2017 Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend

I really loved the drummers at TTC and the choir (I fought back tears actually at that point).

I'm not even religious but the gospel singers get to me. You're just SO CLOSE by that point. I once saw it described as something like..."when you hear gospel you're almost done or you're dead...either way your run is basically finished."

Could you ride the carousel at MK? I saw it running but no riders....and I was curious!

Someone on the FB page I'm on said she had an expectation of riding, but it wasn't open (I got the impression from her that it wasn't running at all). So who knows?

I'm not sure about the carousel, but I want to say no. I feel like their rule of thumb is that you can ride rides during regular park hours only - during the marathon, for example, the MK is early and they'll have the Teacups going, carousel and I think even the Mine Train, but no one rides since it's about 7AM. The first ride available is Everest - most people are passing through right as AK opens and can hop on to ride.

I feel like it's likely an issue of not having the rides fully staffed since the parks aren't technically open yet, but I could be wrong.

The next thing you'll be able to buy is an extra pass so you can ride the rides during the races. Ack! Why did I say that? I just put it in Disney's brain!

Ok people, I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot. I cannot figure out how or where to see my pictures. I followed the link on the results page but I don't see where to enter the 2017-prin-hlf****.
Please a little help!!

RE the people who don't want to mess up their outfit with their bib...I would think if you spent that much effort on an outfit, you would definitely want pictures. I would!

I know our 2:30 pace group really tried to have proper race etiquette, but it didn't always happen because people just won't move over to the right if they are a slower runner or walking. There was also the issue with groups of people stretching across the entire course instead of rows of two.

I do my best, but I run with VERY short intervals, so I can't always get over to the right in time.

She posted a pic on a princess Facebook page. Breezy little "sorry" to anyone she might have hit with her wings. I refrained from commenting. But if that guy who starts dead last and counts his "kills" (people, mainly women of course, he passes) posts there again I WILL comment. I saw him and his shirt in the line for beer and there were several of us (strangers) talking about how offensive that is.

I saw her! It was a great costume, but definitely annoying if she was near you. At least they were inflatable I guess.

Ugh, yes. I saw his post in one of my groups and I found the whole concept frustrating. Seemed like some people really got into it, but I'm not a fan.

I saw that too. I didn't like it at all.

Oh I couldn't have done it at 15, either. I ran with my big dog, but not huge distances, and only fast in short bits. :)

Definitely. I couldn't run a mile without collapsing when I was 15.

Did we speak over the weekend? Because I have been using that line for years. HaHa

And may I add that those snack packs we got at the finish were horrible, but I ate most everything in it when I returned to my room.

I have this in the generic runDisney version (wearing it right now actually) and it is pretty true to size. It is sort of athletic fit but I bought the size I am in t-shirts and it is quite comfortable. I love this top, highly recommend!
Thanks, super helpful! It's on the Shop parks app and I have a merchandise credit I can use toward it that I couldn't use in the parks. Looks comfy! :)

I keep hoping the 5k magnet will show up, but looks like no luck. I was trying to get one for a friend, and accidentally bought the blue mickey one instead of the Princess 5k one, since I didn't know there was a princess specific one. But now I know for the future!

I loved the snack boxes after the 5K & 10K. I could have eaten gobs of that fake cheese and tortilla chips. They were a bit different after the 1/2. They had a different protein bar instead of the Clif bar and a trail mix instead of cranberries.

I love the snack boxes too. The salty chips and cheese hit the spot after a run, ditto to the applesauce. Oreos for later :)

I thought chips were the best thing in the snack box. I thought the cheese was awful, but I ate it ALL. I don't like Oreos (took them home for DH), and would have loved the cliff bar over the protein bar in my box.

I actually still haven't eaten my chips/cheese. I went straight for Mickey waffles post-race (even before showering, gross I know). Another food confession: a little later in the day on Sunday, I tried the infamous "School Bread" after riding Frozen Ever After and thought it was terrible.

The boxes are actually fairly mixed. I had a clif bar and cranberries in my half snack box, but a different protein chocolate bar and a different set of dried berries (not trail mix, but not craisins either) in my 10K box.

I usually can only eat the chips and Oreos from most of the boxes I've gotten from these races. Everything else (including the banana) usually either goes to someone else or in the trash. Couple Tinks ago, I got a bag of Krave cereal in one of my boxes, though. Tasted terrible, but the texture wasn't awful at least and it was something different.

If anyone wants extra cheese at Tink and sees me after one of the races, you are welcome to mine, lol! Can't stand the stuff.

Did anyone have friends or relatives using the ChEAR Squad package? Wondering what the blanket was made of and how big. Were the beverages offered free or at another cost? Basically looking for any information I can find to see if it is worth getting DS's GF a package seeing as she will be heading over to the finish area once seeing us off at the start. Don't want her uncomfortable waiting for a few hours.

Thanks for posting about the merchandise. The "I did it" 5k shirts sold out in front of me at noon the first day of the expo, but I was able to get that, and a magnet I missed, through the app.
