Round 2 for DVC.

Yesterday I just had this disbelieving glow and today I'm full-on excited. This was my second year applying and last year I was super thoughtful. Had people proofread, etc. Did not advance.

This year I forgot about it until the night before, couldn't decide which specialty to pick (DVC/WDW/runDisney) and then my husband needed the computer. It resulted in me going with my gut on the category, and dashing off answers the morning they were due--my application went in at about 11:50 am. The good thing about this was that I'd resolved to be more authentic and less "crafted" this year, and I certainly accomplished that. Although I wasn't sloppy, I wasn't as saccharine as my answers were last year.

That said, a few good friends did not make it to R2 and according to FB, they are heartbroken. So I am simultanously getting SO EXCITED (which I am trying not to do because the odds are not in my favor here) and feeling terrible for my fellow passionate moms who have as much love for and experience with Disney as I. I'm dreading telling them and so far they haven't asked, thank goodness. I suppose if I get knocked out in R2 telling them won't be so bad, so there's that--silver lining I'll stall

My DH does not care one whit, so you're all I have, guys! And I know nothing about this video round!

Found out yesterday that I made it to Round 2! Congrats to everyone else who did too!

Round 2 for WDW! Super shocked, honestly! Also extremely excited!!

Someone said it's in the 200-300 range? Not sure if that's based in any fact??

Congrats to you guys! Last year just over 110 people made it into Round 2. Out of that I think they took 9 maybe 10 people for the panel. I have not seen good numbers for this year.

The video prompt for the last two years was something about what makes Disney World a different destination for your family.

In my year, it was 60 seconds or less. I think there were some odd numbers one year a couple years back though!

Are there rules about the content? As in, do you just talk or can you splice in songs/trip photos/etc

It was 60 seconds for my video also. There was a given topic but I think normally you can splice, green screen, or do any thing that you need to do. I do not think that fancy professional videos get any bonus points and in reality may hurt your ability to show the real you.

Hey, everyone! I'm a long-time Disney lover, first time poster here! I just found out I'm advancing to Round 2 and wanted to find a support group. Any idea how many advanced?

just in the fb group the poll is at about 95. Which clearly isnt everyone!

I'm so happy for everyone here who advanced. I hope we have a few Dis'er's who go all the way this year! I got the dreaded "Not this year" email, but I don't think I was as "me" as I could have been, so next year I will be! And that just means I will need to make sure we have a WDW vacation this year... now to get planning!

I can't wait to follow along with everyone here!

I made it to round 2! Honestly didn't even know this was a thing until a friend of mine told me to apply because of how much I love to talk Disney. I think joining this thread will be the most info digging I will do. I'm already so excited/nervous about it I think looking at all the fancy things others have done with the videos will just make it worse!

I heard from a previous person that she heard back that she was a "no" about a week after the end of round 2 last year.

Did my video and answered questions, submitted last night! Whew!
