Here is Montreal... If you want to add a day or two to your cruise.
The pictures with the chinese lanterns and beautiful floral sculptures (Mosaicultures) are from special events held once in a while at the Jardin Botanique. I'll be sure to let you know if they are happening this year or next year if you plan to come.
As a landmark, you'll notice the bridge. This is a picture taken from a cruiseship in the Old Port of Montreal. I notice that I suck at taking pictures from my hometown. Can't believe I have so little pictures from the Old Port! Which is ironic because it's my favorite part of the town.
The weird white structure with all the lights is the Casino of Montreal. It's nice. I'm not into gambling but it's pretty and they have great shows. The island where it is situated is the same as La Ronde theme park and the Jean-Drapeau Park (there is also a beach there). It's also one of my favorite places in Montreal. Easy to get there by subway.
You'll find a picture of one of my favorite places Cardinal Tea Room which is one of the cafés with personality I was talking about from the Mile-End.
The lake (Lac des Castors) and the great view picture were taken from the Mont-Royal Park, which was created by the same guy who created Central Park.
They recently created an observatory from Place Ville-Marie (one of the tallest buildings) and made something that would compare to Top of the Rock in NYC. Haven't tried it yet but it seems nice.
Montreal is currently under refurbishment which should be pretty much done by next year. If you plan to come, use the public transportation (very easy), otherwise, you'll go nuts.
