*** July 2019 - Check In ***

Your on - first on the list for July due to your 1st July check-in! If you get a chance to check in with us whilst you're there and let us know how it's going we'd love to hear - perfectly understandable if you're too busy enjoying your time there though - especially travelling with 2 small children!

Yes, I've read quite a few comments about people surprised at the availability of hotels/reservations for that time period. It's going to be very interesting to see how it all plays out with crowds etc... when we're there.
You've made some good plans there already in quick time from finding out about your surprise trip. I'm sure you'll have a ball : )

Yes I was shocked we had no problem getting a close hotel and ALL the dinning we want 30 days out. Like WOC dessert party, fantasmic, lamplight and character meals all the times we wanted.

I received this email from Grand Legacy and thought I'd share it with those of you going in July. I've never stay here, but I'd be willing to try it for 50% off. I ran some sample dates, and saw rates as low as $79.

You are my new best friend. We had del sol booked for 875 and were just able to get the grad for 477. Saving 400 on hotel costs for a “better” hotel. I don’t know you, but I could kiss you.

Well with the great hotel rate, get away today’s 5th day free, and southwest easy to change flights, we added a day! So now we will be there juky 1-6 and will have 5 day hoppers! Feeling good about that. Won’t feel as rushed. I know my kids are going to want to take a break to swim.

So excited today was the first day of reservation times opening for our trip! We are so ready for our trip.

Made all our reservations a couple of weeks ago. We are there July 5-14. Looking forward to a super relaxing trip with lots of free time in the afternoons! And planning to hit Galaxy's Edge twice.

This group is quiet!

Mint julep bar will be serving a watermelon one this summer!

The I want this sorcerer Mickey milk shake.

I think everyone is waiting to see what crowds do.

A little more about our trip. We fly in on the first from Iowa and arrive to Disneyland resort around noon. We will hit the park that day. We have 4 more full days with maxpass. We love reservations and have WOC dessert party, riverbelle fantasmix, 2 character breakfasts and lamplight. We try to do one each day. We do Minnie’s before the park opens on a day we don’t have magic morning. We also have the plaza inn parade package booked, but not sure we will keep it. If we can get spots for the parade in the days before, I’ll cancel it. I’m just not sure what crowds will be like!

We are flying early on the 28th. Got our hotel and tickets for knotts berry farm and medevil times. Then the 29th we are headed to disneyland and the grand for 5 days and nights. Got our WOC dessert and fantasmic reservations made this week👍👍. So now we are just in a holding pattern of a whole lot of waiting.

>>>Schmoozies is now serving a Sorcerer Mickey Shake and a Lemon Blueberry Magic Donut! These new additions are the perfect way to celebrate the arrival of the Mickey’s PhilharMagic attraction in the park.<<<

Thank you for posting about these. They both look amazing and I've added them to my (already very long!) food / treats list that I must try. I've also made all my plans for when we are there so it is just a matter of sitting and waiting now.....
Have been watching all the reports from SW:GE with interest. It seems to have gone amazingly well and the 'crowd' levels this week in the rest of the park have been amazing - wish I was there now.
It is just a matter of being patient and waiting though. I think after the 24th things are likely to change dramatically and I'm waiting impatiently to see how that will pan out. Luckily we have a few days after that before we all go so we can see how things are going in the parks from the 24th - I don't fly out from here till the 5th. Then I will make some firmer plans on how to handle our time in the parks.

We are not into SW at all but if we can get in to have a gander at the land without a long wait then we will probably have a walk through at least. The only thing I would really be interested in seeing would be the Cantina but reading these reports I gather that probably won't happen as it is proving to be one of the most popular experiences. My husband might do the MF via SR if not a long wait but I'm not sure he has that much interest in it - Disney is my thing, not really his. I don't think I could go on the MF - I don't go on rides like Star Tours that cause me motion sickness and just the short of the ride on the D/L website opening page makes me a bit queasy!

So...just watching and waiting at the moment. Waiting on peoples reports after the 24th!

The last couple of weeks I have been looking into our plans for our trip to Tokyo Disneyland in December - I am really struggling with that. It just seems all so complicated and is really giving me constant headaches. My window for booking a Hotel/vacation package opens in the next week or so and I think I'm going to end up dropping a few 'thou' on an on-site booking.
The costs involved in everything in Japan is unbelievable. It makes our lowly USD/AUD conversion rate look downright cheerful in comparison.
My son and I flew to Shanghai for 2 days last year to do D/L there and it is was nowhere near as hard as I am finding this whole Japan planning.

Frankly, I can't wait to get to Anaheim to my 'home' park and relax and enjoy the atmosphere there and forget about the Tokyo planning for a while!

Don't worry - either way, I think you guys will have a wonderful trip - you're at Disneyland :-)
Wow - if I'm looking at the map of the USA correctly that IS a long drive. Almost as far as me coming from AUS :rolleyes1
I'm sure you'll do fine and it will be quite the adventure for you all with a great reward when you arrive!

I haven't made any dining reservations. I'm leaving it wide open because our focus is SWGE so I'll be watching the reports closely to figure out our strategy after 6/23.

Decided a bit last minute to go in July for my son's 9th bday. We will be there July11-14 @ Holiday Inn (the one to the West on walnut, not sure the name). We've talked about upgrading the past couple years, but we will finally pull the trigger and test the new flex pass at the end of the trip. We're very excited to check out SWGE so not making any dining reservations this time.

Ill be staying at the Tropicana Inn and Suites! :)! Less than a month away!

I'm interested to see how hot it will be again this year. I was here last year also for the "record breaking" day on july 6th when it hit 113degrees. Very interesting experience :sunny:

Geez, let's hope not! We regularly get that in the summer where I live but I'm usually inside in the air-con, not out and about in a theme park.
We had a day like that when we went to Six Flags Magic Mtn on our July 2016 trip. Over 105 degrees - man, we just about died. There isn't much shade there! I spent over $100 just buying cold water for us - I rarely drink water but I sure did that day : )

Yes it was very bad at 113degrees you could feel the heat drying your throat :crazy2:. It was a terrible day for the CM's around 11 the app and all fast passes shut down so no one could get anymore. Then around 12 Incredicoaster- TSM and Cars all shut down at the same time. Never seen so many CM's getting yelled at before. Lots of water and a hydroflask saved us!
