2016 Disneyland Paris Half Marathon

Of course it's "doable", but not everyone's needs are the same. I get dehydrated and sweat a lot, so if I don't replenish every couple of miles atleast I will be in bad shape (and I'm sure I'm not the only one)...

Add in the fact that most half's have a better distribution of runners, walkers, etc .... And less photo ops!

I'm optimistic even still.

Don't forget to print out your voucher before arrival.
White A4 Paper, Blank on both side --> Do you think this means double-sided printing is fine... just as long as the paper was blank to begin with?
I'm printing on Letter because I dont have A4 paper...hopefully this is ok.

For those that have been to DLP before - do you need to bring your Passport to purchase alcohol in the park - and which park serves alcohol?
I recently had a great encounter at Disney California Adventure...... I was soo peeved, as the sign only stated valid ID 21+.. but when I went onto disneyland website - OF course the only take US Gov't issued ID and for everyone else.... even neighbours to the north - PASSPORTS......
Great!

I also sweat a lot and do not like to use a belt with a water bottle. Right now, it looks like, that we have to deal with a water stop every 5K.

BTW. someone answered my question for a course map tonight on runDisneys latest Facebook posting.

Sean Sims
It's being withheld for security reasons. As long as you're pepared to run or walk the distance you signed up for you'll do fine.

Hopefully they will release the map at the expo!

Both parks serve alcohol as do the hotels and the venues at Disney Village. I had mulled wine at Disneyland during the Christmas season and had alcohol at Disney Village and at the Disneyland Hotel and was never asked for ID.

I've never been to Disneyland Paris. But I've traveled A LOT in Europe. They rarely check id for drinking, particularly because alcohol ages there start at around 16. (In France it's 18 to buy alcohol. But like most European countries, there is no minimum drinking age for consuming alcohol there.)

Thanks Chris- that's exactly what I was thinking. I'm not too concerned about outside of DLP as I've travelled around Europe and haven't had a problem in the last.

But I wanted to avoid the same experience I had a DCA where they only accepted Passports for non US citizens.... I'm clearly over the age of 21, I even pointed that out and showed a photo of my passport... Didn't have any issue with anywhere else in California.

Anyone with insight - about carding policy and if they do card, will they need to show a passport. I don't want to carry my passport if I don't need it.

Thanks all.

Thanks

Thanks Corinna, I was hoping that was the case.

If you look clearly over 18, no one will ask for ID. Funnily enough I was also asked for a passport to drink at DCA :D California and Washington have gotten really strict on that, but don't worry about France.
We do have a minimum age on drinking of course - it is 16 for beer and wine, hard liquor 18 - at least in Germany, I believe France might be the same.

So that people don't get too excited, the PhotoPass+ RunDisney only covers the races and run weekend events (such as the party) if you require meet and greet photos or ride photos you will need to purchase these separately, either individually or using the normal PhotoPass+.
Looks like, it covers also the whole weekend in the parks!

runDisney Facebook Posting said:
Great news : For the inaugural edition PhotoPass+™ runDisney also includes all of your attractions and character photos taken in the Parks throughout the weekend!
Acquire yours at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo, at the Disney Events Arena in Disney® Village when you collect your race bib.

I am really disappointed in this merchandise :( the grey t-shirts are horrible (IMO) and the I did it ones look really cheap. How come at all the other RunDisney races the shirts are pretty colours and really nice? I'm hoping this isn't a sign of what the actual race t-shirts look like!
This isn't ALL of the merchandise - just a preview! :)

The post said that this are "some of the commemorative products that guests will find during the upcoming magical weekend", so hopefully there will be more at the expo!

I would say that these look like computer generated images rather than actual photos, so hopefully they will look better "in the flesh"

I am sure there will still be FAR too much merch finding its way into my suitcase on the way home :rotfl:

Taken from another discussion on Facebook! Seems, some emails are answered :-D

I had the same concerns about water/running belt. I emailed to asked about the water stops because online it only says only one at the 5km, 10km and 15km stops. They responded and said there would be a water stop every 2.5km. Hope that helps!

I am looking for an extra "ticket" for the inaugural party, which is sold out. I reserved the party for myself, but now I have someone traveling with me who would also like to attend the party with me. Does anyone have a party reservation they no longer plan to use?

I'm afraid I'm counting on no pre-order options since it's only 2,5 weeks till the event weekend. There's still so much info missing :(
I emailed them, and got a response that the commemorative items would NOT be available for pre-order this year, but are hoping to offer pre-orders for future events.

Has anyone that got upgraded from hotel Santa Fe received an updated booking confirmation? I also got the upgrade offer, they said I would be upgraded to Hotel New York and that I'd receive a new confirm within 48 hours and that was last week and I still haven't received anything.

Just received my upgrade confirmation this morning. I was getting worried about it, too!
