This restaurant is situated in Frontierland across from the riverboat docking area. It is a table service restaurant which has a pleasant luxury feel to it.
The restaurant specialises in steak so you'll be at home looking for a big stear T-bone :) Mexican also features on the menu option

The silver spur steakhouse
The s.s.s. is situated in frontier land opposite the molly brown ship and is a western styled restaurant ,we took refuge there on a very cold march evening and it was very quiet ,we had a lovely table up on a raised area where you could see the open kitchen and watch your food being grilled on a wood fire grill
DH had a `kit Carson grilled chicken` which was served in a solid frying pan, cook pot style dish which came with fries, I had the vegetable lasagne if I remember was very vegetably!!but also perfect for the weather ,Ds`s has crumbled fish which If I remember was more like fish and chips and dd had the pasta in basil and tomato sauce ,all the kids meals were from the little sheriffs menu and were adequate for their tummies and they also got 1 drink each and a choice of pudding ,ds`s had the Disney ice cream which was actually a promotional tub with a chicken little toy at the bottom of a little tub of ice cream and dd had the puzzle pudding which was great, a white chocolate jigsaw with red, blue and yellow food colouring and a paint brush ,hence ds`s chose that pudding from thereon in!! As we were on quiet a tight budget that was all we had apart from adults drinks but I remember commenting how it was cheaper to eat there than in Annette’s for lunch and the food was lovely ,the restaurant was very inviting but it was very quiet so I wonder how it would be on a busy day!
Sorry but that’s all I can drag back from my memory but it must have made an impression on us as the whole family agree on it being the first place to go to eat on our next trip!

We had heard good things about the silver spur and booked it for our large group of 16 for 6pm hoping that we would be able to get on a few rides after our meal before they closed at 8pm. Unfortunately we didn't get out until 8.20pm, the service was extremely slow despite not being very busy. We all ordered from the set menu, prawn cocktails were fine and large, but the steak and (frozen) chips were very basic, no better than I make at home. There was nothing wrong with them but nothing great about them. Also nothing else on the plate, no salad or veg at all. Kids meals came way before ours which left them bored while we were still waiting. Their meals were fine, much nicer than adults. Desserts were average, apple pie acceptable, my profiteroles were hard pastry and frozen in the middle, I left them - NEVER KNOWN BEFORE!!!

All in all very disappointing, left us wishing we'd tried anywhere else.

We ate there in January 2006 and the food was delicious and the service was very fast! (Although the restaurant was stuffed!) You have to try the tomato soup! :Pinkbounc

I ate an early lunch here, and was similarly impressed.

I was looking for a set menu; the challenge was that there was not a 'vegetarian' full set menu as the appetizer included was a caesar salad with anchovy dressing (very common to find that in France, and the French may insist that it is vegetarian, even when one points out that anchovy are fish)

My server was initially at a loss but I asked if they could subsitute the only vegetarian appetizer (tomato and mozzarella stack). This involved two servers and a manager and a lot of discussion about fish being an animal, but they eventually saw my point and made the switch for me (quite pleasantly, but I did need to hold firm on this!)

The tomato stack was excellent (as always, one of my favourite dishes anywhere and difficult to not make well) and was served with warm rolls and unsalted butter (both luxuries in the United States, and which I crave)

The main course was a sort of vegetable pie with a crumb crust - consisting of aubergine, zucchini, kidney beans, tomatos. It was piping hot and very good, but after my roll frenzy I could only finish half.

Dessert was a sort of 'crepe pie' - a stack of smallish crepes and raspberries surrounded with cream - quite good, but as it was not chocolate :teeth: not quite my style.

Entertainment was provided during the lunch by a singer with guitar - not overly instrusive, and moderately western in style.

Overall, I give this a 9 out of 10 - good food, good service, and good athmosphere!

We ate here on 13th March 2007 and were not impressed. Hubbys salmon was just ok - nothing special. My steak was small, thin and overcooked. And our 3 yr olds crumbly fish (like fish and chips) was greasy. Service was fairly slow even though they were very quiet. Our waiter then had an arguement with the chef at the open grill in full view of all the customers. Not sure if we just caught them on a bad day but I wouldn't hurry back.

well it looks like this place needs a few more reviews, so here is another from me!

as I had put kathleena on the train earlier in the day, I was all alone for dinner, and decided that as I was back on the malaria meds it was not worth risking a large meal. I cancelled my dinner at Walt's, walked over to the HNY to consider the buffet, strolled through Disney Village, and found myself outside the Silver Spur. Noticed that the menu had changed, and decided to give it a try. (I conveniently forgot the meds and what a large meal would do to my stomach later)

Was seated almost immediately (again, another early dinner by Europe standards at 1730hrs); seater again was a chatty German who wanted to know all about emigrating. Server was rather abrupt - he was disappointed that I could not speak Italian very well (it is my weakest language, so I offered up French, English or German, but he said that he was Italian Swiss and we communicated in French from then on, mine being much better than his! )

I was pleased to see that my recommendation from my above post was taken, and the tomato mozzarella salad was now an appetizer option on the Sheriff Menu. Entree was a four cheese tortellini with vegetables, and before I could say anything my server said that I would be having the chocolate dessert (well, yes, but..... ;) )

Food was excellent; I avoid cheese tortellini in America as it is usually far too cheesy, but this was quite good, with enough veggies to offset the cheese. The dessert was also very good - a sort of chocolate ganache on a crisp with fruits.

Service was rough; with the abovementioned language issues I felt deserted - my server was most often leaning over the railing talking loudly in Italian to another server. I had to wait a very long time to get a second bottle of water.

Save for the server, an excellent meal. At 25euros less the AP discount, a very good value as well!

Thanks for the review! Sorry for the strange server... :confused3 However, I was wondering whether you are really talking about the Silver Spur Restaurant inside the Disneyland park in Frontierland or rather the Steakhouse in Disney Village. From your description of how you got there it sounded more like the one in the Disney Village...

no, I was at Silver Spur! yes, I ended up wandering quite a ways - I had to ride Phantom Manor one last time and the new menu was interesting enough to draw me in to the restaurant. It is one of my favourites and it stays on my list as a good choice!

Thanks for clearing this up! I always wanted to eat at Silver Spur, perhaps we will be able to make it there in October!!

Does anyone when they would close in the evening on days the park closes at 7pm?

Hi,
We will be visiting DLRP in Nov. and have purchased the half board vouchers so I am considering the Silver Spur :). Glad to hear the good reviews but I'm wondering if anyone noticed if they had a separate menu for voucher users, or would we be free to choose from the regular menu?

We had dinner there last Tuesday (will post review with pictures in the next few days) and when we checked in, they asked wether we had vouchers before they went to get the menus for us. So I think that there might be a chance that you will get a special menu. Sorry, no precise answer, I should have asked why she needed to know...

I think that is why also Flossbolna, which is a pity but then I haven't been yet so maybe it will be alright. We haven't booked any restaurants yet but I was thinking maybe I could view the menu before we went inside but I guess not. How did you like your food? I am looking forward to seeing your pictures :thumbsup2!

hi Kristina,

here is the set menu dlp food guide has on their website:-

Choose one starter:

Ranchero prawn cocktail

Smoked beef and tomato rosette with red onions

Caesar salad with Reggiano parmesan

Choose one main dish: (with choice of sauce and side dish):

Fresh grilled salmon

Vegetable crumble with Parmesan cheese and pine nuts

Choose one dessert:

i think for vouchers it will be this menu or somthing simular, but it gives you an idea. Also when we went all the places we ate at had the menus outside including the voucher menus.

Kristina, food was great and atmosphere was very nice! Why don't you go to the hostess while you are touring Frontierland and just ask to see the menu? Yu could always make a reservation just to be sure and cancel it if you find out that you do not like it. BY the way, DLP was closing at 7 pm when we were there and the latest reservation we could get (on Monday for Tuesday evening) was for 6:15 pm. We left at 7:40 pm and really enjoyed the quiet evening atmosphere!

Photos will come soon, probably Wedneday, off to bed now and tomorrow I am out seeing Rattatouille (finally we got it here in Germany as well!!)

Thanks I'm sure it will be fine :thumbsup2 . Oooh and here it is wendsday, looking forward to your pictures flossbolna :goodvibes ! I will take some too and post when we come home.

Fortunately it is still Wednesday and here comes the review:

We ate her during our stay at DLRP on Tuesday, 2 October 2007. I was travelling with a friend and my sister, all of us in their mid-thirties.

We decided where we wanted to eat the day before and got a reservation for it at the guest services at the Studios. Ideall we would have liked to eat at 7 pm as the park closed at 7 pm, but it seemed that the last seating they accepted was for 6:30 pm. Actually, now I am glad we did not eat there any later as the restaurant was rather deserted when we left, I think there was only one other table still occupied.

This picture was taken when we were waiting for our food:

We were seated promptly when we arrived, however, the choice of table seemed a bit odd, we were in a far corner of the restaurant with lots of still untidyied tables around us. When we were deciding who was going to sit where at the table the hostess picked up that we were talking German (we had spoken English with her before) and asked whether we are Germans. As we said yes she appologized, said she was getting menus in German and dissappeared. On the one hand it was nice to have menus in German, even though some translations were a bit strange. We were glad that we had studied the English menu outside the restaurant quite well beforehand, not only because it helped understand the stranger German translations, but also to have an idea about what to tell the waiter when ordering! Otherwise it would have been quite difficult to translate a menu into English for communicating with the waiter! I would have preferred a multilingual menu for that, really.

Once we had ordered, the service was quite prompt. We had a bottle of rosé wine which was nice and a bottle of water which was eau perrier. It seems to be different from ordinary perrier, but I could not tell how... At least it came in a fancy bottle:

All three of us had the "Sheriff's Menu" for 25 €. Here is a picture of the possible selections:

My sister and my frined both opted for the Ceasar Salad:

DSC02122.jpg

I had thought about that too, but I am not a great fan of anchovies. I know that this belongs into a Ceasar dressing, but normally it isn't a strong taste. However, thinking that this is still France where they are serious about food, I thought that there might be a chance of a strong anchovies taste if they actually write it on the menu as an ingredient. And I was right! It definitely tasted of it and would have been much too fishy for me! Luckily the other two did not mind the taste at all and seemed to rather like their salad!

I had opted for the beef carpaccio with chimichurri sauce:

DSC02124.jpg

This was absolutely delicious, the beef was very tender and really thin (as it is supposed to be) and the sauce was really fresh tasting. I was not sure what was in it, I thought that it tasted a bit like mint, but now I have found out that there is supposed to be mainly parsley in it. The croutons served with it where a bit boring, but we got a basket of fresh bread rolls to go with it:

DSC02128.jpg

We were first served another basket, but these were soon taken away by our server and replaced with a new basket with warm rolls! That was a nice touch!

For our main dish, my sister and I chose the steak, cooked medium, she had it with the option of roast grenaille potatoes while I had it with fries, therefore two different steak pictures!

DSC02135.jpg

We both thought that the meat was excellent, very tender and very well cooked. They look tiny on these pictures, but actually they were decent sized steaks. My sister was not totally convinced that these were the potatoes of her life, but they can't have been soo bad as she ate most of them. My fries were really nice, not at all as dry as they look on the picture.

My friend had the salmon. It was actually quite spicy, but she thought it was very good.

For desert my sister and I again had the same dish (she was very happy about that as it meant that she did not have to wait around for me finishing taking pictures of her dish as I ahd my own version of it to experiment with it), the apple curmble with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce:

The chocolate horseshoe looked great, but we both did not feel at all like eating it as we were not really that hungry anymore, anyway! However, we both managed to eat quite a lot of the delicious crumble. It was very buttery and rather on the sweet side, but with just enough apples to still keep it fruity and it went very well with the coolness of the ice cream!

My friend had the choclate and praline croquante which was a kind of chocolate mousse cake. If you like chocolate this must be the dessert for you. My friend really enjoyed it, but it was just very heavy after a large meal.

We finished at 7:40 pm and enjoyed slowly walking through the empty Frontierland and nearly empty Main Street (where the shops were still open) and actually see the castle at night once during this trip (at 7 pm park closing it was still very light outside):

DSC02153.jpg

All in all we had a lovely meal there. I had wanted to eat there for ages, however, most of the trips beore I had always been on a rather tight budget, so this time it was nice to splurge for a meal! I think I would love to return, of all the restaurants inside the park it has the greatest appeal to me personally.

The theming of the restaurant is great, not only that the room is beautiful and that they have plates with a saloon decoration (see pictures above): the backs of the chairs actually have real cow skin on their backs:
