"Does Peter have to come to Disney with Us???"

So, Pam.....Have you named your new pretrip report yet? Have you made your ressies yet?? Do tell! I still want to read along as you plan!!! :goodvibes

Well, as you may or may not know, I’ve been working on the wedding dress I purchased from ebay for about a month now. It’s a size 14 and when I bought it I figured I would be down to that with my lap band surgery. I didn’t get that far down, but I was able to add material so that it did fit, but I didn’t like the way it fit up in the bustline area. It just wasn’t “right”. But I had already paid $50 for it and I really couldn’t justify paying out more money for another dress. This was really starting to stress me out!!! Ok, so Saturday morning Peter, Victoria and I went down to the mall. They dropped me off at David’s Bridal and then they went to the Mall itself. So, I walk in there and started looking at my size, I was thinking 22 or 24. I found one I absolutely fell in love with that looked a lot like the one I saw online at David’s Bridal outlet for $49, (which of course was all sold out!!) except this one was $499!!! Yeah, there’s an extra 9 on that!!! I was about to give up all hope as I was not going to pay more than $99 for my dress. I went for the $99 sale and that’s what I was going to do or end up with nothing!!! So, I was walking out the door just about in tears when a nice lady named Teal asked me how I was doing…….I stated “I’m too fat to be a bride”….well that got the attention of not only Teal, but of two other sales people as well who all started to fawn over me and told me to sit down and we were going to find something. They explained that there was financing, layaway, etc and that we were going to find a dress that will do. I found another one that was a size 20 and I told them it wouldn’t fit, but they wanted me to try on that one as well as the one I fell in love with which was $499. I ended up with sales person Megan who was so sweet! I tried on the one I loved and actually, it didn’t fit well. First of all, it was a 22 and was a bit too loose. Since it was gathered at the ****s, it also made me look HUGE on top. I mean, I have ****s, but I’m no Pamela Anderson!!! I then tried on the size 20. OMG!!! It fit like a glove. Of course Megan got me one of those corset-like strapless bras and a petticoat. It was weird being “dressed” but also kind of cool being waited on. I put the dress on…..well, the first part of the dress which is a simple A line type dress with spaghetti straps. Ok, that wasn’t bad….but then I put on the “jacket” which is all lace and buttons up right at the breast. OMG!!! That just made the dress. It looked amazing and for the first time in a very long time I didn’t feel fat. I stepped up on that pedestal thing they have and looked in the mirror…..I said out loud “I feel like a princess”. I absolutely loved it!!! And you know what the best part about it was………original price tag $649……..ON SALE FOR $99!!!!! Oh yeah, baby!!!!

Awwww, look at that bride! Love it!

And I just started my PTR up this morning. I couldn't wait any longer! It's right in my signature. I named it "plunging elevators, runaway trains and speeding cars....bring it on!" I named it that for my girls who cannot wait to go on all these thrill rides. It's just so funny to me that I feel like we were just in kiddie land at a carnival and now they can't wait to go to Disney for the thrill rides!

Awweeee, thank you all for your nice compliments. I am soooo much less stressed now that the dress is bought!

Hi all!!! It's been a week since I've posted. I guess I needed time to heal from the disappointment of Janine cancelling her trip. :lmao:

I have 37 days until the wedding. Wow....the time is sure flying! I'm borrowing my Mom's cake server and knife for the reception, so I still have to buy some ribbon and flowers to attach to them. I've finished up my flip flops but still have to secure the flowers on them with some hot glue. I've also got to wash the toasting glasses and centerpiece vases and attach the ribbon to those. Not too bad for being 37 days out. Here is pics of my flip flops.

The RSVPs are still continuing to trickle in. As of today we have 61 people coming. I think that's really great as I don't want to go over 100 and I know there are people coming that haven't sent in their RSVPs yet. It's so cool to see all the Disney postcards coming back to me. Since we are registered on Disney's Honeymoon Registry I've been checking it daily and so far we have $65 on our gift card. I've already made the Thank You cards and have started to send them out for the early gifts. This Saturday I will have my Bachelorette party and I'll post pictures if I still have any readers out there who want to see them. ;) I don't know what festivities are planned, so I really don't know what's gonig to happen. I don't think there are any presents at this kind of party, but who knows.

Your flip-flops look great! You're getting so much accomplished. :thumbsup2

$65 on your gift card already! :woohoo:

I hope you have fun at your party and I can't wait to see pics. :goodvibes

Thanks, Hope........Slowly but surely it will all get done.....oh, and I loved your packing list so much that I printed it out and am going to go by that......hee hee...;)

Hi Ann! I haven't been on in so long! I love the flip flops, so cute! Glad everything is coming together. Although these posts are from about a month ago. I forgot the actual date of your wedding. But i'm sure you are very busy!

I've been on the Christmas shopping thread lately, i started my shopping and been having fun with that!

I can't believe Janine cancelled too. We just down right ditched you didn't we :headache:

So here I am one week out from my wedding and I'm sicker than a dog. Actually, I really don't think dogs get this sick!! It started Thursday night with fever, chills and a headache and it's gotten worse since then. I tried to go to work on Friday and lasted one half hour! I'm feeling a bit better today....I've had some mac and cheese (yeah, thanks to Karen's food porn!!) and I'm actually sitting up for a while. I really want to take a shower today, so that's a good sign, too. It's a nice sunny 70 degree day here. I also walked down to the mailbox for some fresh air. Peter is out there playing with a backhoe type machine that he rented. He's making a workshop for his many cars. He had to pull up quite a few stumps and he just loves doing stuff like that --- playing with equipment. :rotfl:I think he misses his farming days sometimes...

Ok, so Disney update.....I got Mickey Mail today with my itinerary, vouchers, luggage tags and photopass card. :cool1: Does anyone know if this is the acutal card? It seems pretty flimsy and I can't imagine it holding up for the 11 days we will be there. But, it did have the registration number and a weird little barcode type thing that I'm assuming the photographers scan. I would like to laminate it, but would that barcode thingy by scannable?? hmm....any input would be appreciated. I didn't get the Magical Express luggage tags, though, so I have an email into the TA asking about it.

My bachlorette party was a "PartyGirls" party which is basically a naughty toy, lotions, etc party. I was kind of embarrased as I don't use any of that stuff, but my friends had a good time seeing my blush. They made me a veil and glued "protection" packets on it....quite funny! Also I had a necklace and straws made out of male anatomy parts!! I'm really not sure if any of my pictures are really appropriate to post. I'll have to look and see if there are any. OMG!! And the cake that they had was of a male anatomy part! Unbelievable....can you imagine where you would get a cake mold like that?? :lmao:

Everything is done for the wedding.....just a matter of waiting until Friday to head down to the resort. We've been keeping an eye on the weather, but they really haven't reported anything for next Saturday yet. Hey, whatever the weather will be, will be.....I'm getting married to the most wonderful man in the world.....so even if I would have to get married in a hospital bed, it would still be the best day in the world!! :bride: I've talked to the dj, photographer, caterer.....I can't think of any detail I haven't gone over. I just wish my Dis Friends could be here with me!! But, I'll post lots of pictures, so you can enjoy it with me like that.... I can't believe the wedding is next Saturday!!! By this time, I will be married!!! Then Disney on that next Thursday!!! Wow!! How did I get here? I'm so lucky!

Well, Victoria started 7th grade on September 1st. She is now in the high school which I'm not really comfortable with, but she's a big girl now. They keep the jr high kids upstairs and seperate from the high school, but it's still nervewracking for me. We did go to an open house the night before where we met her teachers. That made me feel much better and Peter really likes being part of her life. Victoria did finish her reading assignment for the summer of 8 books and summaries, so that was good. She's has homework each night, but nothing that we haven't been able to handle. The first day of school they didn't know what bus to send her home on. I got so freaked out that I left work early. After 3 days and many emails later, she is finally all squared away on her bus. She's also decided to take hip hop class again. So, I've had to get her two more leotards and tights. Argg!!! She swore to me last June that she was not going to take dance again, but here we go. I don't really mind.....it's good for her. I just didn't need the surprise 2 weeks before the wedding!!! I ordered them on ebay, so it's all good!!

I applied for a new job with State government about 2 weeks ago. I'm not really looking to change jobs, but this one really interested me. I went for the interview and got a letter yesterday that since they only received limited applications, they are going to repost the position. Ain't that a slap in the face? It would have paid me $1.79 more per hour. So, there is still a chance I may have it, but to me, that letter sounded more like a rejection than hope.

OMG!!! one week from today!!! Can you all belive it?? Then Disney?? Wow...the year has gone by fast!!! :scared1:

I'm so glad you updated! I hope you get better soon, at least you are getting it all out of the way before the wedding and trip!!!

ONE WEEK!!!!!! :cool1:

Wow, lots going on at your house! I hope you feel better soon! I'm glad you have everything finished so you don't have to worry about that stuff while you're sick.

ONE WEEK!

Head Table Question......

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OMG!!! My wedding is this Saturday and the Disneymoon follows........I'm having a very casual beach wedding and wasn't planning on having a head table at the restaurant, nor am I having reserved seats. Now my mother is asking where she is going to sit........I don't know what to do. My wedding party is me, my husband and my 12 year old daughter and I was going to just have a small table for us. I know my Dis friends will have some opinions, so please....what do you all think???
