anyone interested in buying status? specifically Hyatt.
Is this one of those sketchy eBay status match/challenge kind of deals or a mattress run where you don’t actually have to stay in the hotel?

Follow up thought on Citi cards: I wonder if receiving the statement credit for an AA purchase could be a good indicator that the bonus is attached to your card. I just chatted with Citi to confirm the $250 statement credit is attached and am going to purchase the GC as soon as I get to work. Statement closes May 20, so hopefully I'll make the cutoff for that and see the credit.
this is how I confirmed.
We are 14-18 hours from all our family (and TX friends). We get constant visitors, especially in the summer, and I love it. I hope my fam and friends never stop wanting to visit us. It's a blessing to be able to host so many people and honestly, get to know people better than we ever would if they hadn't stayed with us. You will get used to it. When you live somewhere desirable, people want to experience it too and visit you. Take it as a compliment!
Hmmmm, my $100 credit just posted! I hope that means the miles will follow. It doesn't say Offer Credit or anything, but CR ADJ for Billing Inq. I will take it!
We have had this happen on two separate occasions & both times, the imposer was majorly miffed when told no. "But hotels are so expensive there!" Not my problem, and you're not going to guilt me into anything. My home is my sanctuary, and if I want you in it, I will invite you. If someone is shameless enough to invite themselves, I will in turn feel no shame about telling them no. If our relationship is affected by it, well, that's also on them. Not exactly a loss if someone drops you as a friend because you wouldn't do what they demanded. Not joking. I would never ask if I could stay at someone’s house. Especially if they haven’t moved in and gotten acclimated to a new place. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t stay even if someone offered without me asking. I would never impose on friends or relatives like that.
This is the message I got & I was approved the next day.I just applied for my first Citi AA Biz card and got a 7-10 days message. Is that most likely a denial like 7-10 is for Chase? I have never been denied for a card yet!
Do employee cards count as an AU? I can’t get one for my 16 year old and I don't want to hurt my husbands x/24 status.
Lol I thought you were saying it was brazen when I said they didn’t invite me on their cruise. I don’t mind too much about them asking because we will be 20 hours from any family and I know we’ll love seeing them. I was a little caught off guard at first but I think we just need to expect this to happen.

I have to say this hit home for me..... I've had a busy few months of travel, and a busy upcoming summer (not to the standards of this thread but to the "normals" out there) From last Dec thru this August the list will be Hawaii, Florida,NYC,Maine,Pennsylvania,Florida again, and St Louis....(and then FL again In December etc) and some people I know are starting to mutter about too much travel or being so rich I can go anywhere anytime.... I try not to blame them, since they don't understand that a trip to FL for me is equal to a weekend at the local casino for a concert for the average person I know....it just costs time, not much money!I believe they judge us for our travel -
Anyways this all mainly comes down to, stop judging us for our travel habits that you don't understand/don't really know about,
The only thing I won’t like is the cleaning before company comes. It’s not like we don’t clean our house but it’s a different kind of cleaning when you’re planning for company. Other than that, I think I’ll love family and friends coming to visit. My mind might change after the fact so I guess we’ll see how things goWe are 14-18 hours from all our family (and TX friends). My least fav part too! Over the years, I’ve also gotten a lot more relaxed about how clean the house has to be for guests and no one has said anything and they keep coming so they aren’t too turned off lol.The only thing I won’t like is the cleaning before company comes. I honestly don’t mind people asking to come stay with us. Maybe that’s just how my family is? I’ve stayed with my aunt too many times to count when we fly out for trips because she lives near the airport. She’s letting our car sit at her house the three weeks that we’re gone in Japan so we don’t have to pay for parking at the airport. I’ll just be happy to see family and friends. No one has asked to come stay for like a week. It’s mainly just people asking to stay for a night or two when they know they’ll be in the area.If they are family and you are reasonably close, you will probably love seeing them. I have a similar situation when I go to Disney. I have relatives with a (rental/vacation) house in Reunion. They know I go to Disney a couple of times a year. They want me to spend time with them when they are there. I've never slept in their home but I'm constantly invited.
My brother understands completely. (His daughter owns the home.) He says to me that he would prefer to be in the center of things at Disney when he comes, even just at a resort for the restaurants and the ability to stroll around. But that never happens for them now. Also this is an 8 bedroom vacation home, so they don't live there but use it for vacationing. I don't golf and swimming means dangling my feet in the water and sitting by the pool, so there is no added attraction other than spending time with family that I don't see often. The home is on the rental market when they are not there.
