in hanging out outside of the official events. We won't be getting there until the 22nd and then are extending our trip through the 31st. Please keep me posted on what you decide. The Hershey Meet is also a good time if you can try to get there. You'll probably find us hanging out with Disney Steve and Marci near the chocolate martinis...

If we stay onsite, it will be at Pop. I just really hate the thought of staying onsite. It's such a huge downgrade from what we're used to when we go to Disney. We haven't decided yet.

I'm sure we will know details as soon as the team has those details to share. If we haven't heard them yet, it's because contracts are still pending and plans are still being finalized.

I understand it is frustrating because people want to make ADRs and plan other things but for now we just have to wait. All I know is that in 4 months we'll be having a big party together. That's good enough for me.

Has anyone been to a meet before, do they do big things?

I've been to a bunch of regional DIS meets (NJ, DE, Hershey, New England, Richmond) but those are different. Those aren't planned by the team.

I've never been to any event actually run by Pete and the crew. And they've never done anything quite like this before. They do DISapalooza every other December but that's a one-night event. They also do the Podcast cruises every other year (we're going this year!). I believe this is the first time they're doing a big, multi-day, multi-event program. I'm sure it's going to be a great one.

We did NE for the first time this past year. Had a great time and met a lot of great people. They aren't having it this year but you should definitely come next time.

We are having a "mini-meet" for a private showing of Finding Dory to benefit GKTW if interested.

And most of us will also be at the mega meet too
