::MickeyMo Making the most of each Disney day!

 Hi everybody! This is my first trip report and I'm really excited to get it started! :goodvibes

During this trip I’m determined to make the most of each day my family spends in Disney World. In the past, making the most meant riding every ride, seeing every show and never missing a beat. Although I am and always will be a planner, I’ve decided not to try and cram everything in this trip. I will divert all my OCD planning into planning time for FUN instead! :yay:

Our party includes my mom Kim, dad Kelly, sister Holly, nephew Jace (9), niece Rylan (2), and me, Alicia (24).

Our trip begins April 24 and ends on May 1. My mom’s birthday is April 22, so that is one of the things we will be celebrating while we’re there. :cake:

My family is also still in celebration mode over the Saints winning the Superbowl! :woohoo: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0DBfyut5NY

I'm not sure my family wants their pictures posted, so I'll hold off on that until I get the go-ahead from them. But here are some photos from my first and last trip to Disney.

MGM 1991 {I'm putting this pic because this was the highlight of my trip. I know it's weird that meeting Mickey or riding Dumbo wasn't, but I LOVED the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was little. I was just so starstruck to be meeting Michaelangelo!! :worship: }

We'll be staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort for the first time. We’ve stayed at Disney’s Boardwalk, All Star Sports and in the Fort Wilderness cabins. So this will also be our first time staying at a moderate resort. Having stayed at a Deluxe, a Value and a Home Away From Home, I’m interested in seeing the difference between them and a Moderate. If anyone has pictures from their stay at Caribbean Beach, or any tips and suggestions about staying there, I’d love to see and hear them!

I wanted to share the posts I made on the "Post family Disney-theme night ideas" thread (http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1707141). We started a 50 day character countdown on March 5. Each day my nephew pulls off a sticky note and reveals the name of a Disney character and a trivia question. I’ll try to post the questions on here each day for anyone who wants to answer along with us. :scratchin

The questions are easy and kid-friendly so my nephew can know the answers. ;)

Answer from yesterday: Little John

For how many years did Davy Jones let Jack Sparrow be the captain of the Black Pearl?

Hi! That's what I love about the Disboards! That's so cool that you can find people who will be going at the same time. I'll be sure to check out your pre-trip report and follow along!

Hey there from a fellow Louisiana resident....West Monroe here!

I have tons of pictures of the CBR in my "Stop Making Me Laugh" trip report and some in my "Over the River" pre-trip report. Just click on the link(s) to take a look around.

Very cute countdown calendar. We still have 78 days before we start the drive to Walt Disney World so I probably won't start our countdown calendar for a couple of weeks.

Are you guys flying or driving to Disney?

Hi! Thanks, I'll definitely check out the CBR pics in your reports! I'm so excited about staying there! :yay:

We'll be driving to Disney. It takes us about 12 hours. In the past we've sometimes stayed overnight somewhere halfway, but we're just gonna take turns driving and go the whole way for this trip. I'm in the car ride game planning phase right now (to keep the kiddies entertained). I also bought the "Disney: The Music behind the Magic" cd for the trip. So hopefully the drive goes by quickly. :drive:

We drive too and our drive is anywhere between 14 and 16 hours. Just depends on what time we leave, traffic and weather. Since we leave after work, we drive until Midnight the first night and then the rest of the way the next day. When we leave to come home, we drive straight through.:scared1:

Hey there! Another girl signing on from Louisiana. We drive as well. It's be nice to be in the 40 day range till our trip. However, we still have 73 days left.

I love the countdown you have going on. Very cute. I need to get mine together, so the boys can have something to do rather than telling me every day that we need to go back to WDW today because they miss_________ (fill in the blank with any attraction).

Answer from yesterday: Phil

In what song from Mary Poppins do you “kick your knees up,” “spin about” and “flap like a birdie?”

14-16 hours…Yikes! :car: But I’m terrified of flying, so I’d probably drive as far as I needed to get to Disney! :)

Hi! :wave2: The Louisianians are coming out of the woodwork. I love it! :teeth: I just checked out your pre-trip report, and your boys are adorable!
My nephew likes to have the responsibility of tearing down the sticky note each morning. I love when the countdown to Disney starts because that’s when it really starts feeling real to me.
