Popcorn Refills

I confused about the land and sea comment...I thought the refillable buckets were good for length of stay like the mugs? My next trip may involve teenagers (pray for me!) and I thought this might work, not that they could bring their old ones - which I know they have because I've been buried under their random tupperware cabinet before:)
Once you purchase a refillable bucket you can refill it for $1.50 either on land or sea. Unlike the refillable mugs that are only refillable for length of stay, the popcorn buckets can be brought back on future trips to WDW or on a Disney cruise and be refilled for $1.50 each time.

Conceivably they could end this at any time but right now it's up and running.

For those who have purchased the flavoured popcorn, can these be refilled too? Is the cost still $1.50 or more. They had flavoured popcorn on the Fantasy but it was sold in clear bags and was an additional cost, not just $1.50.

Yes! Still $1.50.

I've looked on the epcot menus and can't find the flavored popcorn. Can anybody chime in with the flavors. A few have been mentioned but wondering all the flavors.

I'm not familiar with the land and sea deal, but the signage at MK two weeks ago clearly indicated that popcorn refills were $1.50 "for the length of your stay." YMMV in practice.

Let's compare to the other "Refill" option - the mug. One pays $12.99 (??) for the Rapid Refill Mug at resorts and then all refills are FREE.... or if you're staying on Resort Property, the Rapid Refill Mug is FREE and so are all the refills...
Can't see myself paying $1.50 to refill that mug with Coke products, can't see myself paying $10 + $1.50/refill for popcorn.

IMHO the outrageous outset price of the Refillable Object is reasonable, paying additionally to refill it is not.
Coca-Cola provides the actual drinks in the fountains to Disney for free, so they make enough on the top line just doing the mug itself without charging for refills.

Thanks @ElizaDoesDisney ! Good to know! Did you happen to purchase one of the refillable buckets? If so, does it have a chip in the bottom similar to the mugs that the cast members scanned before refilling?

I don't doubt that the sign says this as you saw it yourself, just wondering if they actually scan the buckets prior to refilling? If they do it will save me packing my bucket in September. I know on the ship they just refilled them and there was no scanning involved. The crew members there said they would refill any bucket that had been purchased at WDW, DL or DCL. Possibly this is just something they do on the cruises?

I think they had cheddar, sour cream and another one like buffalo or something but don't hold me to that. We just noticed them as we walked by heading toward the visa picture stop.

I had no clue the sea buckets were refillable at the parks. I have never even seen that mentioned anywhere from Disney.

Thank you both! I was thinking there were a lot move flavors.

We do a mix. Buffalo and Sour Cream and a good CM will alternate layers for you. So good, that spice mixed with the cool ranch like taste.

I'm wondering if this is similar to how the refillable cups were. More on your honor, rather than a chip. Of course chip may be coming, especially if people bring back old buckets.

The difference @MaryLovesPoohBear is that on the cruise I was told by numerous crew members that it is completely acceptable to bring the popcorn buckets purchased on the ship to the parks and vice versa and I didn't see any signage to the contrary. I'm going to take ours to the parks in September and see what happens.

Can confirm that they are still doing it, at least they were as of last week when I was at the parks.

One interesting note, I happened to notice that the bucket was $10 at the stand near jungle cruise, but $11 at the stand in Frontierland. I'm not sure if they were different versions of the bucket --- but thought that was odd. Maybe a price increase that hasn't rolled out park-wide or perhaps just an anomaly.

I noticed this too. The Frontierland stand only sells maple flavored popcorn and charges $11 for the bucket, but still just $1.50 for the refill. You can refill the $10 buckets with maple popcorn at this stand for $1.50. It made no sense to me but I was thrilled. Especially since I LOVED the maple popcorn. I really didn't think that I would like it because I am not a fan of kettle corn at all. However, the MK Maple Popcorn is delicious!

I have to try this in November!:)

We bought a refillable Christmas bucket at the MK in November and the CM told us we might be able to bring it back next year and still get refills on it. She mentioned that until Disney tells them differently they were aloud to do this. I am keeping my eye on this thread to see if anyone has luck doing this!:teeth:

I purchased a bucket in November and used it in the parks and then on my cruise. The DCL cast member even joked about my getting it at the parks. The DCL bucket says Disney Parks as well.

I am a popcorn junkie and this is totally me thing.

Is Popcorn available at Arts Of Animation food court?
