Booking your next cruise while on a cruise deposit question

when you book another cruise while on your current cruise is the deposit for the cruise put on your credit card or can it be charged to your room account? How much is the deposit usually ie 10%, 20% ?

I honestly don't remember, but it would have been the same card regardless.

When doing an on board booking (with the 10% discount) it is a 10% deposit for cruises of 7 nts or more, 20% deposit for a shorter cruise. If you are just booking a 'placeholder', that is a $250 deposit--when you actually book a cruise with that placeholder you will pay more deposit to get up to the 10 or 20% that is needed.

In March, they let us charge the $250 deposit for the placeholder to a credit card different than the one on the on board account.

It will be a separate charge. They do not charge it to your stateroom account.

They've always charged the card, not the room. It can be the same card, but doesn't have to be.
