Sometimes I can't even...
The theater is going to be full of 40-50 year old women.
His weight yo-yo'ed but he looks like how I'd expect someone to age.I was never a Tom Cruise fan when I was younger but he gets better with age.
Now, Val Kilmer back in the day- Oh yes. Now, not so much.

I haven't really heard of too many interviews of him. He was supposedly working on retraining his voice. This interview is from 2018 where he's still working on developing his voice. He actually didn't look too bad.He battled cancer so I'm sure that took quite a toll on him.
Before that though I don't think he was aging as well as others who were acting back in the day with him.
Couldn't figure out how he didn't get an Oscar nomination for Tombstone. However, Cruise actually got much better as an actor over the years. I know there were higher profile roles, but his work in Collateral was just sublime.Val Kilmer was always an amazing actor. Better than Tom Cruise honestly. I am looking forward to seeing him in a role again.

Tom Cruise had that stereotypical Tom Cruise role in his 20s of the young, cocky hotshot. But he grew. Not sure what happened to Val Kilmer. He didn't fall off the face of the earth, but he couldn't seem to stay in good roles.Oh yeah Cruise definitely got better. But so many of his roles are basically the same person. I mean Maverick in fighter jet, Maverick in race car, Maverick has an attorney in the Navy (although A Few Good Men is one of my all time favorite movies).
Val Kilmer played a different person in every role.
His portrayal of Doc Holliday has to be one of the best ever. I could watch him in that role over and over all day. He made that movie less about Wyatt Earp and more about Holliday.

I'd think maybe they would use some sort of overdub, or they would have a backstory for why he sounds like that.

Wondering what would have happened if he had never got involved with Mimi Rogers.I did really enjoy the first movie, but then came all the scientology crap. Won't ever watch another movie with him in it again - or any of those cultists.
I know it's not fact. However, military nerds go crazy over this sort of thing. Pilots certainly say that none of this is real because someone would die unnecessarily or they're fudging with reality. Active Navy Captains are rarely in their 60s, but movies often have these commanding officers pushing 70.
I've taken tours of ships and seen the board showing all the senior officers. Sometimes it's odd seeing how young the commanding officers of these ships are. Usually a Commander in his (and now her) late 30s.
Hope it is as good as the original. Great movie! As a child of the 80's, I was a BIG Top Gun fan. Will be interested to see Mav back in action.
