Hi Gang,
I am trying to catch up. I have not been around much lately, so I am very behind on all the action.
A couple of weeks ago my husband was rear-ended by an unlicenced, uninsured 14-year-old driver. He was bending down to answer a ringing cell phone. The police report says he was going between 35 and 45 when he hit my husband, who was stopped at a red light (the light had turned green, but the traffic had not started moving yet. My husband was third in line at the light).
Thankfully, my husband was not seriously hurt. He just has a little soreness still.
The airbags deployed. Since my car was not new the car was considered a "total loss." I was not happy. Since our last van payment is next month, we were going to be debt free except for the house.
We spent a couple of weeks trying to decide what to do. We were actually talking about attempting to be a one car family for about 6-months.
But in the end, we ending up falling in love with the Toyota Prius Hybrid.
I must be going through some sort of mid-life crisis, because I think the car is the coolest thing since sliced bread. I am hogging the car and not letting my husband drive it. I have NEVER been excited about a car before. They are just tools to get you places. I spend my drive into work trying to pump up my MPG (which is at 49.3).
