Mail Order Food Gift Ideas

Being from Alaska we have had to get creative with gifts for out-of-state family. We have tried:
Omaha Steaks
Harry and David
Wild Berry http://www.alaskawildberryproducts.com/
Wolfermans
and Jones Soda http://www.jonessoda.com/

The one I liked best was Jones Soda. You can custom create your own label by uploading a picture for the soda, and pick from their wild & crazy to somewhat normal flavors. And they ship right to your recipient.

I think the better received gifts was from Wildberry, because it was Alaskan

Wolfermans also looked real good, but it was hard to decide between all the flavors and ended up ordering more than I would have originally.

Harry 7 David and Omaha Steaks are OK, but for us a little overdone.

Another vote for Stonewall Kitchen! They make quality products that are really, really yummy! Last year during the holiday season, they ran specials online every day (or every couple of days) that were a bargain, as well as having decent clearance offers. My family is from York, where Stonewall is located, but my sister lives in New Orleans. Last year I was able to ship her a big box of "tastes from home" for about half-price by shopping the clearance section on Stonewall. They will also gift-box/wrap anything they sell.

I send food gifts to my out-of-state family every year and love www.zingermans.com (I am in Michigan and they are local for me). I also love igourmet.com for cheeses.

Wouldn't be fresh obviously but check out Cherry Republic.

Cherry republic is the first thing I thought of when I saw this post!!! I LOVE the cherry nut mix and the chocolate covered dried cherries. I don't know what they do or don't do to their nuts, but they are SO good!!!

I order food for friends and family a lot. For gifts, expression of sympathy, holidays, etc. I've sent and received many things from Wolferman's. They are excellent. They have English muffins, breads, candy, fruits...so many things but they are especially popular for their breads. Also love, love Delicious Orchards. They are located in NJ and have wonderful fruit baskets and their donuts are out of this world. Used to live in NJ and this place was always packed. Another steak company is Kansas City Steaks. Have you ever watched QVC? They have food shows on and right now many food shows are on due to the upcoming holidays. You can even go to QVC.com I've ordered from them many times....many, many choices and shipping is free. They have lobster gram, crab cakes, Cheryl's cookies, French pastries...the list goes on and on.

Here are a few that I use.

Loveless Café Which is great if the recipient has diabetes and can't have the desserts you typically find at most gift basket companies.

Cracker Barrel

Langs Sun Country - When you go to Disney you need to take a trip to Langs. Its not far from WDW. They have an amazing café which is family run. A nice gift shop and of course fresh oranges/citrus and OJ.

Katz's Deli Combo via Newyorkfirst.com: 2 pounds of either corned beef or pastrami (sliced), loaf of seedless rye, 1 pound deli mustard, 2 half sour pickles.

Crabcakes from Crabcakeexpress.com. Shipped refrigerated, not frozen. Great crab cakes.

Im so glad to find this!

Two that I didnt see mentioned... Sharis Berries, we've received these and they were good! Baked by Melissa, tiny cupcakes! A friend just received these and loved them.

We did Harry and Davids fruit of the month for my parents, they enjoyed it!

I just did a free cookie sampler from Cheryls Cookies to my DS at college, he loved it!

Im looking forward to trying some of these!

I second Oscar's Smokehouse. DH and I stopped in on a trip home from Lake George, NY in September and I was very sorry I did not have a cooler so I could load up on all of their delicious looking meats. We did leave with some yummy beef jerky and other assorted items.

We order boxes of a variety of orange that we taste tested while on a visit to central Florida a couple of years ago: Page oranges.

SO sweet and delicious they will spoil you for any other orange.
We only buy from a local grower- a family who has been growing oranges since 1966- a real family farm that delivers excellence in their product. :thumbsup2
Their family reputation is on the line so they deliver top quality citrus consistently.

Another vote for Cheryl's cookies their buttercream frosted cookies are awesome! They even have a cookie club where you get a shipment for every holiday (Halloween, Christmas, Easter, valentines day, etc.)

Another vote for Cheryl's. I use them all the time and everyone loves them.

I've got a favorite that I send to all the men in my life, and they just LOVE it.

Pig of the Month BBQ -- pigofthemonth.com

Best ribs anywhere, hands down. They also have really good jerky, and all sorts of flavors of sausages and bacon that change all the time. Really easy to work with too

Highly rec!

I use Wolfermans a lot. I place my order on Black Friday and select a date closer to Christmas for shipping. The past few years, they have offered free shipping on BF, hopefully they will do the same this year.
I order a 4 pack variety (you get to chose the flavors) and add a spread.
It has always been a hit.
