DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Top O the Mornin Dads! Had a blast with DS hanging out and just enjoying all things Star Wars for 5 days and a lot of good memories made. Caught up around here yesterday and seems to be the same shenanigans for the most part. Made FP+ reservations yesterday for June trip so a nice way to end our Star Wars trip making the final plans for our WDW trip. Liking this 3 day work week thing 2 weeks in a row though, could get to use to this. Have a good one gents!
Don't know who coined the phrase "feels like dogsh!t", and I don't how it was determined or measured, but that is how I feel. Did the online Dr thing and need to get my antibiotic. Ugh.
Hope nothing significant and hope you feel better
5 more sleeps till WDW:dancer:. Going for a haircut after DS gets home from school, I can't believe how much my hair grew when I had the flu in Feb:scared1:. We should be getting into Orlando airport around 8:40pm, since MK is now open to 12, you know I had to make some Fps for 9,10 &11:thumbsup2 The 9pm one is in the air on if we will make it or not, since Im going to precheck in I don't have to stop in the lobby only the gift shop to get a couple bottles of vitamin R:drinking1
Now that's an aggressive FP+ plan! Have a blast and safe travels

Hello gents, looks like I missed a few pages. I'm sure there was lots of intellectual discussion that is far over my head, so I haven't scrolled through to check. I hope all is well.

Besides work being busy, I had a full weekend with dance competition #2 of 3.This is the one I had agreed to attend instead of just dropping DW and DD11 off to it. Mind you, I only went for a few hours at a time, long enough to catch DDs dances and awards ceremony. She (and the others in her groups - she doesn't do solo dances) got 1 gold, 2 diamond, and 1 platinum award. She was happy with it. It's a long weekend, but I always remind myself there are worse things she could be doing.

I did take the opportunity to get my alien swirling saucer off the couch and do a hike after I dropped them at dance Saturday morning. Those on FB have already seen, but I wanted to share with the others.

I walked the Signal Hill Trail in St. John's, Newfoundland. It's not a long trail, but it starts and ends with a sizeable cliff. You'll see from the pictures that it wasn't particularly warm, but there is a rugged beauty to this part of the world.

Below picture is at the top of the trail. The farthest point of land in the distance is Cape Spear, the Easternmost point of land in North America.

It's hard to make out, but you can just see the staircase going up the cliff in the top right of the below picture.

Pay attention to the red chair. It's the one I'm sitting in for my selfie to prove I did this.

Fort Amherst (WWII artillery). The water between is called "The Narrows", the entrance to the city's harbour.

The climb back up...not for the faint of heart or sadly out of shape. I managed, although my legs are still a bit sore. I'm standing on stairs, but they are basically straight up.

And lastly, for those intellectuals in the room, your history lesson for today.

Evening boys from a bit of a drizzly London. Empty house, so I might watch Man U v Barca. A highly nutritious dinner of Tortilla Chips and salsa awaits. Salsa is technically vegetables, right?

Hello gents,
i was reading the sign. "The French were compelled to surrender"....there's a phrase you don't hear much (cough)
I'm sure VAR will fix all this, just like it did for the NFL.
I don't want VAR. It would stop me moaning.
Play should have been called back as he became active, and the others were affecting play, but I'll get over it.
Hope you feel better man. Get yourself checked out.

Have a great evening chaps.

Hope you feel better, but...

How are you two not nemesis?!?

Isn't that nemesi?

We're both PSAs (perpetual smart alien swirling saucers)

This is very true!

Because we're just teasing and having fun with each other and WE know that.

What? We are?

Er….

I mean...

Yeah...

Sure...

Teasing.
Yeah, that's what it is.

:rolleyes2

:lmao:

5 more sleeps till WDW

Getting close!

I'm the shepherd that could totally kick his butt if I wanted to.
:rotfl2:

Very true. As an American, it's almost guaranteed you have a minimum of 47 guns.
However...

I will tease you with a plate of poutine and distract you thusly.

Actually... I can just see a fight between us.
You'd try to kick my butt, but in the trying, slip and fall on yours and probably break a hip. I would flinch in response and throw my back out.

World's quickest and lamest draw.

Tonite another new episode of Oak Island is on :happytv:. I won't tell you what it was about this time since you are a episode behind,:scratchin

Yep. It's on Sundays here. And I just saw the top come off the well and the Loonie being found.

:lmao:

or maybe you fell asleep before it came on, from working all that overtime:confused3

Nah. I won't sleep until tomorrow.

Glad you had a great time. :)

Nice!

She (and the others in her groups - she doesn't do solo dances) got 1 gold, 2 diamond, and 1 platinum award.

Congrats to her!
My eldest was telling me about the gold/diamond/platinum rankings just the other day.
(She teaches now)

::yes::

Thanks for all those photos Jeff. :)

Huh! Your backyard looks pretty similar to those stock photos of Signal Hill.

Fort Amherst (WWII artillery).

Really! Huh!

I'm kinda confused. Did they run out of actual content and needed filler so felt it necessary to state the obvious?

It doesn't still, but in the early days of Google, you could search "french military victories" and it would respond "did you mean french military defeats?"

Have a great trip and enjoy the rum.

Feel better Norm

Thanks Ron.

Thanks. And between you and Dave Nicely, Star Wars looked fun.

Yeah, dance recitals. I didn't realize there were any battles in Canada. Did they fight with extra U?

I don't want VAR. It would stop me moaning.
Hope you feel better man. Get yourself checked out.
.

VAR won't solve anything. I don't like any of the replays in any sports.

Hope you feel better, but...

:lmao:

I guess he had a medical degree. I got an antibiotic and do feel better.

But it would give the info that the French army supplies sunscreen. So their troops armpits don’t get sunburn.

(This could run all week)

Gentlemen.
It has come to my attention that it is not a day of rest and I would like to lodge a complaint.

On a lighter note.
Yesterday was Dad's 88th birthday and while the hearing might not be so good, the ol' man is still all there and we had a good time taking him out for dinner.
My kids surprised him when we got him back home and shared some cake too.
All in all, a pretty enjoyable evening.
