Nemesis Challenge:It's OK to Finish Next-To-Last, As Long As I Beat HIM/ Its Here!!!!

I guess it's not the worst place to die, but in the end you're still...you know...dead.

Your tombstone at Haunted Mansion:

Here lies Barry Sommer.
He ran and died- what a bummer.
He trained a whole lot more than most,
But now he serves as the new Ghost Host.:faint:

Sounds like a great run. Most runner's magazines and training plans have you running your training runs at 2 min per mile faster than your actual race pace. While it's your first half it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that adrenaline alone will help you drop a min per mile. Unless your stopping for princess pics my guess is you'll wind up finishing disney somewhere around 2:10 and probably a little faster.
:woohoo:Can't argue with math, can we?:thumbsup2
That's an awesome logo. I hope you find somewhere to get them printed.
Thanks! I think we found one that will do it!

Have the doctor give you enough shots to numb the pain through the marathon, then deal with the surgery. :rotfl:
Not too much medication, though. You probably don't want to be higher than a kite trying to take a picture with Mr. Smee and thinking it's Jasmine.

Right or wrong, we are judged by the company we keep. Being so, it was pretty easy for me to choose Team Tim.
He's a Yankee's fan. THAT'S the company you want to keep?

I mean, just look at your supporters!!!! :lmao:
CJ has friends. You don't want to meet CJ's friends.

Sorry, but once you are in the gang, there is no getting out.
::yes::

Order an extra large for me and a small for my daughter.
The ones I'm having printed are on technical running shirt-type magical material and are about $30. If you guys want some I can get them printed on a regular cotton shirt for much less. Tim and I also went all out and got "TEAM BARRY" and "TEAM TIM" on the backs!

Great time. You are going to murder him Rock.
I know. :thumbsup2

Beware during the full. The Dis Dad eating Cheetah might run up behind you and give you a Gibbs smack upside the head.
She's one of "CJ's Friends" that I spoke about earlier.

I stumbled across a new Disney running podcast called The Mickey Miles Podcast. Mike Scoppa is one of the hosts. Lots of info on running at Disney events.
I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

I went out and did 13.22 miles on Saturday morning. It took me 2 hours and 38 minutes which is about right. When I signed up I estimated at 2 hrs 45 min. In about the past month or so I decided that my goal would be 2 hrs 30 mins. This is certainly in range. There were a couple of times that I walked for 30 seconds or so just to get some oxygen flowing back through my lower legs but I think I can eliminate this and also push myself to go a little faster. I'm just hoping it's not too warm for the race.
Nice Job!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

With the adrenaline and other stuff going on race morning taking off 8 minutes is very doable. You might even take off more than that.

I just want to clarify that Ryan is talking about time, not clothes. Please, finish the race with the same clothes you started it with.

Tried to do 13 miles on 12/8. Could only do 11.14 though. I just got started too late and ran out of daylight. After Barry's near miss, I decided it would be better to just cut the run short than have to keep an eye out for the Ram 1500 of death that Tim has obviously sent out to pick us off one by one. So my 11.14 miles finished in about 122 minutes. It was plenty warm (mid to upper 60's) so I intentionally slowed down a bit.
Just Hulk Smash the hood like I did. :thumbsup2 <--hey look, the thumb guy is even green!

I thought of you on Saturday. I looked at my time, did the math and realized that I'd have to speed up to keep up with you. In fact, even after the castle photo when we start to split up, I'll be using you for my pace.
That puts a lot of pressure on me....and I don't respond well to pressure.

And bear that cross
But in this we trust
He still left Tim - In his dust

Total Time: 2:24:49, or 11:00 minutes per mile. I felt pretty good afterward - we ate at a Sonic drive in because Bambi didn't want me to offend anyone inside a restaurant with my smell. Luckily, it was nice enough out that we could sit in the van with the windows down.

Great Job Barry!!!!!

Looks like I will be finishing about an hour behind you. :lmao: I buckled down last week and finished 13.1 too. A few hills and some walking but I made it and did not die. With my short little legs you guys will leave me in the dust but I will finish and that's all I am really concerned about. :thumbsup2

Great job on the 13.1!!!!
I'm sadly on the injured list, too. I had to bail on my 24 miler two weekends ago. I did the 10 mile walk on Saturday and had severe foot pain 3 miles into my 24 milers on Sunday. I walked a total of 10 miles that day (running was too painful). The foot is improving but I'm still walking instead of running until it's 100%. I've done 8.5miles/21miles so as long as I'm not too injured I think I can finish. Not as fast as I'd like but the medals are the same... :thumbsup2

If that is true, how am I gonna run the first 6 miles with Barry? I'm gonna end up leaving him at mile 1. popcorn::

Ahh come on Tim. Based on your 10k I think you can do better than a 10mm pace. That being said don't kill yourself too much in the first part of the race. Hope your achilles has started behaving.
First part is gonna be easy & fun. Second 1/2 is gonna be fast and horrible. :lmao:

Achilles feels good.... ankle fells crappy.

Have the doctor give you enough shots to numb the pain through the marathon, then deal with the surgery. :rotfl:
Not a bad idea... except I can't see the doctor for 3 1/2 weeks. I called to set up an appointment and I couldn't be seen till the end of December. What good is that going to do me? Forget it... I'm running on it.

Seriously, heal up quickly. :thumbsup2
Thanks. I'm trying.

Right or wrong, we are judged by the company we keep. Being so, it was pretty easy for me to choose Team Tim.

You have chosen....... WISELY! :thumbsup2

Quit being a baby. Rub some dirt on it.
I thought it was rub some bacon on it?

Sorry, but once you are in the gang, there is no getting out.
You can't jump him out?

Beware during the full. The Dis Dad eating Cheetah might run up behind you and give you a Gibbs smack upside the head.
:lmao::lmao:

Either that or (in a Chicago voice) You might have an axe-a-dent. Who knows, you might fall into a pit full of vipers. Axe-a-dents happen."
Oh Snap. Looks like the Italians are at it again. popcorn::

Tim - how's your ankle? Any news from the Dr?
Tried to get an appointment but couldn't get one for 3 1/2 weeks. I told them forget it. I'm running no matter what so what are they gonna do for me?

Nice job on the run!

It looks like this version passes muster. I submitted the order on Thursday night and as of this afternoon, their order tracking website has it as "In Production." So that's a good sign...
Still not holding my breath.

Wow. Smack talk from someone who's training has topped out at 7 miles. Talking doesn't get you to the finish line. Running does.
I'm gonna have to be talking to someone at the finish line... we know you won't be there at that time.

I hope it is 45-50 for the run. I'm getting used to running in the low 30's. I ran last week when it was over 50 and I was sweating my butt off. :crazy2:

Good job on the run. Bad job on the ankle. I've had some pain in my ankle but I believe it's ligament stuff. I've just been stretching a ton and didn't have any pain on my last run.
Who knows... mine could be a ligament problem. All I know is it hurts..... real bad.

Pain Killers. The good kind. But it might interfere with any plans to drink around the world for a day or 2.

Thanks! I think we found one that will do it!
Bravo!

Any word if it shipped yet?

Not too much medication, though. You probably don't want to be higher than a kite trying to take a picture with Mr. Smee and thinking it's Jasmine.
Ah, whatever. If I think it's Jasmine then it's Jasmine. Unless someone takes pictures and shows me later. :headache:

Central Connecticut is full of both Yankees and Sox fans. We get along and function together in everyday life. Yea we talk smack when the games are on but we do get along.

CJ has friends. You don't want to meet CJ's friends.
Yea, all those fish and coral that CJ hang around with are reaaaaaly scary. LOLOLOL

Awww CJ that was so cute. This has the same chance of coming true as Anastasia marrying the prince.

Congrats on finishing!!!!!! You will do it in January!!!!!! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We can't afford to add any more people to the injured list. Hope your foot feels better. :goodvibes

Leave him and don't look back. :thumbsup2
That is a possibility. I really want that group picture in MK though. :rolleyes2

Pain Killers. The good kind. But it might interfere with any plans to drink around the world for a day or 2.
Well, that never stopped me before. ;) :smokin: :hyper::hyper:

Excellent! Just remember Christopher Robin's words: "You're braver than you believe, stronger than you seem and smarter than you think."

Great job on the 13.1!!!!

Ouch. Hope you get better quick! Great point about the medals though!

If that is true, how am I gonna run the first 6 miles with Barry? I'm gonna end up leaving him at mile 1. popcorn::
It will only seem like you're leaving me at mile one when you get disoriented and start running backwards. I can imagine the cell phone call from Mel...

"Tim, be careful out there. I've heard reports that there is one running going the wrong way on the course."

"One runner? Heck, there's thousands of them!"

Not a bad idea... except I can't see the doctor for 3 1/2 weeks. I called to set up an appointment and I couldn't be seen till the end of December. What good is that going to do me? Forget it... I'm running on it.
I think you need a new doctor. Is this some kind of specialist?

Thanks for the info.... Thanks for the link. :headache:
I found it. It really wasn't that hard. :rolleyes1

I'm gonna have to be talking to someone at the finish line... we know you won't be there at that time.
It's true. I probably will have gotten bored hanging around for you to limp across the line and went to look for something to eat. Come find me at Beaches & Cream.

Pain Killers. The good kind. But it might interfere with any plans to drink around the world for a day or 2.
Nah, it will enhance it!

Any word if it shipped yet?
The site still says "In Production." :confused3

Ah, whatever. If I think it's Jasmine then it's Jasmine. Unless someone takes pictures and shows me later. :headache:
Oh, you can bet there will be pictures of that. And video. Heck, I need to see if I can get my hands on some 3D holographic imaging cameras before the race...

Yea, all those fish and coral that CJ hang around with are reaaaaaly scary. LOLOLOL
You ever see a sea turtle get angry? OK, neither have I, but I can imagine it's pretty gruesome.

If you are going to place an order for regular t-shirts I might want one too. Maybe Melody would want one? Probably not- she will be sleeping in on Saturday I'm sure. :rotfl2:
I already placed the order. And besides, who knows if they would let the design through again. I had to modify the design I submitted for CJ.
Bambi and the kids like the original logo with Perry and Doof on the see-saw so she's going to do the iron-on shirts. Let me know if you want a high res version of either logo.

Team Barry members don't even know your name. :badpc:
It's not that they don't know it, it's more like they don't dare speak it. It's sort of a Voledemort sort of thing.

A friend of mine did that once. We now call him Lefty.
