We have never done JTA, but my daughters may want to do it this time.

I know that lines used to be long for sign up and you had to sign up early, but more recently, with the new changes, I think I remember reading that it is not as difficult any more.

Do we still have to get to HS first thing and line up to sign up? Or can we wait until 11 am or so to sign up?

If we do get there at park opening, about how long can we expect to stand in the sign-up line?

Thanks!

the important question is when are you coming?
If you come now, slower season you might be ok showing up at 11am but in higher crowd level season it's better to be here at rope drop

Coming next week. But expecting large crowds. School is out in Georgia and I personally know many families who are coming. Hours have been extended and probably lots of folks there.

We used a Hollywood and vine ppo breakfast this week for jta sign up... supposedly a slow time, but I knew my kids REALLY wanted to do it, rather than "might" want to. Got the first show which worked with my plans. I'm no help with the later sign up, but I can say that each time we saw the show it was full. Good luck!

Can you walk me through the sign up process when you have PPO? This is what we have too. I envision entering the park around 745, going past H&V to the sign up station near Indiana Jones. Signing kids up (how long does this take?) then heading back to check in at H&V. Am I close at all?

We are going to have our 12 year old daughter do this when we are there early December. My concern is that I will schedule our FPs and then the time slot we get will be during that time! o_O

Always a risk! I guess you have to decide what's most important. Hard to do at WDW with so many great things to do!

Dd told me they've been completely booked by 10 every day for two weeks! She said to get there as quickly as possible!
Do my grandkids need to be with me for the sign up or can I go by myself?

The Disney site says everyone who wishes to participate must be present. That makes things more difficult on us. I don't mind waiting to sign up, but my kids are not going to want to do that. I wish we could sign up our kids without having to have them with us.

Thanks! Any idea how long we will have to wait in line? I have seen the line for this first thing in the morning and it is ugly. We like to get in two or three ToT rides before there is a wait and I am afraid we will miss that.

It is a shame we have to miss some of the best low line ride time to wait in line for this. Wish there were a way to sign up online and not waste park time.

I hear that the CM will ask the kids questions at sign up, like can you follow instructions, etc so that's probably why they have to be there. I think they also ask them their age.

You should be able to ask for a later time slot if you have a conflict. With shows basically every hr., you shouldn't have a problem if you are there early to sign up. It's been a few yrs., but when DD did it, we had a FP and Sci-Fi ADR, so asked for a later time in the afternoon.

We have done this several times with my two kiddos. Looking forward to it again in November. In my experience, you will want to rope drop and walk right to the sign up. It has always been very busy. It will take you about 20 minutes, give or take, in the line to sign up. Kinda depends on your day of course and also how far back you are in the line. Also when they give you a time, which they will give you the next available, you can say if you would prefer a later time than that because something conflicts. They just fill the slots in order, but you can have input if the time doesn't work for you.
Yes, your kids HAVE to be there with you. Not an option not to be. They do ask them a few questions as they do not want kids out there in the show that can't follow directions. The sacrifice of not getting to a ride directly at rope drop is part of the sacrifice you're willing to make in order to be able to have the experience of doing the Jedi training. You have to think of it that way! Just fastpass whatever you would have ridden at rope drop. Before Jedi training existed, we would go directly to Toy Story. Now we just fastpass it instead. No, we don't get to ride it multiple times like we use to, but the Jedi training is worth it. If your kids love Star Wars it will be worth it.

I would like a walk through as well! We are going to be there Thanksgiving week.

Sign-ups begin at park opening, so you will go to breakfast and then head to the sign-up station after you leave H&V.

I thought they changed it recently and have been allowing people to sign up when they came in for their PPO breakfast?
