Rock On!! Because Devil Horns Do Belong at Disney. An Oct TR Updated 9/5 x10!

Funny looking at those pictures at DTD...especially since both of the Starbucks are now open.

We went on a weeknight and it was insane...it's the walls...it just makes it feel more crowded and people just push and shove. :headache:

Great purchases; but like someone else asked, how the heck did you get them all home?

Love the shopping pictures!!
I haven't spent a decent amount of time at DTD since Dec, which is probably a good thing! :rotfl2: I know I'll be spending a GOOD chunk of money at the new co-op, they've got some great dishes! And I can always justify dishes because it's something I'll actually use! Bahha

Can't wait til the construction is done though, eck, it's so messy and crowded over there now!

Wow you guys sure bought a lot! I LOVE DTD but I'm sure not looking forward to that construction. What a mess! I don't think we'll be spending much time there and I think I'm going to cancel my ADRs there.

The first place I stayed at WDW was POFQ (back with it was a completely seperate resort from POR). I liked it a lot but still not as much as CBR.

WOO HOOOOOOOOO Shopping!!! DTD looks just.... sad!

dislike!!!

Love all your stuff! especially your Nightmare Before Christmas pins!! :cool1: What Jim doesn't have the sear tower Lego?!?! tisk tisk...
What does he do with all the lego's he builds?!?

Of course LOVE FOOD PICTURES!

Holy Cow ! Can't wait to hear how you did get all that stuff home :lmao: The Pluto shirt, have it too but never wear it...c'mon Ariana we love him but he's a dog Need I say more ? He is not staring at your butt he is sniffing ...:rotfl: someone in designing had a great sense of humor with these shirts.

Well luckily I've gotten smart and make sure I have extra room to bring stuff home. The biggest problem was Jim's Legos but he just carried them on the plane as his second carry-on.

I don't know, Pluto sure does look like he's staring with that open mouthed expression!

So, you briefly skipped over/mentioned a new kiosk with pet stuff :confused3 where ? when did this open ? Do you have any idea what they carry? I still mourn the loss of Pet Tails..biggest epic fail on Disney's part to take that out. ( that and the loss of the kennels at each park, really stupid ) I have heard nothing although I don't think anyone could pay me to go down there not even for that new co-op store.

Well I wish I had more of an answer for you but we didn't get to see much of the store. I read briefly about it opening somewhere here on the DIS but I don't remember exactly what they carry. It's really just a little open air kiosk and if I'm remembering correctly it was over by the pin store and Fun Finds. It was all closed up when we were there probably because it was raining.

So many awesome purchases, love it all! The make your own pasta looks yum!

Thanks! The pasta was very good for a CS option.

Funny looking at those pictures at DTD...especially since both of the Starbucks are now open.

I'm sure it looks different everyday right now!

We went on a weeknight and it was insane...it's the walls...it just makes it feel more crowded and people just push and shove. :headache:

I know exactly what you mean. That's why we ended up going back to the resort for dinner. Someday I will try WPE but probably not while this construction is going on!

Great purchases; but like someone else asked, how the heck did you get them all home?

Pre-planning! I always leave extra room in my suitcase to bring stuff home. Simba was my biggest problem but he squished down nicely in the suitcase. Jim carries the Legos on the plane as one of his carry-ons.

Love the shopping pictures!!

I cannot wait to visit that new co-op! There is way too much stuff I want to buy from that store.

Can't wait til the construction is done though, eck, it's so messy and crowded over there now!

It definitely is which is why we chose not to eat dinner there.

It was definitely a mess. I'm sure it's changing every day so no idea how bad it is now. I've got a lunch ADR for DTD in December and I'm hoping it's somewhat better by then.

The first place I stayed at WDW was POFQ (back with it was a completely seperate resort from POR). I liked it a lot but still not as much as CBR.

I can't wait to try it. Funny thing is the first resort (that I remember clearly) for me was POR when it was still Dixie Landings. I know I stayed at other places before that but they were childhood trips and I really don't remember.

WOO HOOOOOOOOO Shopping!!! DTD looks just.... sad!

It is sad right now but I love the Disney Springs drawings I've seen so hopefully it will be even more wonderful when it's done. They really did need to expand as it gets super crowded in the evenings.

Love all your stuff! especially your Nightmare Before Christmas pins!! :cool1: What Jim doesn't have the sear tower Lego?!?! tisk tisk...
What does he do with all the lego's he builds?!?

Is there a Sears Tower one? I don't think I've seen that. I'll have to go and look for it cause I'm sure he would love it. Some of his legos he actually took to work and has them displayed there. In our house, as of right now his completed Legos are in our downstairs game room. There's a ledge that goes around the whole room and he's taken one wall for the Legos. Of course he's going to run out of room before too long. We do have a Foosball table that we no longer play (I'm lousy and Jim got bored with beating me) so we may get rid of that and get him a table for that spot.

Of course LOVE FOOD PICTURES!

Who doesn't love some good food porn? :rotfl:

Love the shopping!

Wow! Poor DTD. I hope it is worth it.

I think it will be worth it but it is definitely a mess right now.

Sunday, May 4th dawned bright and beautiful. Thank goodness the rain was finally over! We were up at 6:30 am and out the door at 8:05 am.

My original plan for this day was to be up super early and at the front of the line for rope drop because Jim wanted to see Anna and Elsa and I wasn’t able to get a FP+ for them. But after seeing videos of the craziness at rope drop we decided to just skip that meet and greet. Instead I researched and planned a route for the morning so we could get some other meet and greets in. I used Kenny the Pirates web site and APP and I can't say enough good things about it.

A bus was waiting for us when we got to the stop. It was pretty crowded but we ended up leaving the bus stop and going straight to MK. We got there at 8:30 which was plenty of time for the Welcome Show. The first picture I took of the day though was of the big ugly crane over at the Poly.

We ended up getting a great spot for the Welcome Show.

It wasn’t too crowded at that point but of course it kept filling in as 9 am drew nearer.

And then it was time for the show!

Here comes the train!

Of course the rest of my pictures tend to focus on a certain dog.

We headed in after the show and people were running like crazy to get to Fantasyland. Jim and I just strolled down Main Street watching all the madness. This picture really doesn’t show how insane it was.

There’s my favorite sight!

While everyone else was running through the castle, we took a right turn and headed to get in line for the Merida meet and greet. We were stopped on the bridge for a few minutes by some CMs with a rope so of course I took some more castle pictures. Such a beautiful day after the two previous rainy ones.

We ended up third in line for Merida’s greet which started at 9:15 am.

I don’t remember anything special about the Merida meet. She was very cute and I know Jim enjoyed meeting her.

Jim pin traded with a few of the CMs there and then we continued on around towards the teacups to the next meet we wanted to do. The characters we wanted to meet were actually riding the teacups at the time so I asked their handler where they would be meeting and we went and lined up with one other family. As we were waiting though, a grandma came up and pretty much shoved her granddaughter in line in front of us. I think Jim was going to say something but I just shook my head and we let her go first.

And then it was our turn. I know we had a conversation with Alice but I really don’t remember what it was about.

Smart idea not doing the dash to A&E!

Cute character pics! We plan on going to Merida first thing on one of our MK days, so I hope we can be close to the front of line like you guys were!

Ugh. You have more patience than I do. That is the one thing that drives me nuts at Disney...the rudeness and sense of entitlement. I find that as I get older it drives me even more nuts! :furious:

The Anna and Elsa dash is insane... just insane!!!!

Nice of Grammy to push her way in. :mic: What's wrong with people!!!! Goofs!!!!

Love the castle pictures!!! I am getting SOOOOOOOOOOO Excited for the upcoming trip!!!

Beautiful castle pictures on what looks like a stunning day weather wise. I am SO happy we had/have FP+ for Anna and Elsa. That running is insane.

Cute pictures with Merida.

What's with the pushy grandma? Seriously...there weren't 100 people in line lady!

I definitely think it was. Now of course my Mom wants to meet them so I will be up next week at midnight trying to get a FP+.

I don't think you will have any trouble now that A & E are so popular.

I'm not sure if it was patience or just not wanting to start something that early in the day. I'm not much for confrontations.

The Anna and Elsa dash is insane... just insane!!!!

Yep it was. Luckily they've changed it now to where the CMs lead everyone there with a rope.

Nice of Grammy to push her way in. :mic: What's wrong with people!!!! Goofs!!!!

I like to think she was just excited and didn't notice the line but who knows? She may have just thought her granddaughter should have gone before two adults. :confused3

Love the castle pictures!!! I am getting SOOOOOOOOOOO Excited for the upcoming trip!!!

I bet you are! I hope everything is still going smoothly, I haven't had a chance to visit your PTR for almost a month now. Darn work getting in the way!

Beautiful castle pictures on what looks like a stunning day weather wise. I am SO happy we had/have FP+ for Anna and Elsa. That running is insane.

Yep it was a beautiful day. I did get a tad warm later in the day but it was so much better than the rain. The A & E thing was crazy!

Cute pictures with Merida.

Thanks, she was cute to meet.

What's with the pushy grandma? Seriously...there weren't 100 people in line lady!

Like I said above I'd like to think she was just excited and didn't notice the line but I'm really not sure. I just didn't want a confrontation to start off our day so I didn't say anything.

After meeting Alice and the White Rabbit, we had about a half an hour till the next meet and greet. I wanted to ride Peter Pan but by the time we got there, it already had a 40 minute wait. And the Anna and Elsa meet you ask? Why the wait there was only 4 hours. Jim looked around when we were at Peter Pan and noticed that there was no line for IASW so he suggested we ride that. I’m honestly surprised I didn’t pass out from shock when he suggested that one. I think the wait time sign said 15 minutes but as you can see by this next picture, it was a walk on.

Kathy (and anyone else who hates IASW), you can skip down to the end now as the rest of the update is all pictures from the ride.

I got a pretty good although somewhat blurry picture of the hidden Mickey’s.

I think you did great with your leisurely M&G. Great pictures.

Love IaSW. But that melody could sure do with a re-do. :rotfl:

Hi everyone (well at least I hope there are still some people out there)! Sorry I've been away so long it's been a couple of crazy months at work.

I was also crazy busy after hours and on the weekends trying to help my local Animal Shelter with the 350 dogs they had to seize from a puppy mill. Considering they usually only have about 200 animals max to take care of, suddenly having over 500 was a huge burden. I'm happy to report though that the owner of the puppy mill decided to turn the animals over to the shelter after about a month of trying to fight the charges (I think when the charges went from a misdemeanor to 350+ charges of animal cruelty which is a felony was the deciding factor). I'm happy to report that we adopted out most of the animals in one day and they are now all spayed and neutered and in their forever homes. It was one of the craziest days in my life, I worked at the shelter from 6:30 am till 12:00 am (yep you read that right, over 17 hours). The ones that were not adopted that day were eventually adopted later that week.

Needless to say, I am so far behind on everyone else's threads that I'm a little overwhelmed and have no idea where to start to get caught up. I think it's going to take me at least a month but I will try to get there soon!

Any way, let's move on with this TR since I only have 39 days till my next trip and I really want to be finished with both of my current TRs before I leave.

IASW had wasted the time we needed to kill so we headed back into New Fantasyland for the next meet and greet I had on the schedule. We were still a few minutes early and I spotted a PP Photographer standing by the fountain. I asked him if he would take our picture. He said he was waiting for Gaston to come out but was very willing to take some photos.

I then asked him exactly where we needed to line up to meet Gaston and he directed us towards the side of Bonjour gifts. There was only one group in front of us, a mother and daughter pair, both adults. We chatted with them while we waited and then all of a sudden somebody put their arms around me from behind. It was Gaston and I’m really glad I didn’t react badly and punch him or something! I think I was a little too startled at the time to lash out but it could have been bad under different circumstances. We watched the mom and daughter have fun with Gaston and then it was our turn.

Of course Gaston paid all kinds of attention to me and totally ignored Jim at first.

Then he turned to Jim and asked if Jim was there to admire him or challenge him.

Jim replied “both” and then this happened.

Gaston took Jim over by his tavern and challenged him to an arm wrestling match on top of a garbage can! At this point I was laughing so hard I was almost crying. They “wrestled” for a bit and I put that in quotes because I don’t think either one of them tried seriously. Jim said he didn’t want to hurt Gaston and Gaston said he didn’t want to embarrass Jim by whipping him.

They headed back over to the meet and greet area after their match and we then got some of my favorite pictures of the trip. I ended up using one of them in the frame I bought the previous day.

We walked away from that greet having spent a good 10 minutes with Gaston. It was the best memory from the whole trip!

There was one more meet and greet in Fantasyland that I wanted to catch that morning and it was starting pretty soon so we headed quickly to that area. We ended up being about 7 or 8 back in the line and the wait was a little longer as Peter and Wendy spent a lot of time with each group. The meet was a little anticlimactic after Gaston but we still had a good time. Jim told them all about arm wrestling with Gaston and that he liked the villains. Peter and Wendy both seemed a little disturbed by that revelation.

Meet and Greets done for the day, it was time for our first FP+ for BTMR.

As was the case in February, we had to get in line to get in the FP line. It looks like Disney has figured that this is going to keep happening because they had some ropes to weave through to get to the FP entrance.

I actually remembered to take some pictures in the line this time.

It didn’t take long at all to make it through the line and before we knew it we were flying through the Wild West. Jim loves this coaster, it’s much more his speed than Space Mountain or Expedition Everest.

Jim was getting a little hungry at this point and since we still had an hour till lunch, he decided to get a snack. He can get very grumpy when he is hungry.

With all the yummy unique Disney food around, can you guess what Jim got?

Yep Doritos. He eats those pretty much every day at home. He thought it was pretty funny that I still wanted to snap a picture of those but I had to have a picture for the TR!
