Silver Spur Restaurant - reviews

Kristina, do you see the little cloud next to the Sheriff's Menu on the picture of the Menu? I think this might indicate that this is the choice for the meal vouchers...

Well that looks just lovely, thank you for such a detailed review! I showed my boyfriend and he agrees that both the food and the restaurant looks quite nice. Matching the menu to tigger's post and I believe you are right about the set menu so that's great. I understand about not wanting a deserted restaurant however, it's more fun with a few more people but at the same time, you got more park time and to see the park after hours so cool! Sounds like a plan if you ask me :thumbsup2.

I think it's time I called later today to make our reservations! Only one month to go and I'm getting really excited now!

actually the empty restaurant was not too bad for us, I just wanted to warn others! The waiters never gave us the feeling that we were overstaying, they were busy with setting the restaurant up for the next day by setting the tables and such. It did not feel like they were closing and putting chairs up. And besides that we had quite a bit of wine before the meal arrived, so were feeling rather tipsy and thus not too concerned about what others thought about us anyway :goodvibes

Thank you for your review and wonderful pictures, Flossbolna. :goodvibes

You've certainly persuaded me that I need to pay a visit here. ::yes:: :thumbsup2

We ate here last on Tuesday 23 October. This is the 4th time I have eaten here - we are fans, as you can tell. ;)

It's always warm and welcoming and smells gorgeous - unless perhaps you are a vegetarian, in which case the smell of meat cooking may be overpowering.

My daughter had cheeseburger

SSL13113.jpg

followed by fruit fondue

SSL13119.jpg

She enjoyed both of these. She was given a Rubik's cube with Disney characters on it as well.

Husband had ham, goat's cheese and grilled veg

SSL13114.jpg

followed by steak and BBQ sauce

SSL13115.jpg

and then Big Thunder dessert

SSL13118.jpg

(oh look - there's the Rubik's Cube!)

I had a gorgeous mozarella and tomato salad, which I didn't photo for some reason and then had steak and bearnaise sauce.

SSL13116.jpg

I ordered it medium well and it came....erm.... well, I'd call it raw :sad2: bright red and bloody. I know that Brits are unusual in the way we eat our steak but seriously I couldn't even eat the edge because the inside was just so chewy and bloody. My husband couldn't understand why I didn't send it back and ask for it to be redone, but I HATE sending food back and thought it was my fault anyway for not remembering HOW different the ways of cooking steak are. Anyway I enjoyed the chips and the sauce.

For dessert I had chocolate and praline craquant with orange, which was scrummy.

SSL13117.jpg

We will definitely be eating here again - but I will remember to ask for my steak to be burnt next time!

The bill came to 66.21 Euros after discount was applied.

We ate here once again on Tuesday 19 Feb
Husband had the carpaccio followed by the prime rib steak.

SSL14004Small.jpg

SSL14008Small.jpg

I had goat’s cheese pastry followed by the sirloin with béarnaise sauce

SSL14005Small.jpg

SSL14007Small.jpg

Dtr had the mixed grill from the 11-16 year menu.

SSL14006Small.jpg

We shared 2 desserts between us – the yoghurt and fruit thing that came with the children’s menu and an apple and cinnamon crumble and ice-cream.

SSL14011Small.jpg

SSL14012Small.jpg

We also had 1 beer and 2 waters and 1 coffee. The bill before discount was 91.65 Euros
The food was very tasty and cooked just as we asked (now that I know I must ask for my steak well done). The service was also good. This is still one of my favourites.

when i went it was just before the busy dinner times and the food was served quickly and delicious! the best steak i've ever had. will definitely be going back again.

We ate here on Tuesday 8th April ...

We used our Half Board Plus meals, which meant we were resricted to the 25 euro menu - which was OK with us. It was a goodish meal, although in comparison to the other restaurant we ate at it wasn't one of our favourites.

DD meal was OK - she didn't want the set meal but they were happy for her to swap it about a bit .. although I have to say it didn't look that appetizing(in fact it was OK to eat, just didn't look that good).

<a href="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/?action=view&current=EuroDisney2008615.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/EuroDisney2008615.jpg" border="0" alt="SSS jess"></a>

Mine and DH meals were OK .. DH had a starter of tomato salad which was huge and I had the Ceasar salad (very nice).

<a href="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/?action=view&current=EuroDisney2008618.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/EuroDisney2008618.jpg" border="0" alt="SSS tom starter"></a>

<a href="http://s5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/?action=view&current=EuroDisney2008619.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y152/Cazgal/EuroDisney2008619.jpg" border="0" alt="SSS ceasre starter"></a>

For main course I had the steak, chips with pepper sauce (the chips were a little dry) and DH had the salmon, rice and steamed veg - very lightly flavoured and tasty.

The puds were scrumpy - cheesecake and apple crumble - very nicley presented and tasty .... DD ate most of mine cheesecake and I had her chocolate pudding.

All in all a good meal, but if I hadn't been in Disney I would not have been happy with paying 25 euros for the meal. There are other restaurants which offer better food at a similiar price, and I would recommend going to one of those instead.

Me and my girlfriend ate here on Wednesday the 4th of June. Before I get started I will say that I was extremely impessed.

I don't know if this is new but they do a 20 Euro set menu now which is basic but brilliant, it consists of a Cesar Salad to start and a wood grilled steak with either chips, potatoes and a couple other options as your main course. Me and Siobhan both opted for this and were not disappointed.

We were seated instantaneously and the server was very polite. Cesar Salad was brilliant with plenty of cheese and the best Salad dressing I've ever had!

We both opted for the french fries with the Steak due in part to forgetting how to say potatoes... but we weren't dissapointed. I had my stake medium and it was without a doubt the best Steak I've ever had. Siobhan had hers well done and said the same. The accompanying vegetables were perfect too, we really couldn't have asked for more. The bill was only 44 Euros in the end which doesn't even get you a meal for one person in some of the more expensive restraunts. This is particularly good because the food in the Silver Spur is just as good as the aforementioned expensive eateries in the park. Highly recommended!

Sounds good! Might check this place out next trip! :goodvibes

We ate here during our last trip in July. We had never eaten here before but had decided we wanted to try different restaurants this holiday and liked the look of the menu.
We also had half board plus vouchers which covered the full cost of the meal. There are 2 set menus. The cheapest one is recomended for half board plus vouchers. I chose from this menu.
To start with I had Beef Carpaccio- sorry no photo but I had almost finished before we remembered.
I then had Steak with BBQ sauce and fries

I like my steak pink in the middle and this was perfect.

For dessert I had a chocolate and nut cake. I chose this as it sounded like a dessert I had the previous day at Agrabah buffet but when it came it wasnt the same - it was still nice though.

DH opted for the more expensive menu which meant he had to put some money towards it as well as the voucher but it was only a few €.
He chose prawn cocktail as starter - sorry again no photo.
He followed this with a larger steak with BBQ sauce and fries

DD had the childrens menu and they were happy for her to swap courses around. She ended up with carrot sticks, Mickey Cordon Bleu with fries and green beans and Chocolate pudding.

We really enjoyed it and would eat here again.

Well I guess it's no surprise that we ate here once again. :goodvibes

We ate here last Wednesday, 20 August.

Once again Dtr ate from the teen menu (16 Euros) and had Cowboy Plate which is sausages, chicken wings, chips and green beans. For dessert she chose the chocolate brownie, but gave that to Husband.

I ate from the Cowboy menu (29 Euro) and had prawn cocktail followed by steak.
Son had same menu and had prawn cocktail and ribs. I have never seen anybody pick ribs so clean!
SSL15043.jpg

Sorry, pressed 'post' too early!

Husband had carpaccio (?SP?) of beef followed by salmon from the Sherrif menu (25 Euro)

The desserts we ordered were apple crumble, sundae, flambe vanilla creme brulee - but we all swapped them around so I can't remember which came from which menu. :confused3

Dtr had a non-alcoholic cocktail
SSL15042.jpg

The total cost was 107.29 Euros before discount.

We recently ate at SilverSpur for the first time after seeing your previous photos.
You sound as though you had some good meals again and your DS seems to have enjoyed it as well

I dooooo like the look of that cocktail!! Can your DD remember what was in it?

Apparently it was orange, apple, grenadine and banana juice......she thinks!

You could pay extra to keep the glass, but we didn't fancy walking round the Park with it, so we didn't.
