Just found this thread and signed up so I could comment. Going in two days!! Jan 4-8 staying at boardwalk. So cool to see other people who we might run into; never knew this was a thing!!

Also insanely happy I just found my old pins from when I went as a kid -- some are from early 2000s. Only have about a lanyards worth but they're practically retro at this point.

I’m a teacher and went back to work yesterday. I’m working tomorrow and my flight is at 6:40pm. I took a personal day on Monday which is the day I return. I wish we had the full 2 weeks off!

Yup!! I didn't get a new MB this time around and it's nice not to have another band that I'm probably not going to end up using but I'm still sad I didn't have one coming in the mail!

5 days for us too!!! I think the wait times will get better on Monday, they might increase a little during the marathon but from what I’ve read it doesn’t seem to impact things too much

I've been saying that my boyfriend should get a new job since mid last year ... so he finally decides to interview this month and is planning for his last day of work to be the day before we leave

Sitting in the airport now! We’ll be in Florida in just a few short (long with my anxiety) hours! Can’t wait!!

Three weeks today! I realized that declining Magic Bands is great in theory, but sad when I don't get a package in the mail to make me feel like it is really getting close. Excited for all the early January travelers and keeping my fingers crossed for good weather for all of those traveling down soon.

What is the benefit of declining the bands? Is it just that you have old ones or never use yours?

No real benefit other than not having more than we need. We use them, but have old ones from past trips and APs. I also bought one last year and have been mostly wearing that. My husband and daughter are fine with the colors they have.

I got an email from Touring Plans increasing the crowd levels every day of our trip... some significantly. I figured the original low numbers for HS and AK were too good to be true. Oh well, we will roll with whatever is happening! We’ve got our FP for SDD and FOP, so I’m good.

SIX MORE DAYS! I’ll be packing this weekend so all I have to do Wednesday night is throw in last minute stuff. Our flight is at 5:50 am on Thursday so we will want to be ready to just grab the bags and go in the morning.

I am so ready for this vacation, and my 18 year old and 16 year old sons can’t wait to have a break from work and school. And my hubby, who likes Disney but isn’t obsessed like I am, told me last night that he can’t wait to be at the happiest place on earth. Yay!

Would that be because of the Disney Marathon, or some other event that I'm unaware of? I hope the crowd levels are relatively low while we are there (1/7 - 1/11).. neither I nor my girlfriend are able to handle large crowds very well.

I do think it’s because of the marathon. The dates that increased significantly for HS and AK are the 10th, 11th, and 12th - from 2 and 3 to 9 and 10. I don’t know if they increased for the earlier part of your trip since I’m not there until the 10th.

I'm going in February as well and crowd predictions shot up for all of my days then too.
