Unusual and Inventive item ideas to pack

Do FE swim away frequently?
I don't think so. Especially not personalized ones. I mean, why would you want an FE that doesn't have your name on it? Mine is Disney themed but doesn't have any names on it because I often travel with friends and not always the same ones. I think a loss of door magnets may be more common.

Definitely scissors. A clock as there are no longer clocks in rooms. A hairdryer on the Magic/Wonder. Gallon ziplocs to put wet bathing suits in for the trip home.
Earplugs.

Really!?! There are no clocks? That is just ridiculous. Is this on all ships?

Wait, what?! There aren't clocks in the room anymore?! Its been a year since I've been on the Magic but we had a clock.

We were on the Wonder in March and there was a hair dryer in the desk drawer. The wall-mounted ones are still in the bathroom, but a new hair dryer is provided in the drawer. It even has a diffuser.

It seems the clocks are being phased out. As they break, they are not being replaced. Sometimes, if you ask, your room host can track one down for you. But I wouldn't count on it. We have a small, battery-powered, alarm clock we bring on trips.

What about ziplock bags?? I was thinking that before we went on our excursion in Atlantis we could visit the buffet and get some food items to take with us in ziplock bags??? Can you do that? We are looking to do Atlantis on our own, and we have been warned that food there is expensive.

Nope. Not allowed.

All food that crosses the threshold of the ship (on or off) must be prepackaged and factory sealed. If you want to bring food on your excursions, buy factory sealed, individual servings before you board and do not open them until you are ready to eat them.

Zip locks to take food to hold snacks on board totally works.

A zip tie. I don't want my fish extender to swim away. I never really thought that happened until I got a better one on Etsy and the seller suggested it. I'm also one of the people who brings a cup for refills at the drink station. I also usually travel with a wet bag (or big Ziploc bags) so that if I spend some time in the pool on the last day I don't have to worry if my bathing suit hasn't fully dried.

We also use the zip ties for the front pockets of our luggage when we don't have enough locks.

I ziptied my FE too (dont forget scissors so you can cut it loose!!). I t was super expensive and personalized, but I was more afraid of teenagers being turds and just moving it or taking it to be funny.

I also put our family name (small, not obvious, watermark style) on all of our magnets.

Actually, on our Norway cruise I noticed that there never was any mention of not being allowed to take food off the ship like I heard it on my previous cruises. This made sense to me as the issue of bringing food on land is a custom issue (you are importing the food into the country) and sailing from Denmark to Norway there was no custom issue as we stayed within the one custom area (Norway is a member of EEA and therefore participates in the European single market like all the EU countries). The same should apply to most Med cruises (at least the ones that only go to Italy, Spain, France).

We always tie ours to the metal fish with twine. We have had magnets stolen off our door, and our FE used as a trash receptacle, but never had it stolen.

One thing I always take with me when travelling is a few nice, generic blank cards with envelopes. I started when back when I was backpacking. When someone does something extra nice for you it's great to leave a card, if you find out your table mate or server is having a birthday it's great to have a card to pull out and give. It takes up no space and is just a fun little extra to have along in case there's an occasion to use it!

I did not realize food was not allowed off the ship, until the final afternoon of our first cruise. Daily I packed fruit in Ziplock bags, dry cereal, and Juice off the ship. Never had a problem. I will not do it again now that I know better.

I bring a small travel bottle of Febreze and spray my dirty clothes before I back them away to travel home. I've also used the Febreze to spray the couch or bed down just to make sure I use it all so I don't have to bring it home.

I would kindly ask you to reconsider that for those of us with scent sensitivities. I personally am very sensitive to febreeze, so if someone were dousing my room before I got in there it would be next to impossible for me to stay there and enjoy my cruise.
