I think CBD oil isn't entirely junk science, and it really does help some people. However, it is definitely "the thing" right now & people swear it does everything under the sun. The problem is that, because it's "natural," it doesn't require the usual safety testing. Anybody can produce & market it. I could start up MKTokyo's Medical Miracle Company tomorrow, sell you THC oil (which is illegal) instead of CBD oil, and nobody would find out (unless you get busted with it). Nobody knows how toxic it is. We could find out in 10-20 years that it does irreparable genetic/chromosomal harm. Studies have already found evidence of liver damage in CBD oil users, and the only CBD-derivative medication approved by the FDA specifically warns for potential liver damage. We could be heading toward a medical crisis with this largely unproven substance being used at the rate at which it is currently being used. So, you could not pay me to use it until extensive testing has been completed - even if I could acquire it, which I can't. Obviously, if you're using it for a pet or you're an elderly person/someone with a terminal condition, it doesn't really matter what it does over a period of 20 years.
