Just found your TR, I love it so far! I can't wait to hear about the different ports in Canada! I live in NYC, and I'm taking my first Disney cruise in 27 days on the Dream, a 3-night Bahamas cruise. I want to purchase the voucher for hopefully a Fall 2019 cruise out of NYC! I can't wait for those itineraries to come out!

That trip happened before the DVC purchase so until then he wasn't worthy, hahahaha :rotfl2:

    Thank you and welcome!!
OMG these cruises are so awesome, leaving from your own port. So easy!!! It really is great. Loved this itinerary, the weather was (almost) perfect. You'll have a great time on the Dream, but you will probably know that you'd want a longer cruise after!
    Have a magical cruise!!!

Sorry I have been neglecting this Trip Report. As you can see I'm writing 3 TRs right now and making my way through them all slowly. I'm also currently on a 2-week long trip to Singapore for my cousin's wedding! It's a little rainy here today so as we wait for our check out time before we move hotels, I decided to finish up this post!

Day 3 MARVEL Day at Sea Part 3: Costumes and Clubs

At around 1pm we reminded Steve's mom that she had a facial and massage appt at the Senses Spa (which was her birthday present from a few weeks ago) so she happily went off to that, Steve's Aunt went exploring with her selfie stick and Steve's dad went to nap in their stateroom. Steve and I went down to the Atrium for the first costume celebration of the day (there was another one later in the day too). While we were waiting we met someone with a really awesome costume. He was THE Avenger and his costume had elements from all the different Avengers' characters. It was really cool! We complimented each other on our costumes and got a picture. That must have been a lot of stuff to pack (he had both Mjolnir and Cap's Shield, and a bow and arrow set!

The Costume Celebration was held in the Atrium at the stage outside of Lumieres. The hosts were bubbly and fun and they brought up groups of people wearing costumes. So there were the "Agents" those with "Mystical Powers" some "Galactic Protectors" "Patriotic Heroes" etc.

    Agents of SHIELD

THE Avenger striking a pose. Now that's a lot of stuff to pack!

Guardians of the Galaxy Gamora and Star-lord. Oh and Stan Lee!

Here we have a couple of sorcerers:

The Doctors Strange. I like how the one on the left is just wearing scrubs, it's perfect!

A very lovely Agent Carter. This was my other costume choice. :)

And of course you can't forget the villains...and I was the only villain in the atrium at that time. So the hosts were like:

Hosts: "You!" (points at me in the crowd)
    Me: "Who me?"
Hosts: "Yes Loki, come up here!!"

So I went up on stage and they must have been impressed with the whole boss-cape thing that the male host asked me to twirl around for a bit to admire the cape.

    [IMG] [IMG]

I was asked by the hosts why I chose Loki and I said he was "Fun but still a little devious."
They were also intrigued by the Scepter necklace I was sporting and told everyone if you look closely you can see Loki's scepter around my neck.

    [IMG] [IMG]

Then they said to strike a pose like Loki, and I was at a loss, because its not like I have been practicing Loki poses so I struck a pose that more resembled Elsa and her ice powers. Sigh. At least they are all kinda related to Norse mythology....:rotfl:

The cold never bothered Loki anyway.

And finally they brought up those with "Spidey Senses" and that of course included Steve. I also enjoyed seeing a Spider-Gwen up there.

The best part of the show was when they introduced the characters dressed up as their favorite superhero. So cute!

They came down the stairs, did a little dance and for about 15 minutes at the end we were able to meet and take pictures with them!

Of course I made a beeline for Loki Dale.

Look how disappointed Thor Chip is!! "Noooooooooo!" :rotfl:

Loki Dale kept patting the fur on the cape. Probably to make sure it was not chipmunk!!

Thor Chip was finally coerced into a picture with us Lokis, he looks very taken aback!

And finally a picture with all of us!

Here we are with Black Widow Daisy and Donald Hulk!

Unfortunately that was all we could get during that short amount of time as everyone was just crowding around the characters but don't worry...they come back out later on in the cruise!

Since we had done so much already and there was kinda a lull in the day at that point, we decided to change out of our costumes and head to the Rainforest Room for a bit. First off we decided to go to the gym because I wanted to not feel like all I was doing was eating.

So when you go to the gym on Marvel Day at Sea it is necessary you wear Marvel workout gear.

    [IMG] [IMG]

We had a nice relaxing time in the Rainforest Room and I also showered in the locker rooms there too.
We noticed the Marvel bed runner when we returned to the stateroom. It is yours to keep too!

We went to Deck 9 to find something to eat and saw they had some special Marvel themed food.

The Coney Island looked like a chili dog and the Mark XLIV was a special burger with cheese on a red-colored bun. We ended up trying the Mark XLIV as well as getting a lamb shwarma.

The burger was pretty good, the cheese was kinda like a pimento cheese and although it wasn't really "melty" it was tasty.

Here was our yummy lamb shwarma:

I like how they had the Marvel wax paper for that day!

Even the Fixin's bar had the superhero themed labels.

We also had fun attending the open houses for the Oceaneer Club, Edge, and Vibe clubs as well. It's cool seeing these spaces for all the different age groups, and loved how the Oceaneer club had the Marvel Avengers Academy.

Steve was trying to club like a Spider, lol.

Coming up...a Marvel-ously themed meal, and a Superhero Celebration!

Love it! I think this is the biggest thing missing from SWDAS. I would have loved to see them dressed as star wars characters.

The Marvel Super Hero Day at Sea looks awesome! I could see how that is something they could just do a few things and call it good, but they really seemed to go above and behind to make everything great! I mean the bed runner is awesome and even changing up the food, those are all nice touches. Can't wait to hear the next installment!

This is so cool and creative! I like it!

Bahah! They're kinda of similar though I think, so that's fair. Elsa's pretty secretive and kinda tricky.

This is the best thing!! And I'm excited to know that Mickey and I are both Captain America fans :)

    :rotfl2:

    I love Hulk Donald! :hyper:

Just got completely caught up on your TR. What an amazing trip so far! Loved your costumes and love all the great pics you include in your reporting. I'm going to jump over to read your trippie from your SWDAS on the Fantasy as we're cruising on her for the first time next month-and for Star Wars Day at Sea!:banana:Can't wait to hear more about this one too and thanks so much for taking the time to write these!

LOKI DALE IS THE CUTEST THING I'VE EVER SEEN!

The characters used to dress up in Star Wars characters during Star Wars Weekends, but they stopped doing that once the new movies started coming out! :(

Also Su-Lynn, I saw you at Galactic Nights but was too shy/sick to say hello. I was sitting next to you doing the fireworks. :rotfl2:

Hello again! I stumbled upon this because I'm having DCL blues (even though I'm cruising to Alaska in June, but not on DCL) so I needed a pick-me-up and I've always read your reports. Photobucket nonsense ruined mine so I never finished it from March! Love this so far!

Wow! Looks like a lot of guests really got into it - so fun! I wouldn’t have been able to guess half the superheroes Mickey & the gang were dressed as so thanks for describing. So cool that they did that! I am very impressed you went to the gym!! You are good!! The various kid areas look so fun!!
