Hopefully it will stay cl and become cheaper or free because no one will pay for it.... and hopefully because there is not enough FPP to pull out of regular circulation....
And my purchase price divided out over the length of the contract, per point comes to an extra 1.75 per point. However, if I sell them, this goes away, as does some of the maintenance fees, since the contracts are now selling for twice what I paid........smiley face. lol.
Oh I agree that's why I said "But yea" I paid effectively $68 / point for AKV. for 40 years, so about the same.
I mean, I agree that I wish this would be unpopular, and stay CL, but I don't see that happening. I vehemently believe this is just the soft introduction of pay to play FPs at WDW. Something people who were critical of FP+ saw coming a couple years ago, and people who were more supportive of it said wouldn't happen, I was involved in these conversations elsewhere, and the "Disney Do no Wrong" crew was adamant would never happen.
Now, some people can genuinely like this, and that's totally cool. People are all entitled to their opinions and their desired vacation styles, prices etc.
But I really encourage people to think long term on this, and how it will effect them. I am seeing lots of "Well this wont really effect me, I just wont pay for that" or "As long as I get my 3 Free FP" Despite not realizing the FPs all have to come from the same finite pool of available "rides" (as in number of times people can ride a ride per day), meaning for every extra FP+ booked, that means someone else isn't getting an FP, or someone is getting booted from Standby. A lot of other people are saying "well there aren't that many CL people" or "Not everyone in CL is going to pay for this", which is relatively true (though there are plenty of CL guests, and the first point still applies, they will be bumping other people, just not too many people I guess) ... but its not going to stay CL (though like you I wish it would) and if it doesn't stay CL well, then the whole ball game changes. 60 day FPs become second rate (if this doesn't make them that already), if you want a highly demanded FP, you are going to have to pay for it.
It doesn't have to be like that, Disney and other companies have changed their policies, their offerings many times, if their customers demand it.
