I love credit cards so much!

So Chase isn’t the only one delaying bonuses. Got Aviator Biz in August. AF posted 8/31, made a charge, paid balance 9/11. Nothing. :confused3
I just SMd them asking when my statement closes and when I might see my miles.

The Barclays miles post the day your statement closes regardless of whether you’ve paid on the card. I didn’t pay my one charge or my annual fee until the payment due date but already had my miles.

So quick research shows Texas outward—> East to Florida (yipee!) with 1 store in GA, westward—> Arizona, not very far north (OK/AL/MS).

I didn’t realize it was so south/southwest primarily.
Now I feel even luckier it’s only half a mile away!

I've been to the Whataburger in Georgia! Kids made me detour there on one of our driving trips south! (We lived in Texas for 4 years and went to WB too many times to count.)

Do we have any data points - does the CapOne Savor code Disney as "entertainment" by chance? It's 4% cash back on the one with the fee and 3% on the no fee version, which is pretty good.

You got me all excited to try a new burger place, but it is in Thomasville and 45 minutes from the interstate. I wonder why Thomasville and not somewhere in Atlanta???

We love trying burger places and have to eat in InO everytime we are out west and then Burgerville in Portland (especially when they have the Walla Walla Onion Rings!).

For my Amex plat airline credit, I selected SWA as my airline. Now I can go buy a GC from their website, correct? And that will trigger the airline credit?

What about Uber? The Amex plat site says 'enrollment required'. Do they just mean I have to sign up with Uber or do I need to do something through the Amex site?

Same question for Saks though I'm not sure what I will do with that. I don't think I've ever stepped foot in that store!

Yes. Some DPs I’ve read suggest waiting 48 hours after selecting the airline to purchase your e gift cards. Rule of thumb is to purchase the e gift cards in $100 increments.

Add the Amex card to your payment options in your Uber app and the credit should populate each month.

You have to enroll for the Saks credit here

https://global.americanexpress.com/card-benefits/detail/shop-saks/platinum

@wendow, for SW, you can do the full $200 on one e-gift card transaction here: https://www.southwest.com/gift-card/create-card.html You should see the airline fee reimbursement on your statement 2-3 days later. (On the Hilton Aspire, if you ever get that, you can buy the full $250 in one transaction.) For latest DPs: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ame...ursement-reports-wn-fl-southwest-only-85.html

For Delta, buy $50 denominations in separate transactions. For AA, buy $100 denominations in separate transactions.

Out of caution, like @calypso726 suggested, wait 48 hours after selecting your airline, but there are DPs of the credit working much sooner.

Enroll for the Sak’s credit. Amex doles out the $50 credit twice a year, once between January-June, and again between July-December, use them of lose them.

Although terms exclude gift cards, DPs say Saks gift cards trigger the credit online and in store. However, the lowest gift card denomination online is $150; but you can walking into a store and buy a $50 gift card. Some people do this to resell the Saks gift card, which usually fetches 80-85% of face value, or will use it at Saks Off Fifth, where prices are a little more reasonable. Some people have used the credit for a shirt, or tie, or makeup (which prices usually aren’t inflated).

Since you have 6 months to spend the $50 credit, and nothing to buy, you could wait to see if your Plat gets targeted for one of those spend $xxx get $xx back at Saks Amex Offers to stack with the Plat’s Saks credit. (I’ve been waiting for one of these, but no luck with the most recent Saks offer.) See https://frequentmiler.boardingarea....bership-rewards-stacks-with-platinum-benefit/

I have no idea and did not believe it was a real Whataburger until we got there.

I'm still trying to get to Shake Shack because - again - daughter loved their burgers and has me convinced I will also. Amex had an offer a while back and I missed it because at the time I didn't know we had one. The Shake Shack here is in the MGM Casino and no one wants to go to the Casino just to eat a burger and I don't want to go and do Casino things, so I'll have to go on my own.

Applied for the CIU on Sunday morning. Still getting the 30 days message too.

My wife has been approved for the CIU! 50,000 URs, here we come!

This is her second Chase biz card.

My wife’s one year with the CIP is up this month, and we’ll be canceling her CIP to avoid the second year AF. She’ll be really glad about that. We barely put any charges on the second CIP anyway, and we’ve moved her recurring phone bill onto my CIP.

The CIU should be a good fit for her because she hates having to carry multiple cards and remembering which best to use to maximize the bonus categories on each. The CIU is a straight and easy 1.5x UR on everything. I think I can probably convince her to keep just 3 credit cards in her everyday wallet: the CSR for 3x dining and travel, the CIU for 1.5x on everything else, and the occasional new card for MSR.

I’m thinking now that if I can space it right, we should try to get my wife the CIC in a few months if the signup bonus is still good.
Hoping for good news for @KSR0330 and @Natgridenergy, too!

Assuming it works the same at the PRG, I selected SWA and then purchased the gift card about 5 minutes later. Had the credit 2 days after the purchase posted. I would have waited the 48 hours had I known, but I'm glad it worked for me.

Big congrats to your wife!!

There’s also one at The Mall in Columbia. I took DS in there for fries one day after we had PF Chang’s and he was still hungry. I think he prefers the fries at Five Guys though. There’s also the Bobby Flay burger place at the Arundel Mills casino. Their burgers and fries were pretty good but pricey.

Received an email from Wells Fargo confirming $70 earned from the 50% bonus cash back offer from Office Depot. I really had my doubts that they would pay out. I forget about the Earn More Mall offers unless they happen to send me and email highlighting them. Took advantage of a couple of very small offers in the past that never paid out. Wasn’t worth the trouble to follow up.

Tried to use the 50% offer at KMart but was told they only accept cash as payment for gift cards.

Now I want a burger for breakfast...

We almost never eat fast food, but a Shake Shack just opened up near us, so we went a few weeks ago. Shakes were good, burgers were decent, but my DD had a chicken sandwich that was fantastic! I like the burgers at Five Guys. We have a couple of upscale burger places near us that we are more likely to go to if we are eating out (which we try not to do too often). I'm not a big fan of McDs or BK, in a pinch I'll pick Wendy's, if I can.

Now I want a burger and a frosty for breakfast.

To me my best use of points so far was booking a 2 bedroom at Wyndom Bonnet Creek 12/19 to 12/24 using about 85,000 UR s...so I’m thinking my $95 annual fee got 5 nights there...

I like this way of thinking!

Yes but many people here have had success. I bought GCs at Home Depot and Walgreens and got the pending notification last night. Also bought a $200 Visa GC at Staples and have the cash back already.

@Oscar Madison - most seem to be having success with gift cards. Also, most gift card exclusions are usually cash equivalents, but seems it also worked for @CyndiLouWho .

Great! That's an easy deal for me as daughter lives nearer to there. (Columbia). We can go and take the babies as opposed to the casino one.
I've eaten at Bobby Flay's in College Park near Univ of Maryland. It was good and we enjoyed it, but there was a huge amount of food.

And I also like the FG's fries - they remind me most of Thrashers in OC.
