You can still book a WDW resort stay via DCL on the front or back of your trip. Imo it's better to book it separately, as you can get a resort discount booking it on your own, but not via DCL. Or use a travel agent who can offer discount rates on the resorts. It's not complicated to make a reservation for a resort.
I know. That trip was a special trip for us and everything worked like clockwork. It was the start of us traveling to Disney as a couple and a great trip. Some of that was with the logistics of having everything booked at once. I'm piecing our current trip together and it's stressful and not as much fun as being able to say "its booked" -in all fairness we are doing some outside of Disney things, so this doesn't come as a shock, but not as easy as saying it is booked.. No, not hard to book at the resort, just other pieces to juggle.
