Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Hi all - couldn't find this answer by googling or searching this thread. Does anybody know if the spas (hot tubs) are open 24 hours in SAB? I have read conflicting reports and can't find info anywhere! If not does anybody know the average opening times? Particularly Fall (Sept)? My mum and I are keen to make use of these after long park days! Thank you in advance :)

Definitely no.

Once Stormalong Bay closes for the night, lifeguards leave and the gates are locked.

Opening of SAB is either at 9 am or 10 am. I have a place in Post 2 where I have reported the hours of SAB during particular months... when I remember...

I think it used to be the case that the spas/hot tubs at the quiet pools were accessible 24 hours a day, but I doubt that is the case now that the pools are gated. Posted hours at the quiet pools are 7 am to 11 pm (I think). I'm not sure if Magic Bands will give guests access during off hours. Anyone know? I would think not.

Is the quiet pool at BCV gated now? It wasn't we walked by in Dec. It's one of my home resorts. I don't remember seeing anything about a fence going up.

Time is still inching by but now starts the "one week from today I'll be doing ................. at Disney". Now if the week would just get here already! But one week from today I'll be waking up at Disney! :teeth:

The fencing and gates for the Dunes Cove Pool were nearing completion when we were there in January [1/4 - 1/12]. I would assume it is completed by now. Post 15135 [not my post] has some pictures of the fence and status during the first week of January.

From pictures I have seen the Dunes Cove Pool is now gated. The posted hours are 7 Am - 11 PM. I don't believe you can access it other than those hours

Hey Everyone!

My wife and I will be taking our first trip to Food and Wine Festival this year for our anniversary and we will be staying at the Beach Club. We are super excited about this, as we've never stayed at any of the Epcot resorts (we have stayed at AKL, Poly, and BLT).

We are booked in a standard room. We would appreciate any room requests, tips, tricks, or good things to know about the Beach Club. We will be there Sept 20-25.

Thanks!
Jared

I knew you guys would not disappoint! Thank you so much and such a speedy answer! I did recall that on our honeymoon DH and I had looked to see if we could use the spas in the late evening but there didn't seem to be access, just wondered if I had missed something though. We will see what fits with our schedule but really hoping for some good SAB time! Thanks again everyone.

In recognition of Read Across America Day/Dr. Seuss' Birthday today, I am posting the link to my very favorite trip report chapter I have ever written.

This is from 2011's "Welcome Foolish Muggles" and the theme of the report was Disney vets visit the Dark Side for the first time and review/compare familiar rides at the World to the ones at Universal.

Here's what happens when you take tweens to Seuss Landing:

Oh, the Places we Didn't Go!

:faint:

I loved this at the time and I love it now!! It makes me smile to see those horrified teenaged boy faces:lmao:. Thank you for brightening my day :thanks:

:welcome: Jared!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15 of this thread.

:woohoo:

A good place to start is on Page 1 of this thread. Post 1 has some general info, Post 13 FAQ includes some information about room requests and Post 14 has some interesting tricks and tips.

As far as room requests, what is important to your family may not be the same as it is for others. Full balcony? Daybed? Close to elevator? Away from elevator? Upper floor? First floor?

For me, my usual request is "Full balcony please" I will add "Daybed if possible" if my two teen boys are with me because they prefer their own sleeping spaces.

ETA: Also check out this thread- it has a sample of room views in the 3 view categories of the resort. The first post has an index of Standard Rooms, but you may want to check out the last couple of pages too because I'm not sure if I have indexed those pages yet

Hi Dee! Can you please add us for one magical night BC on 9/23? We're off on another Fantasy cruise and it wouldn't be the same without spending the day before at SAB !!! Thank you !!!

Will do! Sounds like an incredible trip.

Now, which excited smilies haven't you used?

:woohoo: :dogdance::cool1:

So, we are no longer CL- I got an AP for the discounts and possibly (if my husband relents) going again in 11 months, and saved $200/night switching to a GV with no CL.
And FYI, the CM who helped me for 2 hours said his system said the room renos would be done by May. I'm not sure how true that is, but just what he told me!

Got it! I'll adjust your listing.

Yeah, I'm kinda skeptical on the info you were given about the May date on the renos. I'm thinking it is going to stretch through the summer and possibly early fall.

That being said, we have had very few on-the-spot reports of where the work is happening right now.

Anyone who has upcoming stays at YC, please let us know what you are seeing and hearing!

:magnify:

Hi Everyone!! I need some advice, family of 4 going to WDW in April (13-21). We have the POFQ booked now but with an AP discount was considering changing to the Poly or BC. While I love all those resorts, I was wondering if anyone has had first hand experiences at these resorts for Easter. My kids love the candy scramble and I was wondering if the BC's candy scramble was insanely crowded? The one we did at POFR was awesome and not crowded at all. I'm trying to choose a resort that will make Easter special for us. If anyone can provide any info, I would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

:welcome:

I'll pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1, Post 15 of this thread.

:cool1:

nbd if you don't end up booking here.

pixarmom gave her input about the Easter scramble. Anyone else?

I do have the past Activities Calendars archived in a link on Page 1, Post 4 if you want to check the resort happenings the past couple of Easters.

:thumbsup2

Sadly, my stay in the 2 bedroom BC suite came to an end and we are back home.

I seriously considered staying and forcing them to evict me. I could have happily lived there for a few months.

GOOD NEWS! We have reserved a day bed for you in the Beach Club Fantasy Closet Suite. This imaginary suite enables those of us that never wish to leave to stay on in perpetuity. There you will find a never ending Sunken Treasure fountain, a dole whip machine, and assorted celebrities like Johnny Depp and Ryan Reynolds, partially clothed and waiting to refresh your drink. Our activities chairperson has planned field trips to special resort places like exit door 1501, the laundry room and the B.C. Marketplace. Once a day, whether we need it or not, a trip or 5 around the lazy river will occur. This activity is a thinly veiled attempt to find talent for the Stormalong Bay, Olympic, Synchronized Pool Tube Team. All guests who are not too drunk, minimally coordinated, and able to remain seated in a pool tube for at least 1 minute will be considered for membership.

So even though you have the sads now that your trip is over, your trip doesn't have to be over.

PS. Matthew McConaughey is in the dog house. He knows why...

This needs to be a thing. Why is this not a thing?

uh oh, maybe I planned too soon. I scheduled a resort only day hoping the movie on the lawn and campfire was on wednesdays. If my reseach was correct it was wednesdays all year last year? Does it rotate? I was really hoping to experience this, wont ruin my vacation or anything just curious. Does anyone have insight? I sure hope it changes by June.

Throwback Thursday, indeed...

For those who are not familiar, the fantasy closet is the legendary utopia where guests who are not ready to leave the Beach & Yacht Club can go to live out their days in vacation luxury. Problem is, MM took the keys, and then misplaced the map!

I did enjoy the trip down memory lane where:

The Be Our Guest list was kept in different posts by others

The Noodle Swap was still in full swing

and we enjoyed posts by the second funniest person ever to post to this thread, before she buzzed off into the sunset.

Secret Closet Resort & Spa

Now, back to our regularly scheduled shenanigans!

:rotfl2:

The great thing about the closet is we are going to rebuild it and Boardwalk is going to pay for it!!!

I noticed when I was posting this month's schedule that there were some big changes in March from previous months.

No way of knowing what the schedule will be or if there will be any changes in June. I think that some of the campfire/movie days have been consistent. Check Post 4 to track the nights that have had campfires to see when they have been regularly scheduled.
