They only mail the DME tags within North America, and I think that’s limited to Canada and the US. Not overseas. They tell us if we want to use them we have to give our claim tickets to DME after we,be collected our luggage off the first carousel, been through customs and put it on the next carousel.

If I have to collect it once, then I might as well just keep it with me
Thanks. Didn’t know that. Where do you go thru customs? Not UK? I fly US airlines so I can go thru customs in Vancouver. I hate having to change planes in Canada, get luggage, go thru customs, put luggage back on carousel, what a pain.

We don’t go through customs until we land in the US. No pre-customs for us. So that’s likely the reason behind it.

There are many rooms near parking lots that will have easy access. The big difference between the 2 you’ve mentioned is currently refurbished room vs non- refurbished room. Depending on when you go that will be the biggest difference. If you are driving and want a room closer to your car, I really think choosing any area will be about the same.

Building 1 in the 50s is convenient to parking too, and I've requested that building in the past when I've had a car. But as scappinginontario recommends, if you're traveling soon before the 50s gets the new rooms, you may want to request the 80s/90s section as you're thinking.

In my opinion the new rooms are the reason to stay at Pop, which was already my favorite choice before the new rooms.

For my visit last month, I requested 80s because I wanted a new room and I also had a car. I was in building 7 and it was perfect for parking, and we liked being near a pool.

We drive, we haul too much stuff and we do drive part time .... 60's and 70's are the worst for going back and forth to car. 50's has some farther rooms in Bldg 3 but the other two buildings are great. 80's and 90's are surrounded by parking.

Thanks! We’ll be checking in on 8/25 for a week, so I think most, if not all, will be complete by then!

At Pop now. Today is our non park day. Question: is the fan in the bathroom supposed to run all the time? It doesn’t cut off when the light is off. We’re in building 7 in a renovated room.

Thanks.

It's supposed to be triggered by a sensor. Basically, it's supposed to go on when you're on the pot and stay on for a little while. It's not triggered by the light. If it's staying on all of the time though and doesn't stop, then there is an issue.

Thanks. We had maintenance come and look at it. They’re spost to fix it today.

The fan runs randomly. There is no rhyme or reason to when it starts or stops.

Wgen working properly it is motion sensored by someone in the room. If it’s running randomly it should be reported so that maintenance can repair it. Unfortunately seems many are needing repairs and tweaking.
Mine would run randomly when I was laying on the bed, alone in the room. I reported two issues to maintenance and neither were addressed or fixed before I checked out.

I think it was on a motion sensor of some sort because it seemed to run every time I was in the bathroom regardless of if I turned the light on or not. There were other times that it seemed to randomly turn on by itself when I was in bed

I thought the bath fans were humidity sensor. (And as FL is just humid, I can imagine it going on seemingly randomly when you aren't even in the room. I.e., if someone opens the room door, a few minutes later some of that humid air could travel to the bath fan's sensor.)

Based on a quick search I did, there doesn't appear to be towels available at the pools. Is this still correct? We are arriving really early and flying Frontier, so we have limited space in our personal items/carry-on. Will the front desk give us towels if our room isn't ready when we arrive so that the kids can swim in the pool?

In this thread? The person who started the original thread is no longer on the boards. I have new pics taken and hope to start a new thread. Just need to get my computer to cooperate as it has molasses flowing through it and is moving painstakingly slow! :surfweb:

That's great! Seems like a new thread is needed for sure.

Hi all!! We are heading back on a bit of an impromptu trip (we usually plan several months ahead, but our end of July trip just turned in to an end of May trip). Pop is booked , so we had to book ASSp. Any chance there will be more rooms open up as the renovations progress (I promised the boys I'd check daily)?? Can anyone make me feel less freaked about NOT staying at Pop??
