This Is Us- Season two

chooses to see Rebecca as the bad person

They even pointed that out in her interaction with Jack last episode. Teenage Kate asked if the queen had let him back home. Interesting insight mousefanmichelle re: the impact of Jack's choices with her.

Ok, because of dumb baseball, I wasn't able to finally watch this until last night.
I too, like so many of you, had the thought, I hope I haven't done to my daughter the things Rebecca did! I know she surely didn't mean to. Kate was a bit mean though. I loved when she made her the dress, that was sooooooooooo sweet, and showed how proud she was of her. I was sad that she didn't sing it.

Sorry to you Beth haters I still love her! I thinks he is exactly what Randall needs and when she is on him, it's because she knows him so well and knows he needs a bit of a push.

And LOVED Sophie with Kevin last night. She is so perfect for him, and the flashback scenes at the talent show were adorable!

I agree. I like Beth and believe she's perfect for Randall. She is exactly what he needs in a woman.

WOW what an episode.

This episode was more what I was expecting two episodes ago.

It was nice to see William again. I forgot how much I liked his character until that scene on the stairs.

I have a new theory on how Jack dies..the fire happens and everyone gets out. Jack realizes that Kevin isn’t there and rushes back into the house to find him..and doesn’t come back out. Kate feels guilty because she didn’t tel Jack that Kevin wasn’t home; Kevin feels guilty because Jack was trying to save him. Kevin definitely still has feelings about Jacks death that he hasn’t dealt with yet.

The ending was a real gut punch. When we hear Kate say ‘he’s just like you’ and then we see Kevin swallowing a pill (painkiller)..I actually said OH NO.

Thinking about it though, all the kids have addictions just like Jack. Randall is addicted to being perfect, Kate is addicted to food, and maybe Kevin will become addicted to pills.

I think we were given some clues, but I couldn't connect them. When they were doing the quick scenes, they were showing teenage Kevin in the hospital, Jack with him, and some other quick snippets. I got that the current knee injury was from whatever happened to teenage Kevin with the cast. We found out where the dog came from. The notebook that Jack was writing his thoughts in is probably the notebook next to Rebecca in the car.

Great episode

I did, too!!
Yeah, we spoke to the TV when he took the pill too!
I cried when we saw William, I miss him so much.
So we know where the dog came from, and we know Jack gave Kevin his dogtags when he was in the hospital with whatever happened to his knee (that just happened again). But what I could not quite get, even rewinding and watching again...Kevin was laying down in a station wagon and Kate was outside the window with tears??? I could not see what exactly was going on in the car, could anyone else?
Loved Stallone!! It was kinda funny, he did so much talking, then occasionally we would see Ron Howard say one or two words, then be gone again LOL.

I was wondering the same thing about that scene - it went by so fast I couldn't catch what was going on in it.

Is anyone else annoyed by the extreme number of commercials in this show this year? It's ridiculous. Drives me insane. They have nearly the same amount of time devoted to commercials as they do show!

YES. Last season I watched the episodes on amazon but this year there are four shows I'm watching and I had to choose the two cheapest to purchase on amazon - trying to be frugal here, lol. But man, the commercials are a PAIN!

I rewound that scene several times as well. I can’t figure it out. If the house was burned down in that scene the vehicle wouldn’t be there and I can’t see Kevin crashing in it if the house was burned down.

I didn’t notice any more than usual but my TiVo has a function to “skip” so it may not have registered with me. I never watch in real time.

I think kate walking up to car was her going to tell kevin of the fire. shes wearing the same clothes as when she was crying on sofa. Im guessing the scene with him kissing sophie was during the fire, him in the back of the car after... then kate shows up to tell him.

Oh that makes much more sense than what I was thinking.

maybe kevin and sophie were having special night together in the car? I didn't see much in the car, but gobs of blankets, maybe she was covered up?

That would be...challenging, with the cast so far up his leg :-)

It was so quick I could not figure it out either.

I think the dog may be significant. Maybe Jack runs back in to the burning house to save the dog?
