The whole hot do challenge thing was lame. Most of them made SAUSAGE! That's not a hot dog.

I was surprised that one who made the food that got spit out didn't get the boot.

Hot dog challenge was definately not that great. I wasn't surprised about the one who got kicked off because she had been in the bopttom the whole time.

Well, I was almost surprised when Team Cougars didn't win the Foo Fighter Challenge. For a bit, I thought they were going to pull it off. Team Hot Pants, or whatever their name was) seemed to have too many strong willed chefs on their team. Too many alpha dogs can be an issue.

Which team made the pumpkin froofroo mousee with fruit? Fruit does NOT go with pumpkin that just sounded gross.

I think if they hadn't made such horrible desserts they would have won- they kept adding to many ingredients to their food- they had the pum[kin fruit dish and their stuffing also hads tons of stuff in it.

I taped the Today show yesterday because they said that the winning chef would be on the day after that last show aired. Unless I missed her, I didn't see Ariane

ETA: I did a search, and saw the segment on YouTube. I guess I was going too fast and missed it. And they said she was the winner of Top Chef, but I'm thinking they meant just their judging.

I have to say, she was a slow starter, but seems to get getting more comfortable, and is doing better. She made Margarita shrimp with avocado cream on today... Looked Yumm-o

It was on the very end of the Today show. DH DVR'd all four hours to get Ariana's segment for me.

Honestly I am surprised Jamie wasn't sent home this week for serving an partially uncooked egg.

Anyone surprised at who went home? What do you think of the new judge? I have to watch again, as I was tired and kept dozing off...

We dvr'd it. There is no way I can stay up that late. I'll watch it tonight or tomorrow. Dying to know who was told to pack their knives and go.

I wasn't surprised at who went hom. They have been in the bottom 3 a lot.

The new judge seems a little over the top but that is what he was choosen for- you can tell and so I think he is playing it over the top even more so because that is what is expected of him.

I was surprised at them not doing a good job on the food when they were allowed to cook any dish they wanted. These should have been the best dishes out there. It shows many of the contestants are just not as good this year because I mean look at their best dishes to wow the judges.

i love top chef and i am so tired of the lady with the big eyes - she NEEDS TO GO!!!
BTW - i went to Chef Tom C's resturant while i was in Las Vegas (craft steak) it was yummy - a must try for any top chef fan

Jen, did you know Tom has a restaurant at one of the CT casinos? DH and I are talking about going one day.

Okay, is it just my DH and I who feel this way, or does Jamie need to venture into something other than scallops? I am not a huge fan of Fabio's, but I agree with him that it is not Top Scallop, she needs to show some diversity in her cooking. So far it seems she has only cooked soup and scallops.

What did you think? I was so disappointed to see her go! She was my fav! Honestly, don't these people watch the show? Tom is HUGE on leaving on the bone and cooking, even I know that! DUH!!! If that lamb had been left on the bone...winner. And it seems everyone is doing a green sauce these days...pesto this and pesto that...it's on all the shows. It's getting old. OK, we know the pesto stuff already, let's do something new... MHO.

I posted on Dyan's thread, but I'll say it here too. The whole "honor the animal" thing last week about the fish I thought was nice...but it was again this week. And this week we got to look at the animal faces. That's kind of gross to me. Guess I'm not much of a farm/country girl...give me wrapped in butcher paper. But that's me. The farm was pretty though.

I didn't see, I'll watch it tonight, but DH told me who was told to pack their knives and go. I was disappointed. I like that individual as well. I think the exposure of the show will do wonders for that persons restaurant.

OH LISA - i knew we think the same - it is a running joke with my brother in i - everytime i call him or he calls me - we say "Its top chef - not top scallop" in our best Fabio accent.
I saw the craft steak in foxwoods - just havent tried it. if you go get the tasting menu if they have it - ITS A TON OF FOOD.

I too was disappointed to see her go, especially since someone else on her team probably should have stepped up and done the butchering.

Most of the contestants by now are getting on my nerves. Jamie really irritates me and I if I had to live or work with Stefan I would have murdered him by now. He is insufferable!

I am also not liking this new judge. A few witty quips are fine, but it's way overdone.

I think it was sad to see the last chef go- Ariane. She had done well up till that point. I am really ready to see Leah go....I don't understand how she is till there. I Radhika will be next after Leah.

Ok first let me say that I am a Bravo addict, Top Chef is my five yr old DD and my favorite.
I agree with Jennifer I like Fabio, as for Leah still being there, well we all remember how long Lisa stuck around last season right? The new judge yes he is a little over the top.
