Spring Surprise (March 31-April 3rd 2022)

Maybe they could have a separate runners only area that put out items each day based on next race/logically when a runner would be arriving to pick up bib. There should still be the main retail area for everyone else. And the runners area should include ppl with the runner there to support them. This way friends and family could be there also.

I just think there should be something for the marathon (or last event of weekend) runner who is coming into WDW near the end of the weekend to still have a shot at items that took often are long gone from the shelves.

I would vote for more pre-orders. Maybe they could send a link to runners with low limit per bib at the same as the guide goes out?

I was at the Expo around 1 p.m. Wednesday for Marathon Weekend and the lack of merchandise even then was insane. But I think that had more to do with them not being able to get the merchandise in than anything with their system. I would hope that they wouldn't let that happen again.

I would hold them to task for their consistent lack of larger sizes (i.e. L, XL, and 2XL) in women's sizes. Apparently, whoever does the ordering thinks that only XS and S women run these events - and we all know that that is NOT true. But if you look at what is left over, those are the sizes time after time.

THIS has a chance of solving some of the problems! I would be willing to pay a "convenience fee" to be able to pre-order merchandise (that I can actually see in advance rather than blindly ordering during race registration) in the few weeks before the race. That fee could then be used to pay for the staff time to package everything up.

Oh, and consistent sizing between items and across race weekends would be helpful. (I know, I know, now I'm asking for the sun, moon and stars)

Pre orders would be nice. Let the runners pre select merchandise. Take some stress away.
Unfortunately it looks like pre orders are being replaced by Gold tier Club RunDisney members getting early entry along with Platinum as of Wine & Dine more than likely

Nonetheless, even if I'm Gold or Platinum tier Club runDisney I'm still in the same boat if I can't get there before Saturday because my kids are in school and I have to work!

Isn't that the kicker? Buying into Club runDisney just makes it all the more important to (spend MORE money by staying at Disney to) get to the expo on opening day.

Weather watch for those getting ready to start the packing process As of now looks like another wet weekend looks like only princess was spared from precipitation this season

That's very easy to say, but let me play devil's advocate:

1. The resellers will just buy the cheapest bid (the 5K) and prevent people who actually want to run the race from registering
2. I have a friend/supporter that travels with me to the races. Sometimes she also does the 5K with me, but sometimes not (particularly if I am only doing a 10K/half challenge). This would mean that she couldn't wait in line with me (I think for Princess 2020 we waited over an hour just to get in the merch area). What am I going to tell her? Go wait somewhere while I do this. That's not especially friendly. What about people who have kids/are traveling with their family?

There are ways that Disney could help the situation if they wanted to, but my personal opinion is that restricting access to just runners is probably not the answer.
Also, people have looked at it, and some of the biggest resellers on Ebay are runners.

Does anyone know what the runners shirts look like? I'm out of practice (and possible touch) as it's been a minute since I've "runDisney"!:rotfl2:So I'm sure I've missed someone posting them or at least where to find pics of them.

Won’t be released till next week
The finish shirt purchasable for the challenge is pink

They typically don't release the shirts that come with registration until the day before the expo starts.

I haven't been super active on the boards lately, but I'm running the 10m this weekend! I haven't really trained specifically, but I ran a trail marathon two weeks ago (really need to type up that race report- like always, my plan from @DopeyBadger got me through). Hoping to just coast through on my residual fitness and have fun. Running with a friend. We get in on separate flights on Friday and leave Sunday. Staying at an All Star. Planning to do both the Expo and HS on Saturday before the race, so it'll be busy. We have a rental car, so hoping that saves time. Probably Universal after the race but before flying out on Sunday.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but i can't remember. . . Is it really okay to bring my luggage to the expo? I'll be coming straight from the airport in a Lyft. I also figure I'll need to take a Lyft to my resort, since I'm assuming we can't bring luggage on the resort/expo busses.

Thanks in advance!
